23.01.2022 As the Libs and bosses attack workers and the environment hit the streets tomorrow to fight back. Protest Morrison's climate destroying "Gas led recovery" 12 noon Town Hall. Then join the rally for 350 workers disgracefully locked out over Christmas by Coles.... Marx wrote these words a long time ago, but he could've easily been describing Australia 2020: "Capitalist production, therefore, only develops the technique and the degree of combination of the social process of production by simultaneously undermining the original sources of all wealththe soil and the worker. Fight capitalism, another world is possible.

22.01.2022 The black lives matter protest tomorrow has been moved to the Domain, 12 noon. No justice, no peace. I CAN’T BREATHE - BLACK LIVES MATTER JUSTICE FOR DAVID DUNGAY JNR AND ALL BLACK DEATHS IN CUSTODY... https://www.facebook.com/events/745934522844647/

16.01.2022 Join our essential post-election panel tomorrow night. Incredible line-up of U.S. speakers from Black Lives Matter, Democratic Socialists of America and Marx 21.

12.01.2022 Today we joined the family of David Dungay Jr, defying police and Liberal party threats to take to the streets of Sydney. David was killed on camera in Long Bay in 2015 and our demands were for justice, an end to mass incarceration of Indigenous people and an end to the apartheid on the NT intervention. Fund communities not cops and prisons. The protest was met with disgraceful police repression, hypocritically under the guise of Covid-19 public health orders. There were a nu...mber of arrests and fines. Protests didn't create the Covid-19 spike- the people we are protesting against did. All the evidence from Victoria points to employer negligence and workplace transmission and inadequate health resources are to blame. The Libs and cops were concerned about us spreading our anti-racist message, not Covid 19. Down the road at Pitt St Mall hundreds gathered to shop, mostly without masks. Despite the attempts to silence our message, over 100 000 petition signatures were delivered to NSW parliament by the Dungay family demanding charges be laid on the guards that killed David Dungay Jr. Our ability to make such a massive public statement is a testament to the courage of the Dungay family and the mass anti-racist work of supporters. Solidarity with the inspiring #blacklivesmatter struggle in the U.S. The protest will not stop until we get justice and smash this racist system. Thanks Aman Kapoor for the photos

09.01.2022 PROTEST TOMORROW Location: Department of Home Affairs (Immigration and Citizenship services) Speakers include:... Jenny Leong, MP and NSW Greens Multiculturalism spokesperson Michael Thompson, Secretary NTEU NSW Plus a speaker from the University of Sydney Students' Representative Council Lift the travel ban from China and implement a health based approach No to quarantine on Christmas Island Support international students wanting to come to Australia No to racism and politics of fear Solidarity with Wuhan and Chinese community Last week, the World Health Organisation declared the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) a public health emergency. A serious public health response is certainly needed in Australia to minimise the spread of infection and properly treat anyone who is sick. However, the decision by the Morrison government to deny all entry to Australia for people travelling from China (apart from Australian citizens and permanent residents) was directly counter to the advice of the World Health Organisation not to close down borders. Morrison is more concerned with appearing tough on borders and stoking fear in the community than with a proper health response. Many Chinese people are reporting an increase in racism in daily life. This travel ban will have a massive disruptive effect on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, including many students preparing to travel to Australia to study. The use of Christmas Island detention centre to quarantine Australian citizens being evacuated from Hubei province must also be challenged. The Australian Medical Association has criticised its use as inhumane given the long history of trauma in the centre for refugees held in offshore detention. People being evacuated should be brought to the Australian mainland where they can access appropriate medical care. Join us at this rally to stand against racism, and to stand with all Chinese people and the city of Wuhan and the Hubei province suffering at the epicentre of the spread of infection.

07.01.2022 Out building the upcoming Black Lives Matter protest to stop black deaths in custody today. Strong response. The action will be on Sunday July 5, 1pm in the Domain. ... https://facebook.com/events/s/stop-black-deaths-in-custody-b/4110164879055493/?ti=cl If you want to help poster and leaflett station message the page. The BLM protests here have already had an impact with WA government being forced to get rid of its policy of imprisoning people for not paying fines. In 2014 Yamatji woman Ms Dhu died in custody after being imprisoned for non payment of fines. Now we need to keep building the power we need to get justice and for deep change. The protest will demand: Stop Black Deaths in Custody - Justice Now! Defund Police and Prisons - Build Communities Shut Youth Prisons - Bring the Children Home Stop the NT Intervention #StopBlackDeathsInCustody #BlackLivesMatter

05.01.2022 NATIONAL REFUGEE PROTEST TOMORROW! Anti protest threats were defied tonight by hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters in Sydney. The Public Health Association Chief exec is say protests can go ahead safely. ... Morrison is a vile hypocrite and a committed racist and we must fight back. Hundreds of refugees brought from Manus and Nauru are being held in detention centres and hotels in Melbourne and Brisbane. Many have not received the medical care for which they were brought here. The government has refused calls to release them during the pandemic despite the high-risk detention environment. The refugees are continuing to stage regular protests inside detention to call for their freedom. Refugee supporters are again holding protests outside detention hotels in Melbourne and Brisbane on the weekend of 13 June. Join us in Sydney to rally in solidarity and demand that the government free all the refugees now. Please observer coronavirus precautions if you are coming to this rally on Saturday: * Don’t attend if you have been unwell * Wear a mask if you can, RAC will also have its own supply of masks for those who don’t have one * Practice social distancing by standing spread apart from others at the rally and on the march. RAC will have marshalls to help remind everyone and facilitate this * We will also provide a hand santisier station at the event for those who need it (location will be announced from the speakers’ platform)
