25.01.2022 So, Im very pleased to announce that apart from great personal concierge services I now offer the great range of PartyLite candle, decorating accessories and fragrances. This is more than just a candle shop, these are products that work for Fathers Day, Christmas, spring & summer decorating. Theyre great for that different client thank you gift. Think of amazing centre pieces for tables at functions, or take away bonbonniere for your wedding. Have a look at the online catal...ogue at http://adrianthecandleman.partylite.com.au and then get in touch. Actually feel free to get in touch first, and then look at the catalogue, your choice really.

25.01.2022 So, Earth Hour is Saturday March 29. Why not take advantage of the great special on the ever popular jar candles to light up your home on the night? https://adrianthecandleman.partylite.com.au/host/guest

25.01.2022 So, with insurance assessors for water damaged garage. Well do it in one pass - what can be kept, what can be restored and what needs to go. Rubbish truck due in 30 minutes for the unrestorable. ... Good news is that the portrait of great grandma can be saved.

25.01.2022 So, next Friday morning (that's May 9) I'll be hosting a Morning Tea at the fabulous Lemon Rind Cafe in Drummoyne. It's a fund raiser for the Cancer Council. Come one come all. http://www.lemonrindcafe.com

24.01.2022 So, not even 10:00am yet and it's been an interestingly good day. It started with an email from LunkedIn saying "Congratulations! You're one of the top 1% most endorsed in Australia for Relocation.". That's a bit cool. To be clear though, I don't lug the furniture around, but I do manage the whole process for you - from quotes to feet up in the new digs. ... And secondly, a client asked if I could meet her for coffee at her house this morning (of course yes). Reason turned out that she had sold a table on eBay which was for collection this morning, and she just wanted a male presence when the buyer came to collect. There's another skill for me - scarey dude (hmmmm)!

24.01.2022 So, its packing and moving day for a client. She being fully confident that Ill have everything in hand caught the early flight to Thailand for a yoga retreat, but was here long enough to wave goodbye to the beloved piano as the specialists loaded it to their truck. Parking being a premium in Paddington, they expected that wed need to use a shuttle ute to ferry stuff between home and truck.... But they didnt count on this personal concierges anal attention to detail. Result - one very large removalist truck, legally parked in an unrestricted space opposite the garage door in the back lane. And, everyone is calm, not just those doing yoga ...

24.01.2022 So, I got a call from a newly engaged. After a fabulous St Valentines Day they decided to tie the knot, in June. While theyre planning on keeping things primarily low key, they were already showing some signs of the stress of the realisation of expectation. She doesnt want to become the bridezilla her brother laughs about. Which is where I come in. They have wisely decided that a personal concierge on the team will make the process much easier. So Ill be able to do som...e of that running around for them, including the non wedding related stuff that still needs to happen. Ill be there for deliveries and pickups, do some research. Ill use my contacts, and (hopefully) give my thoughts on which cake (cake is always a bonus) is best. In short, Ill be beavering around in the background saving their sanity - plenty of time to go crazy later!

23.01.2022 So, a bit of an heads up folks. I'll be having an on air chat with Tim Webster on radio 2UE today at 1:35. Ho Ho Ho

23.01.2022 So, it's been a classically busy personal concierge type day today. Someone has today done for various clients: - delivered more Ikea (no assembly to these ones) - followed up with a property manager - provide access for my gardener for two different clients - access for client's new cleaners for their initial blitz... - dropped of boxes of books to dealer for purchase or donation to Red Cross - dropped off dry cleaning - been put on notice by one client that an injured sibling will be needing some help over the coming weeks And now a quick caffeine hit while I reflect on the dying stages of another financial year. Oh yes, forgot to mention that Someone also enjoyed the Sydney winter sunshine.

23.01.2022 So, doing a pickup from Sydney International. Whats worse when welcoming someone off an international flight ... apologising for it being cold and wet (notwithstanding we need the rain), or as over the past few weeks when it was all smoke haze? Or, should I apologise in advance for Sydney drivers who will forget how to drive now that the roads are a little damp!

22.01.2022 So, last night I did the Mandle Party - a fund raising candle party for Movember (and I don't know where yesterday's post about it has gone). A bunch of guys and one Mo Sista gathered had some drinks, ate some party food, and bought some great candles and accessories. All up we raised $200, which was nice - thanks everyone.

21.01.2022 So, on site today for another client's leaking roof to be fixed. Unlike last time though it's all fine and sunny, not a cloud in sight. Client is on an overseas business trip, so she'll be one happy chappy next time the storm clouds gather. These guys are almost done so the next stop will be to visit an elderly client, deliver her magazines and make sure she has enough of the essentials (you know - chocolate, etc). Then a couple of deliveries to various others, and I might pop over to the Cooks River to see if I can see the seal that's taken up a winter residence.

21.01.2022 So, at Costco for a few client things, of which they need in bulk. Costco is a lot like Ikea, best avoided on the weekend! For those that have braved the weekend large trolley traffic jam - weep over this picture of todays crowd.

