She collates research as to possible detremental short term and long term effects which can occur if children have the curriculum pushed down too soon... As a tutor, I spend time in restoring a childs self esteem, repairing their self image that they are "Stupid, hate school, I will never learn to read, or math i...s too hard..." Quite often it is because these children had to sit still, and formerly learn before they were developmentally ready, and worse had to complete tests which they found stressful.
