25.01.2022 Whether you're pivoting or expanding your business, there are times when we feel stuck. So many options Critical decisions to make Not sure whether to begin... etc Imagine though... if you were getting started. What would be your very next action? When we are getting started it feels lighter because there's just one small step you could take to 'start'. Whereas we tend to treat many things as 'all or nothing' situation. And you may feel you don't quite measure up to your professional standard yet? What if I tell you that: It's not about you. Branding yourself/business and marketing our work is never about us. That frees us to focus on the people we seek to serve. How do you feel now knowing this? Give me if you feel just a little lighter to start moving towards the direction you want to head. Sending you love...
25.01.2022 Lately, I've been teaching my clients how to take better branding photos using their mobile phones and how to process them. Ah yes, it is possible to create your branding photos using your phone these daysmarvellous technology I say. Sure, sometimes we do need professional quality images taken with a decent camera, but in most cases, you don't need to hire someone like me to take photos of you. ... Who is interested in learning all the tricks I've been teaching my clients? Give me if you're interested. I'll see if I could collate some lessons that I can share if there's enough interest. 25.01.2022 Launching a brand? I'm not talking about g a logo or website launched with snazzy lead magnets etc... I don't know how to go about building my personal brand. That is the most common frustration my clients share when they begin the conversation with me.... Of course, there are plenty of tactics on building Personal Brand when we search on the web. They don't tend to work out, though. After trying a whole bunch of different things, we question: What's wrong with me? More frustration ensues. I've been there. I know that feeling all too well. Having built my own brand, and helped countless others, I came to see patterns in successful brand building. Let me introduce you to the framework I developed to help us (yes, myself included, after all, it is ongoing! ) S - Self Discovery E - Embrace the Audience E - Enhance your image N - New You. The first three stages, I hope, are self-explanatory. The final stage of New You combines several elements that can be deeply personal. Your 'New You' would be different from my 'New Me'. Of course, I have my own method of guiding people through each stage of the framework, but with this, anyone could research and arrive at the New You stage on their own. Starting with Self Discovery, even if you launched a business, or you're just starting out, begin your brand building process with SEEN. Cheering you on (I need it too!) and give me if you're going to have a go! See more

24.01.2022 With a 40,000-word manuscript, I know it is only the beginning. At the 13,000 word mark, I knew I made a mistake. What I had there read like a teacher lecturing a boring subject in a classroom full of indifferent kids. Back to the blank screen, there I started typing again.... For a few weeks, I got up around 5 am each morning and started typingtype, type, type and type some more. I didn't go into an argument with myself about it. Whether I was stuck or I didn't have anything valuable to say. I let that argument go and typed what I remembered, what would be helpful for the people I seek to serve. Here I made this - a book. As I've seen so many people sharing their gruelling experience of 'having to write a book' I did not intend for my experience to be that way. I went into writing my book thinking that this would be an enjoyable experience, not a painful one. Of course, life doesn't always work out the way I plan. There were external factors that made it painful and frustrating, but I resisted and let them go. So here we are. We are at a home stretch as my editor calls it. I'm not sure. I still think it's only the beginning. Perhaps, I'm enjoying this process little too much actually to wrap it up? There will be some more enjoyable things coming my way, in fact. - Typesetting - Cover design - Marketing - Launch planning - proofread and final edits - Final copy print for the VIP blurbs - distribution planning and so on. Yes, it is only the beginning having the manuscript shaped into a book. It definitely has NOT been easy but I'm celebrating it with a bunch of people sharing this journey. Thank you for reading and being there for me. See more
24.01.2022 4 March 2015 - Intan and her mother came to the studio for their mother & daughter photoshoot. I once said to you that 'backlight (light source behind you) isn't recommended for your photos. This photo is a typical case of not following 'the rule'. The backlight is great if you know how to use it. When there's s very strong light behind you, you'll want to have something (bright white or silver boards) in front of you to bounce that light... on yourself. That's how this photo was created. Wanna try it and let me know how you go? :) See more
24.01.2022 At first, people may believe branding is such a chore and something to get done quickly. Then they realise there is a process as they stat the journey - building it upon one element at a time step-by-step. Now, they know it is a process they enjoy.... Of course, I'm talking about the general experience of my clients from many different industries. The verdict is the same - they don't have to suffer through it. It is enjoyable. It could be the same for you. It's not "done once and never again" kind of thing. It's an ever-evolving thing just as you evolve as a business owner. Make your brand building a process you could enjoy; that's what I do for a living. How lucky am I? See more
24.01.2022 [Being Proactive] Often we may feel that we ought to be chosen because that feels good, validated and important. Often we may think: If I brand it right people will come (in droves). ... It's similar to: If I build it they will come. We know that it doesn't work that way. It never has been that way, in fact. Personal branding is a starting point. A great starting point, I might add. With it, we must be proactive. #notetoself What could you do today if you were proactive? . . . A post from 2019 edited for #repost See more
