25.01.2022 Is this a safe knee exercise? Ask me last year, I would say no. Ask me now, I say "it depends". A good follow up question would be... "Depends on what?" .... capacity of tissue involved in the movement (ie: muscles tendons ligaments bones cartilage) sensitivity of involved tissues - is there pain or discomfort? . If you have #knee issues, this might even be uncomfortable to watch - i know, i had problems with mine for a long time! No such problems now. The key to successful #rehab is identifying the problems and what perpetuates them. Essentially, to reduce what is sensitising the area, and improve the tissue capacity of ALL structures involved - that means the structures directly involved PLUS all of the supporting "accessory" muscles. #strength #Rehab #training #Myotherapy #Physiotherapy #Deadlift #benchpress #squat @bodyworldstkilda

24.01.2022 IT'S MONDAY #international #bench #day What are you gonna do about that #Melbourne ??? If you're in #stkilda 5km radius you're in luck, DM for info if you'd like to lift heavy things @bodyworldstkilda

23.01.2022 TRAIN UGLY to look good . Some advice from @realresultscoaching I'm trying to put into action. . Everyone plateaus eventually in their training - you get to a point where gains are hard going.... You can't outsmart your muscles into growing more, you just have to train harder . #strength#rehab#training#Myotherapy#physiotherapy #stkilda#melbourne#Melbourne fitness#uglyisbeautiful See more

22.01.2022 Let's get gyms open again!

20.01.2022 I wasn't happy with my bench today. Then i realised i could only do 2, maybe 3 reps on this weight this time last year Here is 100x7, and it's my 2nd set, so fatigued. Not amazing but constantly improving .... Also gotta test the new camera #strength #Rehab #Myotherapy #Physiotherapy #Deadlift @bodyworldstkilda See more

19.01.2022 Recovering from injury? Looking to bridge the gap between physio rehab and high performance? Just want to get strong?... I'm starting a small intake of new online-based clients. I'll be testing out a new system and creating resources for it over the next couple months, so I will be offering reduced pricing for 5 spots. DM me for details, lets chat about YOUR goals and how to make them happen. @bodyworldstkilda

18.01.2022 The shoulder press is a BASIC strength movement but there's a LOT of thought behind how I coach it. Almost hit the character limit for the description

16.01.2022 You've been patient, we all have - now it's time to get off your arse and lift heavy things!!! I have a few spots left, DM for info

15.01.2022 Hi everyone. I’ve just received an update from the Myotherapy Association regarding the COVID-19 status. Provided that proper hygiene standards are maintained, which of course they always are, their advice is to continue running the clinic until such time as the government specifies the service as non-essential. This means that I will be continuing to provide myotherapy consultations throughout this crisis period. In order to continue operating with as little risk as possible... to myself, my continuing clients and my family, I ask that if you are at risk of being compromised with COVID-19, that you defer your treatment until the danger is passed. I’m currently investigating the possibility of video consults as well as an online rehab coaching stream. There is more to muscle and joint health than just manual therapy! . I hope you're all doing ok! Stay healthy, stay safe, stay home. #covid_19 #Myotherapy See more

15.01.2022 We're not here to chase comfort. . #strength #rehabilitation #training #oldschool #gym #Myotherapy #physiotherapy

14.01.2022 Who the fk thought it was a good idea to do 30 reps of anything??? _ . Maybe i can rename this page "biceps r us" . @realresultscoaching @bodyworldstkilda #biceps#gym#Melbourne#Myotherapy#physiotherapy#oldschool #stkilda

12.01.2022 This is why video review is a good idea . I mean it's obviously a good idea but in this case, watch my lower back as i start the lift (attempt). . Notice the bar isn't going anywhere but my back is buckling sightly.... A bit of #flexion is fine ***for me*** - I don't have any back issues and this isn't a crazy pb or anything. . But if you are in a phase of rehab that doesn't permit this flexion under load? . #video your lifts #review them #adjust your technique adjust the weight show your #coach, get #advice . Take #responsibility of your #recovery! #strength #training #deadlift #fail #Myotherapy #physio #rehab See more

06.01.2022 "Should I use creatine?" I'll give you three versions of my answer: 1) Don't bother - you may have already assumed this by the pic :p . 2) You already should be getting more than enough from your diet. Swipe to 2nd pic.... . 3) The amount of creatine your body produces (1-2g per day) is regulated by dietary intake - ie, the more you ingest, the less you produce. Yes you can do a creatine "cycle" where you supplement to boost creatine stores - the difference this will make in your training varies from person to person. Be aware that if you are one of those who benefits from it, you're likely to go through a slump when cycling off it. Additionally, it makes you hold water. It also makes you more prone to cramps. Definitely don't use it if you play a sport that involves running. It MIGHT make you stronger and if it does, you MIGHT get weaker when you come off it. But if you ever want to try it, its very very safe and totally up to you. . I would actually love to hear from anyone who disagrees with this AND who has actually had a positive experience with creatine AND who has actual data regarding their strength before and after a creatine cycle. I'm interested in what works and open to have my mind changed! But I'm not gonna hold my breath :-) . Really, the creatine thing isn't a big deal but it does annoy me, - people selling a product that no one really needs - it's a cash in on the magic pill people are looking for #creatine #supplement #dontbother #strength #training #myotherapy #physiotherapy #rehab

06.01.2022 So gyms are shut and the retailers are all out of stock for home gym equipment... Try this one to keep your glutes going! https://youtu.be/mnF4JM9mbbo

03.01.2022 I spent 8 months of this year unable to help people. It's good to be back ... Also i am tired and glad to have a day off tomorrow .... #Myotherapy#physiotherapy #rehab#strength#training#gym#melbournefitness #stkilda#lockdownover See more
