25.01.2022 Shopify is reporting traffic at Black Friday levels across the globe. Black Friday is traditionally one of the busiest days/weekends of the years for ecommerce sales, so this is kind of nuts given the times we're living in, but also exciting for businesses in a position to generate revenue online. We are being forced to buy and sell online, yet social media advertising costs have dropped to levels we haven't seen in years. AKA you can get your brand and product in front of m...ore people for the same ad budget. Big opportunities for businesses in a position to take them.

23.01.2022 Retailers gotta be in it to win it.

22.01.2022 Ecom is thriving for brands with good AOVs, LTVs or high margins, but for cheaper products there's still a way to go. This article by Digiday explores how technology is evolving to solve that problem as more and more of us become accustomed to shopping online.

19.01.2022 Yeah ok fine we said it. ‘Pivot’ may be one the most overused words of 2020 (and we’re not even halfway through yet) but cliches exist for a reason. And it rings true for us so For a long time we’ve promoted the fact that we specialise in digital marketing for events, which is still true, but it’s not the only thing we do. ... What we haven’t promoted so widely (until now) is our skills as ecommerce marketers. Since we started our business we’ve been running campaigns for brands directly, as well as subcontracting to agencies that don’t have the skill set themselves, to drive profitable sales of products online. With the physical event industry on indefinite pause, we’ve had time lean into more ecom campaigns and help other business owners - many of which are also having to pivot in some way from brick and mortar or other sales channels to online - ride the wave that is 2020 and hopefully come out the other side more resilient than ever before. And besides.. giving up was never an option.

19.01.2022 Bringing the brick and mortar retail experience online and thriving.

Ecommerce is the answer, but who has time to figure it all out when you're trying to keep a business afloat? There are some great tips to help direct your focus in this article, or feel free to reach out to us for a chat anytime. We'd love to help you turn this ship around and come out stronger than ever.

18.01.2022 Yesterday we shared news about Facebook's rollout of Facebook Shops. Here's how to set it up.

18.01.2022 A match made in heaven Shopify & Facebook have joined forces to bring FACEBOOK SHOPS to Shopify merchants, a new shopping experience that lets you create a customisable storefront on Facebook and Instagram, allowing store owners to more easily reach their customers online. This brand new offering in the Shopify / Facebook suite is rolling out as we speak, and we can't wait to add it to the mix for our eCommerce clients.

18.01.2022 Some interesting ecommerce sales stats - March 2020 vs March 2019. If your business sells products in the top 100 and you're not already selling online, or making the most of there being less competition in the advertising space right now (meaning you can reach more people with less budget), let us know if you want to chat strategy. There are even a few in the bottom 100 that could be doing better with the right positioning and creative. ... New video projector, audio system, and home bar furniture to fancy up the iso-ante, anyone?

18.01.2022 Today live music venues across Victoria launch #saveourscene Social Season got its start working with some of the best live music venues in Melbourne and across Australia. 17.01.2022 Bonus tip - video views can be retargeted in ads so you can turn engagement into revenue.

16.01.2022 The dreaded account shutdown. Dun. Dun. Dun. There have been rolling cases of account shutdowns over the last year (as if we needed more fun things to worry about in recent times) and it’s not something you ever want to have to deal with, especially if your business relies heavily on the traffic Facebook’s Advertising platform can bring. So what can you do to try and prevent it? Check out our latest blog post where we've pulled together a checklist how-to of the 5 thi...ngs you need to do to help secure your account and avoid a shutdown. Quick disclaimer - we don't own or control FB and sometimes shutdowns happen due to bugs or other things, but following these steps should help with avoiding some of the more preventable reasons that are often behind it. 12.01.2022 Another day, another great support package being offered. This one is for artists and arts organisations. It's important to keep reminding ourselves that support is out there, in many different shapes and forms, no matter what industry you're in or how you've been impacted.... Take some time to look at which offers you may be eligible for and make sure you get your applications in! Australia Council for the Arts has announced a Resilience Fund of approximately $5M for artists and arts organisations to support their livelihoods, practice and operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. 10.01.2022 44 reasons why we're always asking clients for more video content to use in their campaigns.

