23.01.2022 WHERE AM I ? This week we are focusing on some of our favorite tours and will chose a day to share with you all.... Can you guess where we are? Challenge 2: (This is an easy one) This is DAY 4 of which tour?... After breakfast this morning we discover Beerenberg Farm and enjoy a tasting of the delicious jams and preserves. Next, we enjoy a visit to The Cedars. Lovers of fine art and charming gardens will enjoy this country property known as the home to iconic landscape painter and early conservationist, Sir Hans Heysen. Be captivated by the original works displaced in the furnished home. We then have free time in Hahndorf for the afternoon. The town is a superb flashback to the nineteenth century with its smallgoods shops, bakeries, pubs, eateries and attractions housed in authentic surroundings along the main street. Meet early this evening for dinner before we travel to the Lights of Lobethal Festival. This Christmas festival has been lighting up the Lobethal Valley in the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Hills for over sixty years created by the community of Lobethal. In the true spirit of Christmas, a tradition that has continued for over 60 years began, and has now evolved into the largest Community Christmas Light Display in the Southern Hemisphere. Tonight Main Street comes to life when the community (and Santa!) joins in with the Christmas spirit through participation and support of their annual Christmas Pageant Parade. There are lots of food & market stalls and a fantastic festival atmosphere. Also not to be missed is the living nativity! A 15min traditional re-enactment of the events of the first Christmas, complete with a real baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, Angels, Wise men, and a large menagerie of animals featuring camels, donkeys, goats, lambs, calves, tame doves, a baby alpaca and a dog, all set in a straw strewn stable producing the appropriate sights, sounds and smells.
