17.01.2022 Congratulations to the Class of 2020, the ATAR edition! Well done to all our students who completed their Queensland Certificate of Education, including the Business Diploma. Jacinta Mai our 2020 Academic Captain was one of 30 students in the state to receive the highest score of 99.95.... Another 11 students received a score of 98.85+ which is the rough equivalent of the old OP 1. At 12% of the cohort, it is probably our best ever result. 55 students, 56% of the cohort, received a score of 90+. Our median score of 91.2, roughly an equivalent OP 5, is equal to our best ever result. In the middle of a pandemic, as the first group to go through this unknown system! Truly we dip our lids to this achievement. Georgina Powell our College Captain, topped the state in English and Music with perfect scores of 100, as did Chester Whiting, Starkey House Captain, in Philosophy and Reason. We eagerly await the IB Diploma results in a few weeks.

05.01.2022 THE GOLD COAST IS GOING YELLOW FOR WORLD FOOD DAY On Friday 16 October, the Gold Coast is being asked to swap ‘Gold for Yellow’ as local businesses, schools a...nd community groups GO YELLOW for World Food Day! The concept conceived between OzHarvest Gold Coast branch and local Brand and PR agency - Finding Yellow Co, will help raise awareness of food issues such as waste and insecurity whilst allowing us all to play a small part in the solution. For every $1 donation, OzHarvest can provide two nourishing meals for fellow Gold Coasters in desperate need of food relief. This is our first year to Go Yellow for World Food Day but our plan is to make it an annual event. Our friends at Somerset College and All Saints Anglican School are encouraging Gold Coast teachers and students to add a splash of yellow to their uniform for one day only. While local businesses such as Major Events Gold Coast, BodyScience, Paradox Coffee Roasters, #GoldCoastIsuzu, Tweed Heads Bowls Club, Greater Charitable Foundation, Sustainable Schools Network, Oji Fibre Solutions Tasman, and local politicians including John-Paul Langbroek and Cr. Darren Taylor Division 10 Gold Coast are just a handful of those committing to Go Yellow on Friday 16 October. How about you... will you join us and Go Yellow on World Food Day? Getting involved is simple! Encourage everyone to wear yellow on Friday 16 October and make a donation via https://events.ozharvest.org/go-yellow. If you’d like to really paint the town yellow by lighting up your building or signage, painting an office wall, creating a cocktail, or hosting a yellow-themed morning tea then OzHarvest would love to hear from you! Don’t forget to tag us in your social posts #GoYellow #WorldFoodDay #OzHarvestGoldCoast #FightFoodWaste #OneDollarEqualsTwoMeals so that we can help get the message out and share your support.
