24.01.2022 Job hunting or Coaching Support - If you or someone you know is job hunting or could benefit from Coaching support please reach out. I am keen to give three people this week some job hunting support (a conversation and cv feedback) or a 90 minute Executive Coaching session for FREE. My 15 years in recruitment and more recently consulting and coaching experience sets me up to be able to add value at this time. ... I've spoken to three brilliant people over the last two weeks who have taken up this offer, and it was really good to be able to just find a way to be helpful. More information on our Coaching approach at Soji is attached. Private message or email me at [email protected] to organise a time to speak. Were all in this together. https://lnkd.in/gsKrWvC #executivecoaching

21.01.2022 Embed Tools Suddenly, it seems that we all need to be technical experts just to do our job. When it comes to working from home, little things can make a big difference.... How might you: Find time to practice using your most important tools? Build in a buffer for technical login issues in webinar sessions? Make space for informal virtual coffee breaks? Play with others and get comfortable? Share tips and hints that might help others?

20.01.2022 Create Routines When things feel uncertain how do you spend your time? When it comes to working from home, little things can make a big difference.... How might you: Create structure to get things done? Organise your time in predictable cycles or routines? Find a set of online and offline tools that work for you? Let others know what you are working on? Share feedback, learning and support? Check in with others to see how things are working? Tweak your routines to make them even better?

20.01.2022 Connection, Creativity and Change Do you need to engage a large group of people around an important organisational issue in a way that sparks real change? Perhaps we can help.... At Soji Learning and Change we love helping our clients experiment to find answers to their unique and complex challenges. Our work develops leaders, aligns strategy and shapes culture. Our name comes from a Japanese concept meaning a short period of mindful practice. We believe that organisational change starts with the individual and takes dedication, mindfulness and commitment. Our job at Soji is to help leaders reconnect with this idea and as a result make their organisation a better place for everyone who touches it. We approach leadership development, strategy alignment and organisational culture through connection, creativity and change. If you have a roadshow, annual conference or gathering coming up where you need to engage people around important organisational issues, in a way that sticks, some of our approaches may interest you. Story Sharing for Connection Sojis storytelling approach equips leaders with a process and opportunity to source, shaped and share stories that connect, align and inspire. Our four-step process involves connecting to strategic or cultural priorities, identifying target participants, storytelling workshops and then events where stories are shared to bring people together around the things that matter most. Design Thinking for Creativity Over the last few years we have been using human centred design to help clients prototype solutions for their most pressing problems. We use design thinking tools to put people at the centre of a creative problem-solving approach. A highly practical workshop experience where we raise awareness and understanding of issues, collaborate and ideate together get tangible outcomes and actions to take forward. Skilful Conversations for Change We believe that great conversations are at the heart of leadership. Sojis seven conversational practices build the foundation of our approach. We use actor led simulations to build a highly immersive practice environment that allows individuals to challenge how they show up in their most important conversations. Group Visualisation for Alignment and Momentum Sketch Speak is a visual communication system which helps people get from A to B quicker. We use visuals to drive deeper understanding of the things that matter most to our clients. We believe that pictures play a vital role in business communication and no more so than in situations related to people, performance and change. Visuals can share a story, spark a change, sell and idea and solve a problem. Our graphic consultant Guy Downes and lead facilitator Jarrod Siegertsz can design a solution based on or incorporating visuals to grab attention and stimulate the thinking needed to get great ideas across the line. 11.01.2022 Every day we're getting new updates about COVID-19. We're watching closely as the situation evolves. Our heart goes out to everyone who has been impacted by the virus and its ripple effects. It feels as though things are moving at an incredible pace now as organisations and governments around the world escalate their continuity plans. We recognise that no matter what happens next, the scope for our clients to be running in-person meetings and development sessions has all but ...disappeared for the near term. So, we're adapting to make sure we're in great shape to support when you are ready to reconnect. Over the next few weeks, we'll be focussing our full attention to building on our capability and service offering in some very specific ways. If you would like more information on what we currently have available in any of the areas below, please let me know and I'll follow up with details. For everything else, we would love your input. Are there any other areas with which you feel we could help? Let us know. Content Toolkits - Blended learning experiences for individuals and teams for various contextually important topics. 05.01.2022 Coaching is an important part of what we do at Soji. We have been busy over the last six months, as clients have sought both shorter term and longer-term coaching for leaders during 2020. The Soji style of Coaching (see image below), is a strengths-based approach that incorporates brain based coaching methodology and mindfulness techniques. The process we take allows individuals to increase their awareness and encourages them to take action. Coaching supports individual gro...wth and transformation in a tangible way as each session focuses on specific goals or challenges. Here are some of the contexts Soji coaching can work well in: Leading through complex and challenging times High potential talent looking to stretch their performance Leaders working in new roles or with new teams Burnt out talent looking to rejuvenate their engagement Individuals dealing with conflict or unproductive dynamics Leaders driving strategic planning or change processes Individuals looking to integrate challenging feedback Soji coaches bring a future focus, potential orientation, systems perspective and positivity bias to the conversation. Tangible, specific and measurable goals are set up at the beginning of the engagement. We include the coachee’s personal goals for the experience and also organisations goals (by linking in the internal sponsor or coachee’s manager). We often kick off a coaching engagement with the coachee sourcing objective feedback using tools like The Leadership Circle or Human Synergistics Life Styles Inventory. Client testimonials: ‘’Working with Jarrod as a coach is a great opportunity to sharpen your leadership capability. Jarrod brings just the right mix of safe space, leadership depth and accountability to support you to reach your goals.’’ ‘’Having recently been promoted to a leadership role I was offered the opportunity to undertake coaching. It was my first experience of this kind with 7 sessions altogether. The first thing that struck me is how open I needed to be in order to derive the benefits to unlocking my full potential. The beauty of coaching is that it’s personalised and tailored for me. This has made a lasting impression on me and I am grateful to Emma and Jarrod for supporting my learning and making my coaching experience such a valuable one. I highly recommend Emma and Jarrod if you are interested in getting coaching.’’ How did your coach support you in moving towards your priorities? ‘’Extremely well. Jarrod was able to 'challenge' me through questioning to identify the 'real' issues and work through techniques on how not to let the emotional side take hold of frustrating issues.’’ If you or someone you know could benefit from coaching or you are looking to upskill internal coaches or leaders as coaches, please do reach out, we’d love to support.

