15.01.2022 SOLUNE I - Kattleya x Solenn Design. Ceramics. Candles. Kattleya and I met while we were studying communication design in Sydney. We’ve always wanted to collaborate on something creative together and we’re so grateful this project combines our crafts perfectly. Our main goal was to create a lasting, thoughtfully designed piece that you can keep forever :)... Solune I is a ceramic soy candle that embodies the vision of the ‘sun’. The concept is based on creating the visual of ‘sunlight filtering through clouds’. The white porcelain vessel is carefully etched with abstract cloud tops, which gives the imagery of ‘rays of light’ filtering through as you light the candle. The essence of this project hopes to emulate that feeling of calmness and mindfulness of lighting a candle and the golden hue of a sunrise. We wanted the candle to be an experience and a lasting piece that would be perfect for any space and home with its minimalistic design. The beauty of handmade pieces means that they vary slightly and each are one-of-a-kind.
