23.01.2022 ATTENTION VICTORIANS - Huge annoucements today for BATTERY, SMALL BUSINESS, SOLAR & HEATING AND COOLING Solar photovoltaics (PV) rebates to be brought forward, bringing the total number of rebates to 65,000 for this year, and 140,000 over the next two years ... 17,500 solar BATTERY rebates over three years and the removal of postcode eligibility requirements. 5,000 battery rebates will be available in 2020-21, with rebates released fortnightly in line with the current schedule of rebate release dates. The current rebate rates will continue through to the end of this financial year ie until 30 June 2021 Th 15,000 solar PV rebates for Victorian SMALL BUSINESSES over the next three years. Extra rebates + 15,000 rebates for small business + heating and cooling upgrades + energy efficiency upgrades on social housing + $250 discount/cash back in bills for low income earners next year .... 20.01.2022 People ask about the longevity of solar, this week we removed a system that is 19 years old. Back in the day it cost $19,000 for a 1.5kw system. It has served them well but was far from meeting their energy needs. We replaced it with a 17.5kw system using LG solar panels and a Fronius inverter. Their original inverter was also a Fronius and will be sent to the Museum of Modern Solar (MOMS, not sure where thats located yet lol). LG Solar Australia & Fronius Australia

19.01.2022 Solar Panels and hail..... We often get asked - How do panels fair up against hail? The answer is they are tested with a 1 inch ice block at 90km an hour. ... Thats pretty robust, in our area we are really lucky that we havent had the freak hailstorms that other areas have. The below picture is from the weekends storm in QLD. Hail stones the size of cricket balls. Theres not much you can do to protect against that. So whats our advice in this case? Your solar system should be covered in your house insurance. Do you need to increase your insurance to cover your new investment? If so, remember to insure for the full price of the system NOT your out of pocket. Your out of pocket included rebates that 1 you may not be eligible for again and/or 2 may not exist when you need to make a claim to replace your system, or components of.