19.01.2022 So, often I reflect that as a personal concierge it's not always getting the big or amazing things done that gives the most satisfaction. I have some elderly clients that I do various things for. Not big event stuff, but stuff they need. Simple stuff like making sure there are enough chocolates and her favorite magazines, buying and sending off birthday and Christmas presents, getting the car washed. Small things really but they let these folks have their independence. ... So, now the table has turned as one elderly lady has had to go into hospital. The help I can now give is for the family, again to make sure she has what she and they need as they now juggle hospital and preschool kids. These sorts of jobs don't go into the "Outrageous Requests" folder, but definitely make me feel that my "invented" career serves a very real purpose.

18.01.2022 So, car dropped back to clients home after service & rego. Whats the fastest and nicest way back to the city, in a sunny autumn Sydney afternoon (even for a famously sea sickness prone one)?

18.01.2022 So, as a personal concierge one of the things I frequently do is house checks for clients when theyre away. Normally just a matter of clearing the junk mail, check the mail, bins out & in. You know, just make the house look occupied. But this time, while the client is relaxing in Bali, I noticed a gassy smell in the laundry. The plumber did his tests and diagnosed a leak, which was immediately repaired. Client is still lying on a beach in Bali, and is still relaxed.

17.01.2022 Roofers not wasting time as the weather starts to change due to South East Low. As seen from North Sydney.

17.01.2022 So, Its that dreaded time of year. Ive been busy delivering a few Christmas trees to clients. The car is heady with the fragrance of pine, and errant needles are spiking the unwary. If youre one of the many that finds themself in need of some last minute gifts, or decorating ideas for the Christmas feast, have a look at the great December Specials on offer by PartyLite, and them let me know what youd like. Guranteed pre Christmas NSW delivery if I get your order by Wednes...day 11 December. https://adrianthecandleman.partylite.com.au/host/guest

16.01.2022 So after a couple of days of wetnwild the sun is shining again in sunny Sydney. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, the landscaper for a clients Paddington backyard makeover has been delayed by disasters caused the past few days, but still hoping for him to start this afternoon. Meanwhile Ive done a pickup from DHL Depot at the airport to pick up a fabulous new rug a client ordered from the US. Onsite now to roll up the old (off to charity) and roll out the new. Itll b...e just like repainting the room, only faster and with a lot less fuss. Later arrange redirections for a client family who are off to Turkey for an extended stay, and theres those lamps to get rewired from USA to Australian standards, and checking the handyman replacing a carports support pole. Hmmmm, lunch any time or straight to dinner?

16.01.2022 So, you know what its like. You've made arrangements, checked the logistics, but still something goes wrong. Well that was me this morning. I was picking up a client's mother after her 3 month world cruise (side note was that she had a lovely time, but as someone who gets seasick stepping off a wharf I'm not so sure). Arriving at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay I was met with a lovely harbour view and a lone walker, but no Sun Princess (see the photo). A quic...k check with security revealed that the Sun Princess had instead docked at Barangaroo - not a problem just a brisk morning walk. Things happen and its how we deal with the happenings that keep us on track or off the rails, which is why my clients get me to get their stuff done for them. I was pleased that I was able ensure that the mother was escorted safely to her flight back to Brisbane, to her waiting son (I suspect without even realising the change of docks). Chalk up another one to another feel good job!

14.01.2022 So, there are people out there that need some help. You know that apart from being a personal concierge I am also one of the few Candle Men out there, with access to fantastic PartyLite candles, accessories and fragrances. Im making the offer that Ill personally donate 10% of sales from all candle parties for the rest of October to a bush fire appeal related charity. It might be the Rural Fire Service, Vinnies, Red Cross, Salvos, the local school that got damaged, whatever ...... The host gets to nominate the charity. Hosting a candle party is easy & fun. This is just a bonus. Get in touch, call me direct on 0416 154 875, and well set things in motion. PS youre going to be thinking Christmas presents and decorating pretty soon anyway, so make a difference while you get the jump on things! http://www.someone.com.au/candles.html

14.01.2022 That was fun. I had a very quick chat with James Valentine on 702 Sydney. A listener called in to rant about his candles tunneling down and being wasted. So, pay attention ... SNIP the wick to about 5 mm on your pillars each time before burning SNUFF it out when youre done (and let it burn for long enough - 1 hour per inch of daimeter)... HUG it back to shape and ease the top back over the wick for next time Neglected to mention most important thing though: Stop buying crap candles! http://adrianthecandleman.partylite.com.au

13.01.2022 So, you know that Im proud of my party plan business (with PartyLite). In this segment from the Today Show, Ross Greenwood explains why party plan is a growing segment of the economy, managing to be both fun and profitable. Watch this, then get in touch and Ill explain how it works.... Oh yeah ... not just for the ladies ;) http://today.ninemsn.com.au/videoindex.aspx

