You may be aware of some of the obvious reasons that stress is detrimental, but you may not realise that it could also be the main reason why you can’t lose weight.... Why? There are only two fuels for the human body - glucose (sugar) & fat. When you are in a state of stress, your body taps into it’s survival mechanisms, and needs the fast-burning fuel source, which is predominantly glucose every time. So, what can you do to put your body in the position to burn fat as fuel? Take steps in your daily life to allow your nervous system to find some balance. Choose activities that are calming, centering & grounding. You may find that you achieve your weight loss goals faster by going to a yoga class instead of a spin class. Who would have thought?!