04.01.2022 Now more than ever relationships with others are going to be critical. At Soji, we believe that relationships are built one conversation at a time. Weve seen how mindful and deliberate communication can lead to amazing outcomes. We teamed up with the very talented illustrator and visual consultant Guy Downes to create this quick sketch clip. Watch it for a few tips on how to be more present in your next conversation.... Can you think of an important conversation you've been putting off, one that could benefit from you being more present? Pick one thing from this clip and apply it in the next few days. 04.01.2022 Rest, Recharge and Refocus At this time of year Jarrod and I like to reflect on the past 12 months and draw into focus what we want for the coming year. 2017 was great for Soji.... We are grateful that we had the opportunity to deliver some fantastic projects which we loved including: A large culture change programme for a brilliant media organisation. Senior leadership development for a number of interesting national organisations. Strategy workshops for some great clients. Simulation experiences around tough conversations with our fabulous actor facilitators. Storytelling and internal events for a valuable government organisation. Rapid prototyping experiences to introduce design thinking to leaders open to innovative ways of problem solving. For me personally it has sparked some changes which have set me up for an exciting 2018. To read the full post go here. https://soji.com.au/rest_recharge_and_refocus/

03.01.2022 Place of work When it comes to working from home, little things can make a big difference. How might you... Use location and time to create a sense of separation? Build flexibility and variety with more than one space to work in? Make your spaces elevate your wellbeing, feel positive and productive? Get others to support you in setting up some boundaries? Organise your resources and have them on hand? Do what you can to reduce distractions? Home Challenge: Share a pic of your home workspace, (it doesnt have to be Instagram worthy), wed love to see where you are now working.

03.01.2022 What now? A process that helps work out what now, next and in the near future We cant quite believe the changes in context that we are all having to adapt to and if you are like us and have your own business, knowing where to spend your time and energy now, next and in the near future, is a key question we need to answer. We love having a good process, so yesterday sitting with our morning coffee in the sunny front year, while our children amused themselves (watched Netflix)...Continue reading

03.01.2022 What's the next important conversation you need to have? How would it feel if it went really well? At Soji, we believe that relationships are built one conversation at a time. Weve seen how mindful and deliberate approaches to interaction can lead to amazing outcomes. To help bring more courage, compassion and empathy into our conversations, we designed a mini toolkit. It focuses our attention and helps us to prepare. You can download your own toolkit and watch a short clip ...that explains how we use it here. http://tinyurl.com/soji01 Try it and let us know how you go.
