25.01.2022 I am sure weve all heard of this before, sometimes we need a gentle reminder of this. Especially if weve had a particularly tough week. Happy Friday!!! #tgif #weekend #workweek #courage #success #career #purposefullife

24.01.2022 It takes up to 2 months to replace a habit and make it automatic. Create a self-contract and commit to replacing one habit now for the next 2 months and hold yourself accountable. Make it measurable and be consistent. ... Take small steps and get a buddy/mentor to help you be on track. Remember, the only way to break a bad habit is to replace it with a good habit. The key to replacing a bad habit is to fill the void with a good habit. Finally, be kind to yourself if you fall off the waggon ( we all do at times). Pick yourself up, reassess and start again #goodhabits #success #personaldevelopment #timetochange #makebetterdecisons #betteryou #getupshowup

23.01.2022 In todays lightning speed paced world we are often governed by our deep desires for instant gratification. We want what we want, and we want it now! The increasing dependence on the usage of technology in all facets of our lives has ushered in a new way of living. This has produced a culture of impatience that sees the rise of the pleasure principle and the fall of the reality principle. Pleasure principle and reality principle are two opposing sides of the same coin. It is ...in our human nature to seek out pleasure and avoid pain. This is a common behaviour, however engaging in the pleasure principle in all situations does not always render a successful result in life. Sigmund Freud proposed that the pleasure principle is the impetus that solicits immediate gratification of all needs and wants. In contrast, the reality principle demands that we weigh the risks, take into consideration the consequence and the possible outcomes of our desires and wants. Therefore, taking a considered approach to attaining what we want by delaying instant gratification. Delayed gratification teaches us the importance of self-control and self-motivation which are the two-predominant factor of a self-disciplined life. A self-disciplined life is a foundation for a successful life and it is one of the most important attributes needed to achieve personal and professional greatness. Learning to delay gratification in a world that applauds instant gratification can be difficult, but it is not impossible. - Understand your values and know why you are delaying gratification- What is your endgame? - Know what you want to achieve by clearly defining your goals - Create an action plan that works towards your goals - Reward yourself Delaying gratification is often hard work. Celebrate the small victories and reward yourself for each step moving forward Finally, there must be a balance between the delayed gratification of a desired want and the ability to enjoy the satisfaction of fulfilling a desire in the present moment. A life solely focused on delaying gratification loses spontaneity and a life solely focused on instant gratification leads to poor choices and undesirable outcomes. Sometimes you just need to eat that marshmallow whilst you are working on sharpening your goals. Written by Sonal Plush

22.01.2022 Life has a surprising way of playing with us. If we take life too seriously we end up tightly coiled in stress and anxiety. Learn to go with the flow and embrace life with a level of lightheartedness, curiosity and a little bit of silliness. :) Happy Friday! #fridayinsydney #happyfriday #tgif #gowiththeflow #drseuss

22.01.2022 Happy Friday! We live in our heads, either thinking about the past or the future and rarely being in the present moment. Cultivate a practice of being present. It will help you: -Appreciate your world... -Improve creativity -Release stress -Reduce overthinking -Improve social skills- We create more meaningful relationships when we are fully present in our interpersonal skills. #happyfriday #beinthepresentmoment #mindfulness

22.01.2022 Did you know the brain registers over 60,000 thoughts per day? Whoa!!! A lot thoughts flying about in our mind as we go about our day. Do you ever pay attention to your internal dialogue or are you on autopilot? We all experience a thing called "monkey mind." It is when our mind is unsettled, jumping from one though to another and is in a constant chatter. I would like for you to play a little game for one day and notice what happens to you. It will require you to make a c...ommitment to yourself to be diligent on what you are thinking. The game is called THE GAME OF FIVE! Be diligent on what you are thinking and when you notice that your monkey mind is swinging, I ask you to pause. Notice 5 thinks in your immediate environment that you can see, hear and smell. This little game is fantastic and you can play anywhere. You dont have to announce it to anyone that you are doing this. This simple exercise will help you create a break in your thoughts and will force you to redirect your mind to the present moment. It is a great exercise to practice especially when we suffer from anxiety and stress. So why dont you try this today and let me know what happens for you? #happyfriday #calm #happiness #tgif #monkeymind #equanimity

