24.01.2022 Interesting results from the Soil Wealth site in Cowra, NSW. Ryecorn cover crop roller-crimped and then one pass strip-tillage for preparation of direct seeding cucumbers. Looking after the soil, no stubble trouble and increased soil moisture. Worth a look at for cucurbit, brassica and corn growers in the Wide Bay region!

11.01.2022 Cover crop trial on vegetable farm in BUNDABERG. Scavenger sorghum has good germination and early biomass. Sss Sudan sorghum a bit slower but much finer stem a benefit at termination. Tillage radish will hopefully produce high above and below biomass with a bit more moisture (if it ever comes). Soybean and sunn hemp looking good.

06.01.2022 Watermelons have been harvested from the reduced plastic mulch trial in Bundaberg. Super thin experimental 10 micron plastic (60% plastic reduction from conventional mulch) has held up after one season, the test will be in pulling it up in the weeks to come. 20 micron (commercially available) looking good, will be double cropped with Zucchini next season Hydrox Technologies