23.01.2022 Most of us are good at what we do. Whichever industry we work in, if you're reading this, you worked hard to ensure that you can justify what you charge your clients. That was me a decade ago. I worked very hard to develop and improve my craft. Along the way, I was entirely unaware of the importance of visibility. While there might be others who focus first on self-promotion, I worried more about how I could deliver better and more awesom...e service and wondered how I could serve more people. The irony was, as my ability grew, my visibility was steadily diminishing. This was a hard pill to swallow. Only when I realised what it means to have a brand - write about it, talk about it and share it across for a specific group of people - I was able to take advantage of my ability fully. Ultimately, my ability had to move along with my visibility. That is when good things started to happen for my business. I encourage you not to discount your ability - by saying not good enough yet - the time is now to make yourself visible. With visibility comes more client work which improves your ability (exponentially). Is there one thing that you can start doing to improve your visibility? Are you willing to start that today? If yes, give me a and make it happen. Sending you love. See more
23.01.2022 Starting from last week, I'm sharing some of my photographic work of beautiful African women. This is me taking a break here and there from my usual branding talk. I might share some technical aspect of this photo for those who are 'photo geeks'. This shot was taken exactly where I've now set up my office spacea small but very bright room with diffused light. The model is facing a large window leaning against the wall.... The wall is, in fact, non-other than a couple of poly boards painted with green grey paint. I retouched the join so that it looks seamless. You can make out where the light source is if you look closely into the eyes - you'll see specular highlights almost in the centre. The model is wearing two dresses layered. The outer layer is from @megansalmondesign. I shall see you in my next photo geek post. :) . . . . See more
23.01.2022 What do we do when we are passionate about more than one thing? Here's my answer to the question I get asked very often.
22.01.2022 Who you are and what you do is so precious. Be generous and share what you have by being visible. ----- Stop being selfish and be generous instead. That's what I tell my clients when they share their vulnerabilities and fear of becoming visible. Am I being mean? Perhaps, I am. I will, at times, provoke my clients to wake them up. I will sometimes be very forceful in my approach to my coaching. What for?... To create results. The results that I was able to create tackling my fear, insecurity, self-doubt, and most of all perfectionistic tendency. That's why it's so powerful to understand the generous nature of us being visible with what we make. Without your generosity, the thing that you (don't) share with us would not see the light of the day (as a result you'd not get better at your craft either, just saying). If you yield to your perfectionistic tendency and do not show up to share your gift we'll never know about the precious thing that you've been keeping from us. We've got your back so take one baby step at a time and be visible. . . . An edited version of my post from 2019 #repost
21.01.2022 The latest batch of my business cards arrived recently. Super thick card stock. Beyond that, there's not much to the card.... Logo, website address, and my profile photo. That's it, folks! Do you have business cards? If yes, are they useful for you or totally redundant? See more
21.01.2022 I do love dressing up people while I might be typing this post wearing a trackie bottom and a workout jumper. This is one of those shoots where I got to dress this gorgeous African model to my heart's content. The lighting: softbox on the camera right. A reflector of some soft next to the model (on her right side). Well not that you'd care for that kind of information. :P... As a side note, if you feel that you're not stylish for your branding photos, fear not as not only I'll advise you on what would look great on for pictures, but also I have a stylist whose job is to make you look and feel stylish for your photos. 19.01.2022 What we want versus what we need: this is a perennial debate among marketers. I'd like to share a slightly different view of our 'needs'. We don't really need another pair of high heels from Louboutin.... That is clearly a 'want'. BUT There's a hidden need there that people often overlook. The need to be 'noticed' - fundamental need stronger for some of us than for others. This particular one is linked to our biological survival. You did not see that coming, did you? . . Have you worked out what your clients' hidden needs are? See more
19.01.2022 Getting recognised as a great brand, being perceived as a successful entrepreneur and expanding our influence, they are all great pursuits. But for what purpose are we doing all this work? When I pose this question, more often than not, I need to wait an extra few seconds for answers come through, be it, clients, for prospective clients. There is no judgement on my part if it's for money or fame whatever works.... To share my personal experience, I've made lots of money in the past (and of course I spent it all at the time), and it didn't make me happy. How about being famous? I know quite a few enormously successful yet deliberately anonymous people. They know a thing or two about how nebulous being 'famous' is. It's helpful to know and be able to articulate the purpose. Whatever it may be actually. What's the point of all this if we're not sure what it is that we're going after? Let me share mine with you. My purpose is not to waste what I know and learned. It is to share and enable others to achieve what they could achieve with the gift they already possess with the framework that I developed. Ultimately, it is to free people from their inner critique that often stops people from going big with their dreams and mission. Whatever it is, let's be super clear about why we are doing what we are doing. If you haven't thought about this before, why not take this opportunity? See more
18.01.2022 And they educate us with useful information or inform us of things that we may not have known. What they don't try to do is "changing our mind". More often than not, when we try to appeal to 'MORE' or 'MOST' people, we also have to change someone's mind because it's quite probable that most of those people wouldn't believe in what we have to offer.... Of course, there's nothing stopping us going after 'everyone', but we know that it is a fools' errand. That's why great brands only go after who are already 'converted'. It means they appeal to a specific group of people to the exclusion of all others. Those companies who tried to attract 'everyone' spent millions or more only to learn that hard lesson themselves. Luckily for us, we can learn from their experience. We can focus and serve those who are already willing and ready to change. With that frame in mind, what changes for your branding and marketing going forward? See more

