15.01.2022 Shining a Spotlight on Pure Fiji Papermakers. I would just like to shine the spotlight on a very important part of Pure Fiji - the papermakers! It really does take a Village! The handmade paper project in Fiji was initiated by Pure Fiji 24 years ago to provide an income to villagers in the highlands of Namosi. Beautiful handmade paper is made from cellulose found in plant fibre, brought down by horseback to the village. The women then prepare the fibre, which is literally b...eaten to a pulp and dispersed in water. The paper is then used to wrap our handmade organic soaps. 04.01.2022 I am proud as punch to finally introduce you all to the newest member of the SOMA team ( and my first real offical employee !) Everyone , please meet Tara the superstar ...seriously , she’s gold dust like like the rest of the people that help this ship run smoothly! I’ve known Tara now for so many years neither of us can actually remember . I’ve also worked with Tara at other establishments so I know first hand how amazing her work ethic is and how much effort she puts int...o every single thing she does . For as long as I’ve known Tara she’s always done her own nails and has had a love of beauty products, and being a FIFO wife and having 3 small sprogs she’s super organised so I knew I needed her and her skills on the team . After being in the office for the last few months doing the behind the scenes admin I’ve FINALLY convinced her to chuck her hospo job in and join the beauty therapy world. You can teach anyone how to wax a leg but you can’t teach a positive attitude and a sunny, bubbly disposition. You’ll be seeing more and more of Tara as she continues her beauty study .
