25.01.2022 A warm and sunny shout out to Bondi Beach Public School and Clovelly Public School which are now home to the largest solar power systems of any primary school in Sydney’s east. Thanks to the efforts of their Principals, P&Cs with the support of our program, plus funding from Department of Education, and grants from Waverley Council and Clovelly Community Bank Branch. With most of the cost of the systems paid for externally, the schools will start saving $$ in less than a year. Read more: https://bit.ly/3iuDVq4 #solarmyschool

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Waverley Public School on their new 30kW solar power system. It's set to slash 1/3 off their annual energy bills and avoid carbon emissions equivalent to taking 350 cars off the road over the panels' lifetime. To celebrate, 70 students from all years built solar lights. These lights are sent to students in developing countries without access to power. #solarmyschool #endenergypoverty #solarbuddy #renewableenergyfuture SolarBuddy.org Waverley Council

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Bondi Public School on their new 23kW solar power system launched today! Inspired and spurred on by a passionate group of Year 6 students last year, the school has made renewable energy a reality. In the words of Principal Michael Jones: Our planet will be in good hands if tomorrow’s leaders are of this calibre. Their solar panels will cover 20% of their energy bill, and produce enough clean energy to power 150 computers annually. The project was enabled through our program, and with funding from Gabrielle Upton and NSW Community Building Partnerships. More information www.solarmyschool.org.a #solarmyschool Waverley Council

13.01.2022 Thanks to a partnership with Sydney electricity network provider Ausgrid, we are spreading the 'sunshine' across Sydney with selected schools. Victoria Avenue Public School in Concord West is the first to install a solar power system recently as part of the program (pictured). By producing free green energy, the 100 solar panels are expected to save the school $6000 a year in energy costs and reduce the school's carbon emissions by 36 tonnes a year. Read the full story: https://bit.ly/3kekJhQ A big shout out to Ausgrid for their vision in supporting renewable energy. Thankyou to City of Canada Bay for their support in making this happen. #Power2U #solarmyschool
