23.01.2022 A Very Sad Story we need to share. We decided to share the tragic experience of one of our puppy families to highlight the importance of following the vaccination protocol that is advised by us as breeders and clearly documented & researched by The Weimaraner Club of America. ALL Weimaraner’s are predisposed to immune issues from over vaccinating here’s what can happen when vets don’t listen - ... One of our beautiful healthy puppies went to live with there new family in November, the puppy left us with its first C3 vaccination already done. We make sure all the new owners of our pups are fully aware of the fact that no C5 vaccinations are to be given only C3 as per our Puppy Manual & The Weimaraner Club of America guidelines. Sadly, despite the puppy buyer advising the Vet that they only wanted a C3 vaccination & Vet agreeing that the pup would only be given a C3 it was later discovered that the Vet had administered a C5 for both the 2nd & subsequent 3rd vaccinations. Within a month the pup was showing signs of immune issues, to the point that she needed to be treated & hospitalised at the Emergency Vet. The pups condition continued to deteriorate & when we were contacted by the owner about what had happened to the pup we were able to advise of the medical drugs that needed to be administered as per The Weimaraner club of Americas, which has extensive clinical trials on record explaining which drugs to be used for best results, but this again was disregarded by the Vets. By the 4th day in ICU the puppy passed away Hearing this from one of our Puppy family was devastating to us as it could have so easily been avoided, this is a case of where the Vets thought they new best and it has cost this little pup her life! We put a lot of love, time & effort to bring these beautiful puppies into the world and we take so much care to bring them to the point where they are ready to leave us and go to their new homes. We find fantastic puppy parents who grow to love these puppies as part of there family It’s so frustrating & heartbreaking when something like this happens .. 22.01.2022 CANINE HEALTH ALERT ! See information below from Dogs NSW "There has been a sudden and alarming increase in hookworm infestations. Severe hookworm infestation causes anaemia and sudden death, young puppies being especially susceptible, but it can affect adults as well. With the prolonged drought, followed by rain and warm humid conditions, worm eggs that have been lying dormant suddenly hatch and within 2-3 weeks you can have dogs dying. Symptoms of lethargy, pale to white gu...ms are common and require immediate treatment, often with blood transfusions in severe cases. Puppies need to be wormed from 2 weeks of age, then weekly if concerned or two (2) weekly at most up until 8-10 weeks of age, then monthly. Adults that are on monthly treatments for heartworm and worming should be fine. Make sure what ever product being used will cover hookworm." See more
