Don’t let COVID-19 define your business, this too will pass. ... Now is the time to reflect and maybe make change. 17.01.2022 Eve Kent was recently elected Chairperson of her local Primary School Board. One of her first commitments to this role, was meeting and raising awareness with local government on the issues faced by Lesmurdie Primary Schools ageing facilities and the impact it is having on students. It was a productive meeting and she is hopeful for some positive outcomes for the school around these issues.

13.01.2022 Well this is just a little bit awesome! His love for his bookkeeper will never depreciate.

13.01.2022 The payment by employers to employees of the first two fortnights of JobKeeper has overnight been extended again! For the first two fortnights (30 March to 12 April, and 13 April to 26 April), the ATO will accept the minimum $1500 payment for each fortnight has been paid by an employer to their employees even if it has been paid late, provided it has been paid by 8 May 2020 (extended overnight from 30 April). If an employer does not pay staff by this date, they will not be able to claim JobKeeper for the first two fortnights.

13.01.2022 Hi there, At Solde Solutions, we're committed to providing our clients with the best business support we can. Given these unprecedented times we face, we wanted to update you on what we’re doing to ensure your business can continue to run as smoothly as possible. We’re looking after our people by encouraging remote work and cancelling all non-essential travel. Today, we have assessed and made changes to all our IT systems and security and all staff are able to provide you wit...h continuity of service working from their homes if a lockdown or self-isolation period is required. We have cancelled all face-to-face meetings with clients and have cancelled attendance at any PD learning events for the foreseeable future. Any conferences that we were attending have been rolled out by most suppliers via Zoom meetings and other remote webinar logins, so we will still be up to date with the latest technology and system improvements. If you have any concerns about how this global outbreak will impact your business, your Consultant can offer you support with these services: Business continuity planning (aka the lifeboat plan) 3 way forecasting plan (good, bad and ugly scenarios) Short term cash-flow for anyone already feeling an impact (good or bad) Cash position review for working capital loans as scenarios can potentially get worse from here Please contact your Consultant directly, or email us at [email protected] and we will work through your strategic business plan to provide you peace of mind. Lastly, we are staying informed and will try to keep you updated with the state of the economy, whilst also being aware that we don’t want to bombard you with information. I’m an optimist, and believe that people can come together to overcome the most difficult of circumstances. Be a leader, take the steps needed to help guide those around you through these challenging times. Stay healthy, practice good hygiene and listen to the world health authorities on how to progress through these uncertain times. Together, we can get through this. Regards, Eve and the team at Solde Solutions

12.01.2022 I sure do miss my team being in the office and thank them for all their hard work, acceptance of change, and extra hours the past 6 weeks. I’d also like to thank my super supportive husband Rob for his understanding and patience with my long hours, tired end of day brain and for keeping me sane! I couldn’t be looking after my clients as well as we need to at the moment without him by my side.

04.01.2022 This is funny, so we had to share. Have you found yourselves doing this while working during lockdown? I think I’ve been guilty on a few occasions!

04.01.2022 With the holiday season almost upon us, here’s a few timely business reminders before the Christmas break: Although generally you are not permitted to instruct an employee as to when to take annual leave, exceptions apply for firm-wide Christmas closures. Under the Fair... Work Act, if your firm is shutting down over the break, then this will be compulsory annual leave for your employees subject to their employment instrument (e.g. Award) stipulating otherwise. If you are shutting down over Christmas, you may wish to notify major suppliers of your closure and re-opening date. On an individual level, staff should be setting auto-reply messages on their email advising those that contact them while they are away, of their return date after Christmas, as this may vary from person to person. If you account for FBT under the actual method, keep Christmas gifts and Christmas parties to under $300 per head. By doing this, they will likely be exempt from FBT which is of course payable by you, the employer. Consider an early clock off for your employees on the last day before Christmas. It’s always greatly appreciated, and leaves a good lasting impression on the employee for the year ahead. Secret Santa (with a small gift limit of say $10) is always a good way to engender team spirit too!

02.01.2022 While it's not quite business as usual, rest assured, we are all still working hard for you, our valued clients. There’s no time to sit still and feel sorry for ourselves, that’s never been our style. We may be working from home, but we are lucky in our line of work that this has been a fairly painless move. What’s working for us: Zoom communication with our team and clients. Make sure you keep in touch with your clients and staff - its super easy to sign up and start setti...ng those appointments. What we’re finding hard: Not seeing our teammates every day. Washing hair (what’s the point?) Next level juggle with kids being around all day. The not knowing when this will all be over. Chocolate and wine supplies running low. With March BAS just around the corner, we are ready to go. The sooner you can get your documentation to your Bookkeeping Consultant, the sooner we can lodge and get those PAYG cashflow stimulus benefits back to you (if you are in the PAYG system). If you have any other concerns or need assistance formulating a cash flow strategy during this time, get in touch with us and we'll be happy to assist. [email protected] Stay safe and look after your families.

01.01.2022 Our office re-opened this week and we have laughed and had the best time whilst crunching numbers (and eating cake)! So glad to have the team back together - we are ready to charge full steam ahead into financial year end work. Call us if you want to make 2020-21 your most organised year ever!