19.01.2022 Its coming towards the end of the year and many of us have had a very busy year. It is usually around this time of the year that we tend to loose focus and loose the momentum. It is during such times that we need to remind ourselves of ways we can stay motivated. #motivation #transformation #hustle

19.01.2022 Feeling stuck is something we have all experienced at certain periods in our lives. Whenever we feel stuck it indicates that something needs to change. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and focus on the symptoms of stuckness - the lack of energy, lack of motivation and even boredom. However, this does not help. Examining our feelings, changing our perceptions and taking action is imperative if are to become unstuck and move forward. #stuckinarut #comfortzone #growth #movingforward #goals #newyearresolution

18.01.2022 A fantastic article from Juliet Bourke and Bernadette Dillon of Deloitte Consulting. This article is well written and comprehensive. In this article, Bourke and Dillon have spoken at length about the importance of inclusive leadership. They have identified and outlined 6 traits of inclusive leaders and finally have given useful strategies for organisations to cultivate these capabilities. Bourke and Dillon argue that the traditional model of leadership no longer fits in today...s V.U.C.A world. ( I could not agree more) That well must embrace commitment, courage, cognizance of bias, curiosity, cultural intelligence and collaboration if we are to lead people through change and uncertainty. #deloitte #leadershipdevelopment #culturalintelligence #organisationalchange #bettermanagement #organisationalpsychology

15.01.2022 There is tremendous strength in vulnerability. Allowing others to truly see us,whether it be professionally or personally or both requires taking risks. Removing the mask and being present with our true self including our shadow self requires us to fully accept and be vulnerable with ourselves first and foremost before we can be vulnerable with others. Courage to be seen lies in self-awareness and self acceptances. #vulnerability #authenticlleadership #selfawareness #personalpower

10.01.2022 We are all so busy and we forget to just pause and take a break. 08.01.2022 Fear is a necessary response to actual physical and emotional danger. We would not be able to protect ourselves effectively from genuine threats if we did not feel fear. What happens however when we feel fear in the absence of legitimate threats? Does illegitimate fear leads to anger which leads to hate which ultimately leads to suffering? Do you think Yoda was right? #fearless #emotions #feelthefearanddoitanyway

08.01.2022 The relationship between strategy and culture is like a marriage. When its good there is open communication, trust, respect and an alignment to work toward mutual goals. However, if the relationship is bad between strategy and culture there is concealment, distrust, disrespect and disorder. Strategic planning creates direction and a path that an organisation can take to achieve its goals. But it takes a resilient and collaborative culture to effectively execute the strateg...ic plan to maximise results. Therefore, there needs to be a high level of compatibility between strategy and culture. A mutual relationship between the two where each side considers the impact it has on the other is imperative when working towards the greater vision. #organisationalstrategy #organisatinalculture #results #developingemployees #strategicplanning #collaborativeculture #successful #workculture #emoloyeeengagement #productivity #goals #actionplan #objectives #behaviours #values

08.01.2022 Where will your focus be in 2017? We have a wide range of concerns such as: - Our health... - Our work - Our Children - The state of this world - What other people think of us When we worry about things we have no control over we become stressed and reactive. However, when we focus on the areas where we have control and can change we become proactive and facilitate change. We can increase our circle of influence by focusing on the things we can control and change such as: - Our attitude - Our behaviours - The way we treat other people - Our level of self- awareness and EQ - Our commitment to work Choose one issue in your circle of concern. Break this issue into areas of direct, indirect and no control. Think about how you can recast this concern. So that you can let go of the " no control" area and outline what you can do about the area of "direct" and "indirect" control #change #influence #circleofinfluence #circleofconcern #stephencovey #stressmanagement #reactivity #proactive #selfmanagement

We have come a long way in the evolution of our individual and collective unconscious! 07.01.2022 When we experience events and circumstances they pass through our subconscious core beliefs. These beliefs consist of conclusions about ourselves, our strengths, weaknesses, potentials and limits. It also consists of our beliefs about others and the way we perceive the world. They are part of our "auto-pilot". We then attach a meaning to the event based on our belief structure which then leads to our reaction. Thus creating a particular result. The only way to change our reaction and response to an event is to shift from "auto-pilot" and create a different belief structure that will create a different result. #leadership #changedbehaviour #autopilot
