24.01.2022 " " ! Positive vibe right before gym, love it. I have been quiet with anything training related.... So here it is. Today I did squats, romanian deadies and Bulgarian splitty squatty thingies. That doesn't sound very interesting training does it? That's my point. A training should not sound interesting on the paper but how you execute the intensity- that's the big picture you should not drift away from. I can confidently say that within those 3 exercises, I made sure every rep was perfect and intense. Make the rep count!

So here we were today at my first ever competition. Although our goal was for a longer cut but Mitch is happy with his desired fat drop and wants to maintain the fat and add more muscle from here on. ... So are you curious to what kind of diet, training and intense cardio we followed? - calculated sports nutrition for performance. - progressively overloaded training to maximize fat burn. - no cardio. There were so many more variables implemented and other factors taken into account according to how we progressed on weekly basis including; refeeds, diet breaks, training de-load, training periodization, sleep and NEAT. And how do I implement change to my diet and training as the body changes? ... Those are some of the questions you should ask yourself before jumping on a fitness goal. Training effectively, eating right and balancing an overall energy is simple. Train for strength and progressive overload over time, find your maintenance calories by monitoring how your weight is moving, adjust your macros (carbs, protein and fats) based on how you're performing at gym and how the body composition is changing. Have a minimum steps target for a consistent energy expenditure. Easy right? So let's get planning because that's the important part of beginning something the right way. This will be 9 years of squatting and readjusting from time to time and I'm still trying to perfect the movement to suit my body mechanics. . I love to invest most of my effort in the basic training. It's easy to track training progression and be aware of any mechanical restrictions that you can address which could improve your lift. Machines are great to increase overall volume progression for hypertrophy and fat burn. ... . I pay close attention to all my clients' body mechanics as well and create training and exercise variations over time to find the right training approach. 13.01.2022 12 week transformation done right. Trainer: what do you expect to achieve with your body in 12 weeks? Client: I want to get leaner. ... From here on it depends on the trainer. They will either make you feel like you're in hell (cardio) every time you train, make you do crossfit (even if you did not ask to learn that), or teach you proper form of weights training, help you balance your energy and invest most of that energy on performance (strength). No cardio was administered. Food intake increased compared to starting point. 11kg fat dropped and lean tissue increased. Strength and energy better than ever before. Client was not put in hell and goal achieved. Happy trainer, happy client.

07.01.2022 What moves the weight? If you said muscle then you're correct. How important is it to you to lift more and more weight during a gaining phase? That's how you track your progress right? And of course the weight increase on the scale which is also a good sign of muscle increase and fat ;)... So why is it when it comes to dropping body fat, we completely neglect the training performances? Shouldn't we track our muscle retention based on training performance? if muscle moves the weight then it should continue to perform relatively as strong as your first week of cutting. Of course some minor factors contribute in loss of some strength in particular exercises which also become challenging with deficit calories. BUT.. simply accepting that you'll get weaker during cutting is allowing for lesser training intensity. Coaching is all about improving your training performance, providing measured nutrients in relation to all the information about you, making food adjustments week by week based on your progress. 02.01.2022 Today's transformation spotlight is @sam_mrf who joined our team to prepare for a bikini competition. Like any new client whether competing or after changing body composition, we assess their current body composition, training capabilities and their ability to follow a plan. . Sam was already lean enough but did not have enough muscle to complete her physique. Sam had been training high volume and not enough powerlifting or not at all. Sam was coachable as she could fo...llow a plan and would report to us to a coach's expectations. . So we began to work on her strength first. Learning the four big movements (squat, deadlift, chin up and bench) from ground level. Sam would become frustrated as these exercises were very complicated and required a lot of effort (read that again). With the increased training demand and increased calories, her body composition changed exactly how we wanted - increase muscle and maintained body fat. Although the increase of calories was a mental challenge for Sam coming from restricted calories to eating more but with weekly accurate body measurements, she was reassured to continue the process. .
