24.01.2022 Rant: what idiot enforces minimum Credit Card Limits: Have you noticed that convenience stores -- or most any retailer for that matter -- have a minimum credit card policy? Why would that be? Simple answer: they’re dumb and it’s costing them money. ... The fact is that people are using less cash and more credit cards. Customers do it for convenience. There is an added cost for this convenience. It is a tiny, tiny cost. Charge them if necessary. Don't lose the sale. Regardless of whether you're earning $66,000 a year as a convenience store owner or $600,000 a year running a tech company you can never afford to pass up a customer who's ready and willing to pay a small surcharge -- especially for a bag ofsmith's chips or a small coffee.

18.01.2022 The Reboot Quest Day 6 of 100 Book worth reading: Risky is the new SAFE by Randy Gage written in 2012 and published in 2013 - so the question is... why am I re...ading it in 2018?? To write well, you need to read a lot... which I am doing on this sabbatical from the last 40 years... and Randy talks about UnMarketing and mentions people I have been following like Gary Vaynerchuk, Seth Godin, Scott Stratten [ who coined the phrase UnMarketing ] the wisdom on brands Apple, Cirque du Soleil, Starbucks and Nike, and much more But most of all he talks about sharing every day with your fans... hopefully you are fans... and finding them where they are which maybe on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, a blog, maybe LinkedIn... or by email.... all of these. So, I recommend that you lift your gaze long enough to see that there are many ways to build your tribe... and share with them.

15.01.2022 Beatles Wisdom - Thoughts of Paul [ August 2018 ] Regarding the general state of the world, McCartney mourned what he said was a situation in which violence an...d arrogance are back. It’s like how fashion goes in cycles, how bell-bottoms came back. We were heading towards sense, but we are into the next pendulum swing now. That happens in life, he said. McCartney said he was still optimistic about the future, however, recalling Britain in the 1970's: Cemeteries were left to rot. We felt we were heading to Armageddon, but it cleaned up.

14.01.2022 Song of Myself (1892 version) BY WALT WHITMAN I celebrate myself, and sing myself, And what I assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me as good be...longs to you. I loafe and invite my soul, I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass. My tongue, every atom of my blood, form’d from this soil, this air, Born here of parents born here from parents the same, and their parents the same, I, now thirty-seven years old in perfect health begin, Hoping to cease not till death. Creeds and schools in abeyance, Retiring back a while sufficed at what they are, but never forgotten, I harbor for good or bad, I permit to speak at every hazard, Nature without check with original energy.

12.01.2022 Live every day as a quest. Just 6 am and angry people have intruded on my peace. Work is work, but a quest is valiant and noble. Don’t just brainstorm, conspir...e. Let your fingers dance on the keyboard as you type. Smile while you think. Enjoy your food. Don’t just walk, stride feel the ground beneath your feet. When you stop for a break look at the sky. Dare yourself to find everything easier, faster, more fun, and more meaningful. As Nike would say JUST DO IT!

09.01.2022 Australia is a big country! While the east coast [ especially New South Wales ] is in the grip of once in a century drought, Western Australia is having its wet...test winter for 53 years!! Yesterday I was at the Dowerin Field Day, the biggest agricultural field day in the southern Hemisphere, and business was brisk... farmers were expecting records crops at 30 year high prices and according to reports from the organisers, they were spending with Gay Abandon. And I met up with David Young a client from 30 years ago who said "You would be prod of me!" and proceed to show and tell me of his new business success. Aaah the rain makes people do strange things.

04.01.2022 Paul's best known song Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay... Oh, I believe in yesterday Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be There's a shadow hanging over me. Oh, yesterday came suddenly Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm

03.01.2022 The Case of 2 different type of people The wisdom of Stephen Hawkins In an extreme cases, we all must know of people who have been doing the same thing for year...s and seem to not have any problem staying stagnant. Whether it be in their marriage, job, or personal endeavors, they seem to be getting along just fine without progressing towards anything ‘better’. Where as you would also know of individuals who focus on the positive, set goals and are constantly pushing themselves to greater heights. Be it promotions at work, building a family, celebrating milestones in their marriage or relationships, upgrading houses and cars, setting up new businesses, or going to school again, these individuals seem to constantly progress towards something that improves or enhances their life. Have you ever contemplated why the difference between these 2 category of individuals? It boils down to why you feel like or don’t feel like doing something. That usually boils down to one thing. You will recognise it as motivation. It is the force, or lack of, that keeps driving ypeople forward to overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve their goals. Without motivation, people give up after a few failed attempts or even on the first tough challenge that comes their way. Lots of people will just give up... I am not meant to be more is what they tell themselves and their justification of doing more of the same. #Rebootology #WayneMansfield #GettingThings Done #Biitzpro #StephenHawkins #Hawkins

02.01.2022 Don't they get it? I subscribe to Foxtel and without saying how much [ about a coffee a day ] it isn't cheap... and it seems to be losing ground to Netflix, Sta...n, iView, Amazon Prime etc... So, what do you think they are doing to my subscription fee?? No not reducing it... they are putting it up! so I can watch sport on my 4000 resolution TV [ which I haven't purchased yet ] and have wall to wall cricket that nobody wants to watch with me.... Is this the start of the end ??? I think so.
