20.01.2022 Part 1 showed Manuela focussing on a strong position for the rider to help the horse stay forward and light to the go/stop and turn aids - the neck strap assists with position for the rider and posture for the horse giving both more 'balance' Part 2 shows the horse becoming a little more active and maintaining rhythm with less work from the rider, the aids are becoming more clear and lighter and the rider is feeling a little more balanced. You can see when the horse becomes a little tense due to the tractor (out of shot) that the neck strap helps to stabilise the rider without pulling on the reins.

13.01.2022 2020 brings much sadness and stress for all those battling these dreadful bushfires right across Australia. We are very thankful to be drought affected but safe from the fires at this point. I would like to contribute in some positive way to all those who have lost property in the fires and may be trying to manage families and pets with nothing. Please send me a message if you or someone you know has lost equipment necessary to care for their dogs or horses, I may be able to... help. I can provide lead ropes, tethers, dog collars and some halters from my business as well as a number of items from my personal horse equipment (saddle blankets, boots, rugs, possibly a bridle or two - tell me what you need). No hurry, postage and items provided for free to as many as I can help with what I have. Please know all of Australia and possibly the rest of the world are thinking of all those right in the middle of the disaster zones and send their support and love. Take care everyone

05.01.2022 A lesson with Manuela McLean part 3 Here Manuela looks at longer strides in walk, stretching and continuing with lifting the hands for downward transitions. This helps the rider to avoid pulling back, you can see how the horse becomes more relaxed - rider position is important for safety as well as relaxation for the horse. Notice how the horse’s head and neck become more steady when there is less pressure on the reins and the rider becomes more balanced.
