25.01.2022 Yup! And how much fun it is! (And thanks to whoever made this photo - I wasn't able to ascertain its origin)

25.01.2022 Much discussion on the Web about group singing and Covid19 at the moment. A big challenge for vocal groups of all sizes - we can learn individually but the fine tuning of co-produced vocal sound requires time, hearing others and yourself at the same time, eye-contact, breath alignment and 'hearing' the pauses. And can those of us who love doing this live without it? I'm sure group vocalisation has been part of human life for even longer than language! And I know I'm missing it a lot

21.01.2022 While we are singing at home for April, here's a collection of voices that is just uplifting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HezxInuN1YA

21.01.2022 Come early to our 8 December concert for wine and a walk in the gardens of Urrbrae House!

20.01.2022 Thanks to Music SA for providing this guide for both performers and audience members. Well meet again...

20.01.2022 Anne says - On the 22nd of March we will be singing at Elliott Gardens Retirement Village, Port Elliott. Long-time friends Meg and Dave, who live there, invited us to come and sing. I sang at their wedding and have a surprise in store for them!

18.01.2022 Who would believe this is her 80th?? Plenty of puff there!

17.01.2022 Across the world, singing groups are still waiting for clearance to gather in close proximity and make beautiful sounds! While research using vapour to track the movement of expelled breath from trumpets and clarinets is proceeding, the results from singers is large clouds of expanding gas that billow out from behind masks and perspex shields. Bit like a new universe beginning! Solstice will assess again at the end of July. In the meanwhile, enjoy my pansies covered in raindrops!

13.01.2022 The wonderful Angela playing the HB song...

07.01.2022 A great workshop and concert in Auburn on the 1st of June! Thanks to everyone who came.

07.01.2022 Looking forward to 2 gigs coming up this month; the first at Lutheran Homes, Glynde and the Second at Elliot Gardens Retirement Village at Port Elliot. Well be performing some of our old favourites plus some of our newer pieces. For myself, I find that music really lifts the soul and it can have many positive effects on our lives including improving mood and reducing stress or anxiety. For those experiencing memory changes, music can bring back precious memories, enable speech in some who no longer usually speak and invoke special memories, linking them to those significant to them. 04.01.2022 New cards and flyers - fabulous!

04.01.2022 From our lovely Solstice alto, Philippa: Im really looking forward to our Christmas concert at historic Urrbrae House on 8th December at 3pm. Urrbrae House was built for his family by Peter Waite - pastoralist, magistrate and JP - and the extensive gardens are especially beautiful in spring - check out https://www.adelaide.edu.au/waite-historic/gardens/ Well be singing some of my favourites in this concert, including One Small Child, Coventry carol, Stille Nacht and Holiday Romance. Contact the Friends of Urrbrae House for tickets or further information on Ph: 8313 7497 or email [email protected] . Hope you can join us!

02.01.2022 -On the 22nd of March we will be singing at Elliott Gardens Retirement Village. Long time friends who are living there suggested we come and entertain them.
