25.01.2022 Finding people who can adjust, learn and adapt is the way to stay ahead of the game. Employees must embrace technology, collaborate with others and work effectively with agility. Yet employers often hire people for specific skills, and if they are focusing on what employees can do instead of who they are theyre missing a trick. Agree ?
24.01.2022 Property Underwriting role based Perth CBD for niche Underwriting Agency. Would suit someone with 3-5 years either specialised in Property or with general package experience wishing to concentrate in the property sector.

24.01.2022 while things are a little quiet on the Recruitment front, Steve Addis has turned his hand to cooking.... hmmmm.....
24.01.2022 Well, we can throw out the interview tip on giving a proper handshake. The good news is that many companies are pressing ahead with interviews via VC/SKYPE/WhatsApp. If this is you, make sure you have a professional photo on your account, your back drop is clean of odd things, and the audience can hear you. Always a good idea to test it with a friend/family member first ahead of an interview. Now go nail that interview!
23.01.2022 very excited by this...

07.01.2022 On this day 18 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.... 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment, life was changed forever! As you live and enjoy the air you breathe today and before you go to sleep tonight, remember what is important to you and jump on every opportunity you are given because you may never get another chance. RIP to those who lost their lives to save others and thank you to those who continue to serve to keep us safe.

04.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone, not long before another public holiday next Monday. Anyone been learning and developing skills while working from home ? This looks pretty handy....
03.01.2022 Ask RECRUITERS questions in interviews. Its a two-way conversation; not a power play! Remember, "curiosity" is a fantastic asset. Try these:... 1. Who does the role report to? 2. What 3 things are the key to success in the role? 3. How long has this job been vacant? 4. Is somebody currently still in this role? 5. Is the company also considering internal candidates? 6. How long do you expect the interview process and decision-making to take? 7. You said the salary is competitive. Competitive isnt a number, so whats the numeric range, please? 8. Is the role exclusive to you as a recruiting firm? 9. Have you placed candidates with this company before? 10. How many other candidates are you presenting for this role? Do NOT be afraid to ask recruiters pertinent questions. Just be prepared for the fact that the hiring company may not have provided them with all the answers. So no question is a stupid one!
03.01.2022 Good morning everyone, have a great week ahead. Enjoy Melbourne Cup if you are having a celebration....
02.01.2022 With the second wave of Covid rearing its head in Victoria, its probably a better time than ever to reach out to friends & colleagues there & simply say "how are you" ? I would imagine many feel totally deflated by this step backwards, so its more important now to make sure everyone you know is coping with this as well as can be expected, so dont guess everyone is fine, pick up the phone & ask.....A simple gesture can go a long way....
02.01.2022 Good advice..... (yes, we are bored)....
01.01.2022 With all of us working from home, has anyone learnt a new skill with the additional free time ?
01.01.2022 STOP ASKING CANDIDATES: 1. Why do you want to work here? 2. Whats your greatest weakness? 3. What would your last boss say about you?... 4. Why should we hire you? WHY ARE THESE BAD QUESTIONS? 1. The candidate doesnt know whether they want the job yet. They came to the interview to learn more; you invited them to learn more about them. You wouldnt like it if the candidate asked you, "Why do you want to hire me?" so dont ask "Why do you want the job?" 2. It is just an opinion that people have "weaknesses;" it is not a scientific fact. Even if they do have weaknesses, why would it be any of your business what a candidates weaknesses are? You are not about to share your failings, so dont ask for theirs. Ask what they bring to the job, instead. 3. Some managers are amazing leaders and some are terrible at their jobs. Just because someone is a boss doesnt mean their opinion matters. 4. The candidate isnt going to meet the other candidates for the job. YOU know what youre looking for; they dont. ASK THESE QUESTIONS INSTEAD: 1. What interested you in the job? (By the way, heres what we liked about your resume.) 2. How do you think your background & talents suit this job? 3. What else would you like to know about the job? 4. How would this job advance your career?
