24.01.2022 Hey hey Social Stylers!! I'd really like your input on this one! Help a sista out Are you struggling with what to post on your Facebook business page? Do you ever stress about:-... what to post to connect with your fans' and when and how often to post how to get better engagement from your customers how to come up with new ways of posting so that you're enjoying engaging on your own page as much as your fans are creative ways to post to build relationships and get your customers to you and your brand knowing how much of yourself to share how you can possibly manage your socials while running your business? I'm considering setting up a membership group. If you want to learn how to do your own social media, get started/ get growing but most of all become self reliant when it comes to social media, this membership is for you! It will help you learn great ways to show up online. Do you think your business would benefit from a membership like that? Would you join? If there's something you'd specifically want, feel free to comment or PM me. Cx Marie-Louise

19.01.2022 What are your customers doing today? It's the day before Australia Day, and, as that falls on a Tuesday, lots of people have taken today off. And, lots are still working from home as well. Thinking about what your customers might be doing can help you to decide what to post today, or whether to post at all. ... Perhaps they've been out for a walk this morning, as I have, before the Melbourne 40' heat kicks in. I'm trying to do that more and more, because my ability to deliver good results to my customers relies on me being healthy and fit. I like to walk in the mornings, so that it's out of the way and so I'm ready to focus on my day's work. So now, tell me, what have you been up to today? Share a pic below, if you dare :) Xx Marie-Louise

12.01.2022 Recently I was asked if I teach people to spam. It's a good question, and I'm sure one that might have crossed your mind at some point or another, when thinking about engaging a social media manager (which I don't really identify with, btw). None of us has to go far for the answer, because it's "nope" and the proof is on my page. I only ever post once a day, unless I'm hyping for a live I'll be doing later that day. ... There's no need to post multiple times a day, and the more we do, the more we risk being labelled as spammy. I'm all about the ham, but not the spam!! And bacon... okay, get back on track, Marie-Louise!!! In essence, I'm all about making and nurturing relationships. Your business relies on them, whether you're aware of it or not. You may not even know that the person who comes into your shop once a week actually sees that visit as the high point of their week. But, if it is, as long as you keep doing what you're doing, then you'll keep them coming back. The same relationships can happen online, it's just done in a different way. But that does not include pouncing on people when they comment on your page, and does mean chatting with them in a conversational way. Why? Because it's a bloody conversation, that's why! Simples. Just chat and keep it natural and they'll be happy to be there, and keen to come back the next time you post. So you see, nothing spammy at all. I do what I recommend to my clients, and if you want to check that, please do feel free to wander through the field which is Social Stylin' by scrolling down..... and make sure you leave some <3 and comments too, and I'll be sure to reply to you :) Cx Marie-Louise

07.01.2022 I'm a proud Aussie. Our country has a rich history, full of mistakes and achievements. Our predecessors haven't always made the best decisions, but we're always working toward a better future for all of us. I love being Aussie, for so many reasons. We're such a hodgepodge of the best of lots of countries, as so many of us have come from other places. The start may falter, but we're all welcomed and accepted. We brought so much with us and can share it around, and we do, wil...lingly! And hello, I'm an Anglo heritaged, lapsed Italian speaking, international food loving chick using an American platform in my business. For these reasons and more, Social Stylin' is focused on Aussie small businesses and why I want to help each of you. While lots of businesses want to go global, I want to stay where we speak the same language. I can "crikey" all I like, and you get me, and I get you. We're all trying to make someone's life easier, better, more fun, comfy, happier, and it's important that we keep going, supporting each other toward success. No matter how you feel on this day and the events leading up to it, I wish you a Happy Australia Day. We have a long way to go, but we can be grateful to all have been brought to this wondrous land, where we can be successful and proud of ourselves, individually and together. I am, you are, we are Australian. Cx Marie-Louise

05.01.2022 I've been asked this a few times lately, as enquiries are increasing. Invariably, the instant answer in my head is "how long is a piece of string?" Ideally, as the picture indicates, it's a gorge string of lights, but string nonetheless! It's an interesting question, because most of the time, the person asking works in a business where they'd not be able to easily answer that question. One such person was a baker, and I replied with, "how much is a cake? My charges depend on... a few factors." And they replied, "well that depends on...." Instantly, they knew that I couldn't answer that question, simply. However, it's important to ask a question like that at all. It's the start of a conversation with a fairly focused theme: money. Business coaches will tell you that it's all about value, and you have to make the enquirer see the worth in what you're offering and then they'll find the money. Yep, they do seriously say that stuff. I can see why they do, but I also hate it and call bullshit. I think that it spells the start of a dance where both parties are trying to lead and instead of it being a smooth ride around the floor, the pair gets boxed into a corner. And you know I don't like being in a corner!! Instead, what I'll say is that if you're asking someone how much they charge, be willing to give a little. Say what you think you can afford, or at least ask the question more specifically. Do you manage social media accounts for people? Would you write some posts for me? Can you make images to say what I'm trying to say? Are those things you do, and if so, is there an average price? Not all businesses are charlatans, but all businesses are trying to pay the bills, and most of them are also really keen to help you do what you need done. Give a little, (info, care, consideration, interest) and someone like me will most certainly try to make what I do, fit your budget, no matter how low or high that is. But, just like making a cake, there's a lot of creativity that goes into it, and a lot of years of learning, honing, experimenting and understanding. And that's before the business learning even started. And for those who are curious, my answers are: sometimes, I can but I'd rather teach you, yes probably, and some of them, let's see what you need and what I can do to help you. Cx Marie-Louise
