22.01.2022 The next instalment in the Letter From Melbourne song swap series has Laura Sandra MacFarlane introducing some beautiful vibraphone and vocals. Laura is a very long time friend and collaborator of ours, and we are ever inspired by the amazing body of work she has been building across multiple bands over the years - including a new solo release earlier this month. Next up on the song swap is Mark Monnone.... https://soundcloud.com//letter-from-melbourne-song-swap-5-

20.01.2022 Our friend Mark Monnone has jumped onboard for instalment number six with some baritone guitar. We've shared many a stage and tour van with Mark over the years, so great to have his deft touch added to the song. Next up is Oliver Mann https://soundcloud.com//letter-from-melbourne-song-swap-6-

14.01.2022 A great first day in the studio... @ Coburg, Victoria, Australia

13.01.2022 Tshirt weather today. Just hit 37 degrees outside. Our respective choice of band shirts to channel some inspiration. Karl : Leonard Cohen Pete : The Lucksmiths

12.01.2022 LETTER FROM MELBOURNE - SONG SWAP - #2 We had the best laid plans... a swag full of new songs, and some dates booked in the studio with Marty Brown to start putting down the new album. Not to be, for now at least. On the bright side, this being stuck at home has given birth to this little song swap project. Its a nice feeling to be building on something and collaborating during these strange times, which are robbing us of most chances to connect. ... So my contribution is some double bass and backing vocals, leaving lots of space for all our forthcoming collaborators. I can't wait to hear what they add. And next up, is the utter genius Tom Lyngcoln, whose guitar lines make never cease to blow me away. https://soundcloud.com/so/letter-from-melbourne-song-swap-2

10.01.2022 LETTER FROM MELBOURNE - SONG SWAP - #1 Considering how we’re all stuck at home and feeling more than a little blue, Pete and I thought a little musical collaboration might be a welcome distraction. Over the coming weeks we'll be passing this new song around to friends across Melbourne and Victoria so we can watch how it shifts and changes shape. I’m kicking off proceedings here and will now pass it on to Pete so he can add the next layer. Tom and Laura are up next!

10.01.2022 LETTER FROM MELBOURNE - SONG SWAP #4 - MATT WALKER Matt Walker was one of our first musical collaborators in Melbourne, when he braved the scene at The Dane Centre to come in and lay down some dobro on the track Send/Phone from our first album Looks Like A Russian. That was over 20 years ago, so we are very happy to still be in touch, and that he was willing and able to collaborate with us on this song swap project. In a pleasant surprise, Matt didn't reach for the guitar, bu...t instead added some lovely keyboards to the song. Love your work Matt! Next up on the song swap is Laura Sandra MacFarlane. https://soundcloud.com//letter-from-melbourne-song-swap-4-

08.01.2022 LETTER FROM MELBOURNE- SONG SWAP #3 - TOM LYNGCOLN Great to have Tom from The Nation Blue and Harmony joining the fray, chanelling the evening breeze through the olive groves. Be sure to check out his recent solo album Raging Head too. Next up is Matt Walker!

06.01.2022 Thanks True North not only for the great lunch and coffee fuelling our second day in the studio, but also for the genius take away packaging!!

04.01.2022 Another relic from the tshirt archive. This one is a shout out to our WA friends. The Western Australian Music Industry (WAMI) Awards were always a fun event on the annual calendar. If I recall correctly we did a caberet version of Stageman up at the old Ozone Bar.
