18.01.2022 Another successful deployment of Soilwaters ground-based LiDAR to quantify erosion and geotechnical stability at the Mulga Rock Project. Through the use of this technology Vimy Resources are able to accurately quantify (to millimetre-scale) erosion and sediment loss from overburden landforms and wall stability of geotechnical investigation trenches. This information will aid in establishing Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant and Time-bound completion criteria for their post-mine landforms. #WesternAustralia #MiningWA #LiDAR

12.01.2022 SWC helps GME Resources further develop the Devon Gold Project. GME Resources received mining and environmental approval from the DMP this month for their Devon Gold Project. This project follows on from a successful trial mine, which produced 3,590 Dry tonnes, averaging 5.36 g/t, and yielded a surplus of $1.57 million. The full-scale resource is currently estimated at 475,000 tonnes at 2.98 g/t Au for 45,500 ounces of gold, with 72% in the Measured and Indicated categories. SWC conducted the baseline environmental studies and completed the Mining and Environmental Approval documents, including the Mining Proposal, Project Management Plan and Mine Closure Plan, resulting in a seamless approvals process - yet another satisfied customer.

11.01.2022 Soilwater will be at GEMG next month, with our Geophysicist, Celine, making a presentation on the use of LiDAR in the rehabilitation performance and landform stability monitoring. For more details please visit: http://www.gemg.org.au/biennialworkshop.html

09.01.2022 Soilwater commences work at the Abandoned Bulong Nickel Mine. The Bulong Nickel Mine commenced in the early 1990s by Resolute Samantha Limited (RSL). The operations involved high pressure acid leaching of the lateritic ore to extract the nickel, with the leach residue stored in a purpose-built above ground Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) located on the northern margin of Lake Yindarlgooda. In 2005 Bulong Nickel and Bulong Operations became insolvent and receivers were appoin...ted. In 2010 a Direction to Modify (DTM) was issued by the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) to the operators of the site, due to the environmental impacts associated with the TSF; however, this was not acted upon, and the site remains abandoned. The Bulong TSF was selected as one of the Mine Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) pilot projects given the long history of the site and the continued adverse impacts on the environment. The Soilwater Group were successfully chosen by the DMP to commence the initial site investigation of the Bulong TSF and Evaporation Ponds to confirm the environmental impacts and establish the required works needed to rehabilitate and close these landforms. Being selected as the preferred company to complete this work further highlights our expertise in rehabilitation and closure, and comes on the back of our successful completion of the other MRF pilot projects: Black Diamond Rehabilitation and Closure and Ellendale TSF Stabilisation. #soilwatergroup #bulongnickelmine #minerehabilitationfund #mrf #miningperth #miningwa #abandonedminesite

03.01.2022 Soilwater are pleased to announce the completion of earthworks at the Black Diamond Site. This site was identified as one of the highest risk abandoned mine sites in Western Australia and was the first Pilot Project to be rehabilitated by the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) as part of the Abandoned Mines Program. This project represents the first major spend from the Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF). As a result of the work completed by Soilwater, the significant public safety issues and ongoing erosion have been managed through remedial earthworks resulting in improved safety and stability at the Black Diamond Site, which allows the area to be utilised in a safe manner for the benefit of the entire community. #minerehabilitation #MRF #WesternAustralia #abandonedminesite #BlackDiamondLake

01.01.2022 2016 Year in Review 2016, like 2015, was a challenging year for Soilwater as a result of the continued downturn of the mining industry. Although this is the case, 2016 was also a very successful year for Soilwater, having formed strong relationships with several new clients and establishing strategic partnerships with other key businesses. Most notably in 2016, Soilwater won the contract to complete the first two Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) projects in Western Australi...Continue reading
