24.01.2022 There's now just four weeks until Christmas and we are starting to ramp up the festive spirit at Solar Mad - your local authorised Jaycar Electronics store. Here's a brief look at just a few of the gift lines we have in stock with more interesting stuff arriving every day. Don't leave anything to chance with couriers or the post, shop in-store with a local business instead!

13.01.2022 Considering getting solar at your place? It's important undertake some research first. There are so many resources available that it can be overwhelming but we tend to guide people towards CHOICE - an independent research and consumer advocacy group that's been around for 60 years (visit choice.com.au and search for solar panels) and to LG who have a significant number of resources to help you determine if solar is right for your home or business. The LG Solar Australia site has a number of different videos (all only around 2-3 minutes long) and calculators including one that will show you if and when you might get a 'pay back' from a new solar system. https://www.lgenergy.com.au//solar-savings-payback-calcula

12.01.2022 How’s the internet at your packing shed, regional office or even at your family home? If you’re relying on mobile internet, we have a solution that will improve the reliability and speed of the signal. The Cellferno is typically used in regional and remote areas where a traditional fibre or cable-based internet service isn’t available. It captures and boosts a 4G signal to deliver fast ‘mobile internet’. The uniquely designed box contains multiple antennas and a built-in mod...em to capture the best possible outdoor signal and bring it inside. You can use any sim card provider and mobile data plan. The Cellferno device by Powertec Telecommunications can be connected directly to a computer, network switch or a WIFI access point to provide high-speed internet to devices within a relatively wide area so it’s perfect for agri-businesses with multiple sites on a property. Here’s one we installed at AGnVET Services office in Weethalle last week. From all accounts it’s working like a charm!

12.01.2022 Here's another recent installation on a farming enterprise in Booligal. It's a 10kW ground mount system using 28 x 360 watt Neon 2 panels from LG Solar Australia coupled with 2 x Sunny Boy 4.0 inverters from SMA. This system is the third and final installment of a PV solar system covering three adjoining properties that share 150km of pipeline required to replenish troughs with water for stock. In an region where it's difficult and expensive to connect to the grid, solar is used to generate energy to pressurize the water and power the pumps that service this significant network of pipes.

05.01.2022 When it comes to solar panels, we've always placed quality over quantity and this is one of the reasons we recommend LG Solar Australia. They are the best performing and most reliable panels we've worked with for over 10 years. LG has a STACK of resources that people can access to find out more about solar in general, not just LG stuff. Here's just one example ... a series of calculators to show you how to determine size, output, savings etc. There's also a heap of case studies and research papers about the benefits and payback of solar. Find it here: https://www.lgenergy.com.au/solar-calculators

04.01.2022 Late last year we installed a 22.8kw system on the roof of Vaccari's Bakery in Probert Avenue, East Griffith comprising 68 LG Neon2 panels from LG Solar Australia which channel solar energy through a series of Enphase Energy microinverters. The impact of the solar system has been immediate and obvious. This year they will SAVE $15,000 on their power bill which equates to a 40% reduction. See what Erin Vaccari has to say below!
