04.05.2022 New and young workers are three times more likely to be injured on the job than more experienced workers. Young workers also have the highest likelihood of an injury occurring within the first 6 months of starting a new job. Lack of experience, lack of training, and hesitancy to ask questions contribute to the higher rate of injury experienced by new and young employees. Fortunately, employers can take proactive steps to mitigate the risks that these employees face.... Here’s how; - Undertake a company induction and provide safety information. - Provide training and assess their competency. - Provide adequate supervision and monitor your new employees. - Encourage feedback and participation in the workplace to ensure that young employees are not hesitant to ask questions.