10.01.2022 Going to start all our emails like this from now on.

10.01.2022 The April Global Statshot from DataReportal is out and it paints a fascinating (although not entirely surprising, considering current circumstances) picture of how people around the world are using the internet, social media, mobile devices, and ecommerce and in particular highlights changes to this behaviour throughout the early stages of the pandemic. Digital activity is on the rise, and its showing no sign of slowing down (especially in regions hardest hit) The report i...ndicates that 4.57 billion people globally now use the internet, an increase of more than 7 percent since this time last year. Social media users are growing even faster, up by more than 8 percent since April 2019 to reach 3.81 billion people today. Roughly TWO THIRDS of the world’s total population now uses a mobile phone. GSMA Intelligence reported 5.16 billion unique mobile users at the start of April 2020. The adoption of eCommerce has accelerated, with a 30% increase in time spent online shopping in Australia and the largest percentage increase going to China (already one of the countries with the world's highest eCommerce adoption rate) Advertisers can now reach more than 2 billion people on Facebook alone! Businesses have more opportunities than ever before to find and engage with their customers online, but understanding how the current global situation is shaping our behaviour is fundamental. Fascinated to see how online habits and behaviour evolve over the continued course of the pandemic. https://datareportal.com//digital-2020-april-global-statsh

09.01.2022 If you don’t have a good online strategy maybe it’s time to fix that.

09.01.2022 Listened to a great podcast this morning on the importance of incorporating brand building into social media ad campaigns. We're dropping our fave quotes & truth bombs below, but highly recommend going & listening to the full thing here - https://podcasts.apple.com//ep52-chandler-we/id1382390439 On the psychology & emotions behind marketing brands... People are so focused on the data that they fail to realise selling is an emotional thing. You’re impacting someone’s life. Especially now when you look at the brands that pop. People want to be attached to a movement. They want to feel like they’re a part of something bigger than themselves. That’s the viewpoint you have to take when you’re marketing. If you have a valid sales offer and good creative, media buying is the easy part of the equation. Understanding the psychology of what goes behind it is what’s important. Tactics change. Psychology doesn’t. On the power of a brand vs a company with a really good ad campaign If we’re talking purely direct response, spending a buck, make $2.50 back. The problem is, that doesn’t turn into a brand, and brand is longevity. Brand is a personality for a company. If you turn your ads off and your revenue goes to zero or you go out of business within a week, you don’t have a brand, you have a company with a really good ad campaign. On the importance of organic content to develop winning ad creative The number one thing brands do wrong - they don’t put out enough content. Every brand should post 3-6 times a day on social media. 80-90% of brands don’t do that but the ones that do are winning. If you post 3-6 times a day, you get feedback & engagement. FB values engagement above all because they value screen time and content that provides value to the user. I've yet to see a brand that invests in social at that scale that doesn't see significantly lower ad prices." What are your favourite brands?

06.01.2022 Great blog by Klaviyo on brands previously relying heavily on brick and mortar sales moving their focus to online, and thriving. In order to embrace a future online, traditional brick-and-mortar businesses need to invest in building and refining a digital audience as quickly as possible. Building a website is a great accomplishment, but the work doesn’t stop there. If there was ever a time to cut your digital marketing budget now is not the time.... With the right digital marketing tactics, brands new to ecommerce can build a conversion machine to help them weather the economic effects of the pandemic. How? By leveraging custom audiences and well-timed email automation to build targeted advertising campaigns.

04.01.2022 Seems like Facebook finally reached a deal with the major music labels in the US to start bringing full music videos to the platform. Hopefully it means the artists start getting paid for their music like they do with YouTube.
