24.01.2022 UPDATE: At this stage FDNA has advised our Saturday Netball competition will be continuing, with some time changes to assist with reducing the numbers at the courts at any one time. Updated information will be available later this evening regarding time changes and we will update TeamApp accordingly. In the interim we will continue to run training sessions as per normal. We understand in these times of uncertainty that people will have varying opinions in regards to these de...cisions and their personal circumstances and we support that. If you display cold like symptoms please advise your coach you will be unable to attend training and/or games. Training is not compulsory at this time, please ensure you make your coach aware should you choose not to attend. 20.01.2022 Exciting news today from the State Premier about being able to see our nearest and dearest in limited capacity as well as the ability for outdoor training in limited numbers. We have already started to receive questions from eager families ready to get back out there. We as a club will need to discuss what is possible on a variety of fronts; team numbers, possibility of adjusted times and days (for an interim period) cleaning of equipment, club room facilities including bath...rooms between sessions, types of drills considered appropriate, comfort levels of coaches and participants in resuming and the feasibility of this. We are keen to get everyone back in the fresh air and and enjoying the benefit of sport to both physical and mental health, but will only be doing so provided it is in line with government guidelines and does not pose unnecessary risk to our netball family. We will be discussing this over coming days and advise the netball community of any decisions made. Stay safe!

Many of you have paid fees for this year, however its become evident any season we are able to have will not look as expected. If you wish to have your registration fees refunded please contact the club via email only to [email protected] with the following details: - Player Name - Account Name for refund... - BSB & Account Number For anyone that does not contact the club, fees will continue to be held and further options provided once we have more information on the season ahead. *Refunds will be $10 less than paid to cover the fees paid to FDNA for the first round played. Refunds will be paid out once per week, you will be advised via email when your refund will be received. See more

The fixtures have been released on MyNetball & we are all set for Week 1. 11.01.2022 UPDATE from FDNA: IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE The Board of Management have followed the advice of Netball Victoria and Government bodies in relation to coronavirus and will continue to do so. We, along with Netball Victoria and other sports recognise the benefits of sport, particularly in times of stress. We appreciate the endorsement of this sentiment in the attached statement.... In accordance with Netball Victoria's recommendations ALL FDNA competitions and programs will be suspended until 14th April or until further advice is received. Somerville Netball Club will therefore cancel all training sessions and games prior to April 14th. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.

So far as there are not gatherings greater than 500 people down at Jubilee park at one time they are advising this Saturdays game will not be cancelled . Please ensure you wash your hands before and after the game and we advise no shaking of hands and group huddle at the end of the game, we encourage you to show sportsmanship verbally... for now . 04.01.2022 UPDATE Hi Members, Long time, no see! We miss you ! There have been multiple updates coming through and that continue to come through from the State Government, Netball Victoria, FDNA and Mornington Peninsula Council on a weekly and sometimes daily basis. ... Given the strict guidelines placed on clubs and our limited court space, were we to resume training now we would need to shuffle almost all teams training times and days to accommodate restrictions as well as requiring an extremely high amount of time to be contributed by volunteers in excess of that already provided. We also believe that as a junior club we will have many members returning to school over the next 3 weeks that have not been in attendance for between 9 and 11 weeks which is going to be another adjustment for these students, we by no means wish to add any further stress to this ever evolving landscape, our family's health and safety is paramount. As a result training will not be starting for at least the next two weeks. We will review the guidelines and requirements in place after the 9th of June. We are sincerely looking forward to the return of training and netball as a whole, we do however want to ensure the experience is positive for all involved. We appreciate your patience and support, and will continue to review all updates as and when we receive them. It is the FDNAs intention (provided that it falls within Netball Victoria and State guidelines) that the 2020 season will commence in July/August and run through until December. This will allow for a full season to be played.... We are aware this may have an impact on players that participate in Summer Sports, so to allow us to finalise dates for returning to training and understanding any impact on our players we ask that a survey is completed for all 2020 players.
