25.01.2022 Hey, likers and followers, were planning a trip for next weekend - the 7th to 9th of March. If youd like more details, send us a message and well get in touch!

25.01.2022 Blue skies, spectacular views, and SO MUCH SNOW!! Mt Skene is amazing!!

24.01.2022 Dont camp or drive up creek and river beds! Our Compliance Officers have been finding more and more people driving up and camping close to or in creek and rive...r beds recently. When people drive along and camp in or near creeks and river beds, they pollute the waterway, even when its dry, with their waste and toilet paper, with their rubbish, and with fuel and oil from their vehicles. Many of these waterways supply drinking water for people, including Melbournes drinking water. There are regulations about driving along and camping near waterways, including: No camping in a State forest within 20 metres of any alpine bog, dam, bore or waterway. Do not use or dispose of any soap, detergent or similar substance within 50 metres of any alpine bog, dam, bore or waterway. Ensure that portable toilet facilities are situated more than 100 metres from any alpine bog, dam, bore or waterway. Do not drive off mapped roads and tracks along creek and river beds. Penalties can include infringements and/or prosecution. Forest Fire Management Victoria officers will be patrolling forests and parks over the weekend, watching out for illegal camping, driving and for unattended campfires. Please do the right thing and look after our forests and waterways for the future. #forestsforall Forest Fire Management Victoria West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority Four Wheel Drive Victoria Gippsland Four Wheel Drive Club Snatchem 4X4 Gippsland Bairnsdale Camping & Outdoors Victorian High Country Huts Association ABC Gippsland TRFM Bairnsdale Advertiser Gippsland Times Latrobe Valley Express Yarram Standard Foster Mirror South Gippsland Sentinel-Times The Great Southern Star Warragul Drouin Gazette Briagolong Hotel Briagolong Blue Pools

19.01.2022 Today the first ever strategy for Four Wheel Driving was launched, which aims to improve the States management, promotion and marketing of four-wheel driving o...pportunities in Victoria. The Victorian Four Wheel Drive Strategy (2017-2021) looks to increase the recreational and regional economic benefit four-wheel driving delivers to greater Victoria by utilising the extensive and nationally significant 45,000 kilometres of recreational four-wheel drive tracks. These tracks allow Victorians to access and explore the states magnificent alpine region, wildlife-filled forests and lowland grasslands. 19.01.2022 Think of this as "bush television" for at home. I put this hour-long video on as something in the background while I did the kids-are-finally-in-bed clean-up. Except I sat and watched the whole thing. Its quietly mesmerising.
