25.01.2022 Almost 5 years ago a beautiful person left this world. In my grief I made a decision to donate(with your help) gift sets to women and children who are involved ...in residential treatment programs over Christmas. In that first year it wasn’t something that I intended to do every year, however it somehow grew into that. It’s been an absolute joy and privilege to hear of the level of appreciation from the women who have received gifts and also to see the generosity in my community of friends. If you’re not sure how you would like to donate this Christmas I would love for you to consider this as an option. You can donate either new products or cash. Please let me know which you’d like to do and I can send further details. Xx #christmasspirit #spreadthejoy #christmasgiving #ContentologyNov2020 #NicolaMoras

23.01.2022 Great news to see things beginning to shift!

22.01.2022 Liz Gal has taken on one of the biggest battles a human can in life - overcoming drug addiction. She wasn't sure she'd make it 30, but she turned her life around and now advocates for systemic change for people experiencing drug dependence.

21.01.2022 I saw this today and my first thought was that it’s so true. As I went to post it though I had a realisation. For me personally my using was so public that ever...yone saw it, and I mean everyone. When I got into recovery most people didn’t see it because I left the place I used in and I initially hid it from most others. Who was there to gossip? I was taught to hide that I’m in recovery to keep myself and others safe from the stigma. I was told to make up reasons as to why I had so long out of the workforce. I was told not to tell my son’s friends parents. I was told constantly that addiction IS an illness but don’t tell ANYONE. People will judge you, you won’t get a job, your child won’t be allowed to play with the other kids. Who is there to gossip when nobody even knows? It desperately saddens me that I was told to hide the fact that people can and do recover from addiction. If people don’t know it’s possible how do they find hope? How do their families know to just keep trying with them? I got into recovery at 26 years old and I remember my own mother telling me that there were moments that she thought it would be better for my son if I had just died. She saw no evidence that people changed because once they do they’re so scared that they hide it. It’s time to change that! If we want the public’s support on more funding for treatment we need them to gossip about that person they know in recovery. Let’s give the people of this country reason to stand up and fight with us. Tell your story. Tell it proudly. You have NOTHING to be ashamed of! #illwalkwithyou #wedorecover #iamnotanonymous #weneedbeds #recovery #addiction #endthestigma #fairtreatment #druglawreform

20.01.2022 Girl, 17, found on the nod in park, charged with possession of heroin... What would you think of that as a headline? What would you think of that as headline if your daughter was 17? 20.01.2022 This is Misty Loman. She is "internet famous" for meth progression mugshots. You may recognize her and have seen the post to the left. What you didn’t know is t...he story behind this person. Misty was diagnosed with bone cancer, lupus, and scleroderma (hardening of the skin). She also suffered the deaths of her three children. Which was ultimately her reason for turning to drugs in the first place. What hasn't been shown is the picture on the right. This woman, in all her struggle, has been in recovery for a few months now. If she can fight this fight, there is no reason we can't! #FightForRecovery See more

18.01.2022 Such a much needed service for anyone in NSW Northern Rivers area!

14.01.2022 I feel like this is one of the most open and honest interviews I’ve done on my life so far. https://youtu.be/D-frbODEh3M I started off quite young and I had this stuff that I needed to medicate and then as time went on the stuff that I needed to medicate was the things that I was doing or the things that were happening to me in relation to my drug dependence. So I started off with this little amount of trauma and by the time I got to rehab at 26 years old I sat there and tol...d a therapist oh no I’ve had no trauma. And then in this interview I had to do to get to stage 2 of the program I had to spend 2 hours to sit there and go through my life story. She(the therapist) said to me this is trauma, and this is trauma, and this is trauma.... and I just thought, well I got through it all. I didn’t stop to think - ok I’ve survived because I’ve used drugs to push all of that stuff down... Thanks Living Out Loud for the opportunity https://youtu.be/D-frbODEh3M

08.01.2022 We forget that opioids relieve all sorts of pain not just that of a heart attack or broken leg. We don’t choose to use them for the pain of a broken childhood, but it’s what some people do. When there are horrendous news stories about kids who’ve been abused, there’s a public outpouring of grief; those kids grow up and turn into our clients, but we lose our care for them somewhere along the line.

05.01.2022 I can’t go to the police because what’s the point, I’m just a junkie whore, and it was the drug policy that we have in this country that gave society, almost, the right to use those words Watch the trailer for The Global Commission on Drug Policy’s Empowerment of People Who Use Drugs series here - https://youtu.be/gTfxryasNq8 If you like the trailer you can watch the full series here - https://www.globalcommissionondrugs.org/...
