14.01.2022 In a couple of weeks it marks 12 months since we changed our lives for the better. Sold up in QLD, quit jobs, moved to a new state with a new baby and the parents/in-laws ready to embark on a new business we had never done. Crazy right! You could imagine how rich we’d be if we got a dollar every time we were told that! I found these photos in my phone today. We took the kids for a walk around the farm for the first time. Our eldest was in tears because she literally hated th...e long grass she was begging us to go back inside our farm house James had to carry her all the way home. I had eyes in the back of my head watching for snakes (still do ) and who knows what else was in the bushes. Fast forward 12 months later, our girls are hard to get inside and love nothing more than exploring our surrounds. I remember Scott coming up on tractor and sitting on the deck with Sharon having a cuppa taking everything in. We’ve all adjusted so well to our new lifestyle, we are a lot closer to one another and a hell of a lot more present. Here’s to the next 12 months! See more

13.01.2022 Our open day is next Sunday the 20th of Sept! If you would like to come along and check out our farm and what we have planned, please mark yourself as going and let us know how many of you are coming along (partners/kids) so we can buy enough sausages for the bbq! Please bring a chair, some lunch to share with everyone (or your own if you prefer) and water. We will be supplying a sausage sizzle and drinks! We are registered as a Covid safe business so you will need to s...ign in, sanitise and maintain your 4 square meter distance from other guests. We’re excited! See more

10.01.2022 We had such a great day on Sunday! A massive thanks to everybody who travelled to meet us and see our farm. What inspires us most is the number of people who turned up and shared a similar passion in what we are doing here on the farm. We gained so much through the day that can rarely be taught in a classroom and we are truly thankful to Young Farmers Connect and Zoe from Warinyan Farm / Bottled Culture for making these events possible.

10.01.2022 Our gardens are booming!

09.01.2022 We have started our website planning so we are ready by what we think will be November to sell organic produce to our community! I wanted to share our why and what brought us here with our Facebook community. We are 3 generations on a single farm with a desire to feed our local community with organic, wholesome and sustainable food. But why are we doing this? Well, these are some of the questions that brought us to where we are today and all of them still lay unanswered, ...but it is very early days. Can small scale family farms exist once again? Can we farm in complete synchronicity with nature? Will we be able to raise a family and still have a holiday at least once a year? Can we produce food that is not only 100% sustainable but that actually reduces more carbon then it creates and regenerates the landscape? Can we grow food that has more nutrition then what we are currently use to? Will people buy our food and support small scale organic farming practices? We are on a journey to see if these questions can be answered. We have no idea whether each or all are possible, or even if we are cut out to achieve such things. What we did know, was that our current way of living needed to change. With everything we were witnessing in our daily lives, how could we ignore the signs and not do something about it? We wouldn’t be able to look into our children’s eyes and tell them we did our best if we didn’t try. So here we are, taking a leap of faith, scared out of our minds at what may beset us. We have had many failures already (lessons) and we are fully aware of the significant challenges and hard work yet to come. What keeps us inspired and motivated is the many people who are embarking on a similar journey, be it those who have decided to be the farmer or those who are supporting a farmer trying to do the right thing. If you believe that these questions can all be answered with a yes or you just want to eat food that was grown locally and is nutrient dense, we would love to hear from you. Our website www.sohiporganics.com.au is coming soon!

07.01.2022 The market garden is loving the rain and warmer weather! Absolute abundance

06.01.2022 This is the sad side to farming and the loss of your beloved animals. Today we tragically lost our gorgeous Max. He was the most affectionate, sweet little goat and he has left some broken hearts behind. This morning I took the boys for a free walk down to the market garden, something I hadn’t done in a while. I am so glad I did, I really took my time, despite Macey being sick cuddling into me and let them have a good feast on everything surrounding them. Our first real farm animals. You will be so missed Max

06.01.2022 It’s time to harvest the garlic!

06.01.2022 So good when nature is working with you. These aphids are about to meet one of our resident lady beetles #nosprayneeded

05.01.2022 We can’t wait to be able to provide our local community with boxes of this good stuff every week. We’re getting closer and we’re sorry for the wait to all of those of you who have been messaging us asking when our veg will be ready. We just want to make sure we can be consistent before we start delivering to your local corner store. We’re coming soon!

05.01.2022 These Chioggia are the sweetest beats we have grown yet. Definitely something we will be growing again! #coolvegetables #organic #organicfarming #organicvegetables #local #localvegetables

02.01.2022 What a childhood!

02.01.2022 It’s been an emotional day on the farm for me today. Giving Macca extra love whilst we grieve our little mate Max. Then Sarah pokes her head in my door and says Em! We’ve got baby turkeys! The cycle of life
