23.01.2022 Last week MMMORE launched the 4th member of the power cube family - Berry Hemp! It’s such a delight to work with Lenka - it’s honest, real and we spend time thinking about colours that represent flavours & tastes... what’s not to love about that! #designedinsommer

22.01.2022 Recently I had the pleasure of branding Studio Wright for Marty. Working with another creative mind, is such a different processes, you speak the same language, the expectations are different and understanding of our own crafts plays into the process. While I have respect and appreciation for all my clients and their own abilities, working with Marty and his desired to understand the elements of design, how I used them and the meaning behind my process was truely a great e...xperience. For Studio Wright, we created a range of design elements to use throughout his client communication, including his master logo and submark. Ps, after looking at Marty’s portfolio, maybe my studio needs wall paper.... #designedinsommer @ Drummoyne Bay

21.01.2022 Throw back today, to a beautiful collaboration between Ovvio Organics & Cafe Sydney- Anthia created a custom blend for Café Sydney - where we had the pleasure of balancing both brands on the packaging! #designedinsommer

20.01.2022 Congratulations to the Bacino Bar Curl Curl team - just this week they reopened with a brand new fit out! While, we all know I’m a coffee lover - never have I ever, stared at so many coffee machines while waiting for my morning coffee - all in the name of research for this artwork - I promise ! #designedinsommer

18.01.2022 Christmas is just around the corner... I’m not sure about you, but this year I definitely feel like time together is the gift I’m after and any gift that can enhance that - is what I’m looking for! Over the years I have seen the importance of buying from small Australian businesses... and isn’t it a bonus when it’s personalised - love it Little Italy Coffee Roasters!

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Magpie Distilling for launching their new SongBird Gin today - such a beautiful colour!

16.01.2022 I’ve been lucky enough to taste these PBs for a couple of months now - I’ve been saving the last morsel of Classic Crunch till today. It’s been such a great adventure to design the labels and shippers for Lenka’s new range of Peanut Butters - the branding & tone of voice just make me smile. My favourite is Classic Crunch, however my friends who test tasted just couldn’t decided on their absolute favourite... guess we’ll just have to have all 5!... Congratulations Lenka MMMORE - such a delicious range! See more

16.01.2022 New artwork ready to go for the newly installed Demic ICS station at Chatswood Toyota - who keeps all their visitors and staff safe! Being Covid safe has become the new normal, however some make the experience more seamless and on brand than others! Demic removes the paper/pen, the awkward temperature checking and passing of a laminated QR code’s a thing of the past - plus a little brand experience really softens the process! #designedinsommer

13.01.2022 Lunchtime for me is sitting in our garden with Banjo...

12.01.2022 A huge congratulations and well done to our clients Magpie Distilling on placing twice with their gins recently!

11.01.2022 From each space I’ve worked, I’ve collected a little ritual along the way... Friday 80s playlist, seaweed snacks, burning a candle on Monday, filling my space with greenery... It’s taken a long time to enjoy working from home, nothing like a pandemic to really make me, but I’ve finally found balance and daily habits that help seperate work time and home time... I’d love to know what rituals or habits you’ve created along the way? #sommerdays

11.01.2022 Well, laptop’s down, out of studio on and I’m ready to take a mini break at our home away from home. I had a really great conversation last week, where I could see a common theme though our chat - she reminded me - a break is not giving in - it’s needed. Whatever that looks like to you, take the moments when you can.

10.01.2022 Ah Mondayitis - I can't lie a suffer from it, but I have turned Monday into my favourite day of the week. My solution? Beaches Coworking. Last week Casey from Beaches Coworking and I had a chat about how to actually brief a designer... Have a read - what do you think?...Continue reading

10.01.2022 It’s coming up to a year since I left the studio in Willoughby, do I miss it? Not for a moment, and that’s mainly thanks to the Coworking space I’ve been working from. Mixing up working from home and feeling like the Beaches Coworking space is like my second home - has made the change easy. While I miss the community in Willoughby, I have loved learning about the businesses & meeting the people in the new space! When Gavin & Casey (the owners of Beaches CoWorking) asked me t...o be part of their next adventure and help brand their new business Cowork HQ. - of course I said yes! I admire their passion, their value of community and love that they help connect like minded businesses. Not only have I worked with them to create their brand and website, I’ve been able to team up with others in the space and learn so much. Win Win I’d say! If you own a Coworking space or thinking about starting one - I’d encourage you to check out Cowork_hq., Gavin and Casey’s knowledge is invaluable and they have nailed it in their own space, so you know the advice is coming from their own practice! #designedinsommer

07.01.2022 Congratulations to our client Betty and Lola on opening their second store! So lovely to see their branding extended over a new shop front, still one of my favourite colours to design with, warm yet fresh!

05.01.2022 Monday mornings are designed for coffee meetings!

04.01.2022 When I studied at Billy Blue, I clearly remember having a conversation with my mum - being so adamant that in the real world - I’d never work on more than one project at a time. How silly was I! My days are spent working on a huge range of design jobs and if I’m not working directly on them, I’m art directing with two women who support me to get things done. You see while, I may have been wrong all those years ago, I was right in thinking that to best look after my clients..., I need to know when to call in support! Whilst it’s not about time, it’s about skill - I’ve always felt that if I’m not the right person to do the job, I either outsource or point you in the direction of a trusted source. But the one thing I have always been grateful for, is that Sommer Studio has been my source of growth, I look back to when I left Billy Blue and who knew I’d be working on such a range of designs - packaging, signage, websites through to printed design and in 2020, Covid masks! Ps - this piece of packaging was designed for Little Italy Coffee Roasters to launch their range of coffee pods! #designedinsommer

03.01.2022 Recently I spoke to a local Videography group about typography and how to use it to emotively and to explain and connect. I knew straight away that a great example would be my client Maven's Brew Specialty Coffee. Gordon and I started working together a few years ago and I can still remember the brief, use fonts to explain the blend and taste. Not a brief I have had before, so while Gordon named the blends, we gave each one a little personality and used it to build out the font from there. #designedinsommer