12.01.2022 So, here is an update folks ... I've amended my NSW Bush Fires donation strategy. I'm going to make some donations to a fire assisting charity of the candle party host's choice. I'll be donating 10% of sales from parties which are booked and held between today and Sunday November 10. ... PLUS 10% of sales from parties booked from those parties until the end of November. PLUS, 10% for every outside order received by November 10 that is $150 or more. PLUS, $5.00 for every order of the Outback Votive Holder (which I think is very evocative of kangaroos coming through the smoke haze). What can you do to help? 1. Book in a party with me. It could be a weekday or on a weekend, just call or comment here and we'll get things happening. 2. Get a few orders together from some friends, family and work colleagues, and send through to me as a combined order. 3. Share this post on your timeline to spread the word. You can view the catalogue online at adrianthecandleman.partylite.com.au, and if you'd like me to post you a catalogue just let me know.

12.01.2022 Did you see the partial lunar eclipse last night? Crystal clear evening with a full moon like a spot light. I always think such a moon looks like a window to somewhere else, yes? And after that interlude Sydney is bracing for a turn of, well, wild weather. Just on site now for a client for the roofing guy to fix a skylight leak. And Im really hoping he is all done before the gale force winds arrive. Would not be fun on the roof then. Otherwise its a day of client convienences. Got some favorite Ugg resoled for outdoors, picking up an energy gel delivery for a marathon runner, and seeing about getting a ceiling fixed (another client with likely roof leak).

12.01.2022 Hot on the heels of having done Sydney's City 2 Surf on Sunday ... If anyone needs help running let me know.

12.01.2022 So, car dropped back to client's home after service & rego. What's the fastest and nicest way back to the city, in a sunny autumn Sydney afternoon (even for a famously sea sickness prone one)?

12.01.2022 So, do you want free candles to replenish your supplies? Host a $500 party and get a $50 voucher, 30% of the sales, AND a free box of 40 assorted tealights. We have a great Forbidden Fruits guest special this month for your guests. I imagine a day party might be fun. I do have a few nights still free, too. You can call me on 0416 154 875... https://adrianthecandleman.partylite.com.au/Host/Offer

10.01.2022 So after a couple of days of wet'n'wild the sun is shining again in sunny Sydney. 10.01.2022 So, it's not just people that need a break. At Sydney Domestic picking up client's dogs after their interstate Christmas interlude.

10.01.2022 So, here's a productivity aid - a 6'2" Christmas Tree Elf. Makes it easy to measure up!

10.01.2022 So, I think it might be my fault and Sydney, for that Im sorry. Im at Ikea again, for a client, and once again the weather has turned while Im here. Seems every time I leave their car park its wipers and headlights on. Given the number of times Ive been to Ikea over the last few months I think that this explains a lot. ... Im willing to take to blame for this one. Its not Davids fault (even if it is his new filing cupboards that have caused it).

08.01.2022 So, our Olympic athletes have returned home today, which is something I'm quite pleased about. One main reason being that yesterday I met a client's mother at Sydney International when she arrived for a few months holiday. I'm sure that the traffic and crowds would be much worse today! So, the mother commented how lovely the weather was and as we drove to the eastern suburbs how she was looking forward to getting to Bondi Beach, which she assumed wouldn't be too crowded at ...this time of year. Which made me think of Sunday and the City to Surf. Another great day, even if a trifle windy. Lovely to see a couple of clients out in the field, including one who marked her first one off the bucket list last year (as "Adrian, you gave me time to train"). We're in the running season now folks, next one is the Sydney Running Festival (Sydney Marathon, Half Marathon, etc) on September 16. If you need help freeing up time for your long runs, don't hesitate to get in touch.

06.01.2022 So, feeling a bit pleased today. Yesterday at the iCALM (industry body to which I belong) conference they gave me an award - Influencer Of The Year. Must be doing something right, many thanks to all.

05.01.2022 So, just waiting outside a clients for a locksmith and am near the local swimming pool. Ive had a moment to observe the pool patrons and the interesting thing is that everyone going in all seem calm and unhurried. As the patrons range from students, mothers (no dads yet) with the kids, assumedly retired and folk in business gear, I can only assume their calmness comes from a combination of exercise plus (and more importantly?) having the time to do some. Makes me feel goo...d to know that giving back time is what I do for my clients. And for those that ask the question, "dont you have keys for your clients homes?". Yes I do but in this case not for the garage where the door blew shut after she put the handbag and laptop etc in the car and then "just dashed out to put the bin in". So when the garage is opened Ill also retrieve the bag and laptop and drop to clients office. Her car gets a day off!

01.01.2022 So, you know what its like. Youve made arrangements, checked the logistics, but still something goes wrong. Well that was me this morning. I was picking up a clients mother after her 3 month world cruise (side note was that she had a lovely time, but as someone who gets seasick stepping off a wharf Im not so sure).
