23.01.2022 A big thanks to all of those who spared a few hrs for patrol today. Same again tomorrow. Morning looks ok but arvo is looking tight it would be appreciated if you can help out for a couple of hrs tomorrow as we try and spread the load across the whole patrol roster thanks again. jim

22.01.2022 As summer approaches it is time to remind you all that registrations are now due for returning members & open for new members for Soldiers Beach Surf Club. As with all other aspects of life in the new "Covid Normal" the registration process is a little different this season. This year ALL REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ONLINE VIA THE SLSNSW WEBSITE. Simply type in slsnsw & go to the SLSNSW page. Follow the tabs to join. The site will lead you to the payment gateway. Note that membersh...ips are not complete until payments have been received. For existing members: Follow the members tab on the top of the screen to the members portal where your membership can be renewed. Note if you don't have a members portal login/account start one. This will give you access to all of your information on patrols, awards, & SLSNSW news & information updates. DO NOT JUST MAKE A DEPOSIT TO THE SOLDIERS BEACH ACCOUNT AS YOUR MEMBERSHIP DETAILS WILL NOT TRANSFERRED TO US & DELAYS IN PROCESSING YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL OCCUR For new members: Click on the JOIN NOW tab in the main screen & follow the process to the payment gateway. Note our fees for this year have been frozen and are the same as last season. Current as of 18/August/2020 As a result please note that the Gym at the surf club is closed as the requirements cannot be met. Remember to use the sign in app at the club EVERY TIME YOU ENTER THE CLUB. Please use the sanitizing stations provided & when in the building & follow the directives & information signs that have been placed for your safety.

13.01.2022 Attention Soldiers Members. We now have a Covid-19 safe plan in place which includes attendance tracking. When you enter the club you will see an attendance record or an electronic QR code please fill out the attendance record and take time to read & use the electronic tracking. See the information sheet below. The records will be held for 28 day’s a season required & are then removed in accordance with privacy laws. All electronic information I sent held in Australia by an A...ustralian company and will not be used for any other purpose than contact tracing if required. Please also note the sanitising stations & signage throughout the venue. Please use this equipment and follow the signage instructions to help our club be Covid-19 safe and remain open. 12.01.2022 NIPPER FAMILIES! Today is the day! Week 1 for nippers.... Just a few things to help with Week 1. - completed online registration and payment. - bring the pool proficiency if your nipper is between ages 8-14 and didn’t attend pool proficiency swim at Toukley on Tuesday night. - nippers to have sunscreen on - wear swimwear - wear pink rashie(new enrolments will be given this on Sunday) - water bottle - warm jacket/towel - best if the nipper has been to the bathroom. - nipper to sit behind their age group flag at 9.20 for a 9.30 start. - nipper caregiver to scan QR code located around the club house and on age managers folder. - nipper caregiver to remain next to their youngest nipper for age manager to greet you. - and a great big smile Arrival times: Age managers 830am for beach setup and induction Water Safety 9am for induction and sign on New nipper families and those that do not have their pink rashie vest 9am. ($6 for reenrolling nippers , free for first time Regos) payable via credit card. 9.15am for all other nipper families to be ready for 9.30am start. COVID-19 Please remember to follow club directions Do not attend if you or your nipper or family member has been unwell. Wash hands regularly and use sanitisers where possible. Adhere to 1.5m spacing Check in the QR code located around the building and on the age managers folder. See you soon!

11.01.2022 RIP RICHARD FIELD It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of club stalwart & life member Richard Field who passed away this morning. Richard's lifelong contribution to Soldiers Beach Surf Club will be sadly missed. Our condolences go to his family. Vale Richard!

10.01.2022 Nippers Registrations! It’s that time of the year again. We are looking forward to seeing all our nippers back on the beach starting 8/11/2020. Registrations are online this year. Please go to the SLSNSW Website and follow the links. ... We have an information session at 7pm on 13/10/20. Here we will give you a little information regarding the upcoming nipper season. However we are always available via our Facebook page to answer your questions. Nippers under 8-14 will need to undertake a pool proficiency swim. This has been booked in for 3/11/2020 at 6pm-7pm at Toukley swim centre. This time slot on Tuesdays will continue throughout the season for pool proficiencies and swim fitness for our nippers. Swim proficiency lengths for each age groups are as follows. 8-25m any stroke and 1 min float 9-25m any stroke and 1 min float 10-25m freestyle and 1.5 min float 11-50m freestyle and 2 min float 12-100m freestyle and 2 min float 13-150m freestyle and 3 min float 14/SRC- 200m freestyle in less than 5mins and 3 min float. I will attach a form if your nippers swim coach would like to fill it out as an alternative to attending the pool proficiency swim. Ocean proficiency swim will take place on morning of 7/11/2020. This is for those wanting to attend carnivals in age groups 9-14. Otherwise this will be done during normal nipper Sunday activities. Of course we will be following Covid-19 health restrictions and adjust our activities throughout the season as necessary. Please get online and register your nipper so we can have loads of fun and learning at Soldiers Beach on Sunday’s this summer!

08.01.2022 Help needed. Tomorrow we are looking for a first aider to attend the Mariners memorial at the lighthouse 11am. Just a standby person in case for 1 hr whilst ceremony is happening. Need to take a first aid kit from surfclub. Please call if you can help. Shags 0404498089

07.01.2022 As of Friday July 3 SLSNSW has released a Covid-19 return to sport policy. Please see attached policy documents for a return to club facilities under the Soldiers Beach Covid-19 policy. Please note ALL who enter the craft room must sign a details register as per NSW Govt. legislation for tracing purposes. The Gym area is closed as the space does not allow for the required 4 square meter social distance requirements. Sanitising of personal and shared training equipment during ...sessions is the responsibility of the individual. Handwash stations & sanitising solutions are available throughout the craft room area DO NOT REMOVE THESE FROM THE CLUB!. Please refrain from using the club showers & toilets and practice a train & leave policy as per SLSNSW guidelines. Avoid gathering in groups both inside & outside the club facility and Practice social distancing at all times. Remember that all of the clubs activities are visible to the public and members are requested to set a publicly responsible example. 02.01.2022 It is again with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of a Soldiers Beach Surf Club legend and Life Member Cliff Spong. Cliff was instrumental in the introduction of IRB’s to surf lifesaving. Cliff was a highly accomplished competitor and coach and a National & World Champion in both IRB’s and beach flags. Our deepest sympathies and condolences go to his family. Vale Cliff Spong.