16.01.2022 [My cameras don't take great photos] At photoshoots, when people look at the little screen on the back of my camera and see the shots I've taken, they often say: "Wow, Songy, your camera is fantastic."... I'd smile and nod in agreement of sorts. After all, as a professional, I do have a great kit. Here's the truth though. It's not the camera. It's about who is making the image. I'm sure you would have heard that expression before. Let's take a look at a recent shoot when I tested out what would happen if I became the model and had others take photos of me. They had my pro gear, and I let them direct my poses. Swipe to see the other two images. The first and second photo were taken with Google Pixel 2 XL phone camera (released in 2017). The third image from the shoot I mentioned above was taken with my professional kit. The last two were made without any extra lighting, and no filters are applied. The critical point is this. I took the first two images with a phone camera, and I didn't take the last image. What is the difference between the two? Without going into any technical stuff, it boils down to two main points. The photo I took with my mobile phone has: - no shadows on my face - the facial expression that I like (the other picture has captured a somewhat stern resting face). That second image is easy to get right on the day if you know what to do. Do you know what to do? Here's good news. Knowing what to do to get an excellent shot is easy to learn. You can take great photos using your mobile phone and then process photos like a pro using free filters. Are you interested? I'll be posting mini-lessons on my Instagram feed from next week, so stick around if you'd like to know my tips and tricks.
16.01.2022 Our insecurity is like a hungry ghost Never satisfied with anything And oh how we like to feed it With perfecting With never ending... With never satisfied. But generosity is more like a tree Growing With the more we give The bigger it becomes If we share generously Even when its not perfect If we show up now Rather than delaying We create a virtuous cycle By doing it again and again Better and better each time. Our insecurity and generosity Two sides of the same coin. Which one will take the lead Moment to moment Is entirely up to you You decide The one who sees. See more

15.01.2022 We want to produce and sell quality products and services. That goes without saying. Once we're confident about the 'quality', then the next step will surely have to be our brand perception: The story our clients can tell themselves when they decide to 'buy' from us. The key to that process is how clearly our clients could see themselves in us.... One of my clients told me recently that she was showing my website to her friend saying: "She is my coach; how cool is she?" What you see in that little vignette is the story my client told herself subconsciously when she decided to hire me to be her coach. The image that I projected (that she perceived) was the essence of who she later wants to become. Of course, the work always begins by answering who we are and who we want to serve. It is an enjoyable process, and one can learn a lot from it. Yes, branding is an enjoyable and learnable process. Sending you love, See more
15.01.2022 One of the things I love about technology is the 'Memories' feature showing me photos from the past reminding me of the times that I would otherwise forget. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, taken with an LG Nexus 5 mobile phone. I'm sure I'm not alone in this - enjoying occasional old photos popping up on Facebook and Google Photos.... The photo I'm sharing here was from Porto, Portugal. Overseas travelling was a topic of discussion during our morning coffee - planning another trip to Europe perhaps. When? I don't know but probably not for another couple of years. What memories are you getting from your social/photo feed today? See more
14.01.2022 My team member, Jilian, works as a stylist for me. During November till December, she is involved in something far more important. She is in charge of installing Xmas/festive season decorations for the city of Perth as well as major buildings (and probably some in Sydney as well). Since all that stuff has to go up during the night, she and her team would be up at night installing Xmas trees and lights almost every night. I remember the st...ory she shared about a year ago. Her team members were understandably exhausted and almost had enough of each other. She pulled everyone together and said (I'm paraphrasing): "What we are doing isn't just installing trees and putting up lights. Imagine the faces of excited kids, happy memories of parents and grandparents. That's what we do - creating happiness and fond memories." So, here while I'm missing my friend and team member dearly, I also know she is on a vital mission. Huge respect for you and sending you love, @h4ppyjilly .... 13.01.2022 For what purpose are we here? We want our life to mean something. We want our work to mean something to someone (preferably to many people). ... It took me a long time to get to this point. Personally, my purpose is very simple. I want to enjoy this life. I want to learn as much as I could. So when the time comes there would be no surprises. What I'm about What my work was about For whom my work existed. It's challenging at times. Learning something new always is. But I go forward with the joy of having helped people and changed someone's life. For what purpose are you doing what you're currently doing? See more
13.01.2022 What have you kept from the past that could be your anchor to positive thoughts? Model, a mother of two kids, was one of my very first studio portrait subjects. This image was made back on 23 August 2014. She is wearing earrings from @kartique_perth.... She is also wearing a metal mesh top that I purchased in 1999 in Macau. The headpiece is ... well, just yardage of tulle 'carefully' wrapped around to make it look like something. The same tulle fabric is used as a shawl. When shooting, I would make do. That's how we roll! :) The lighting was natural coming from the model's right side as you can see in her eyes (specular highlights). I didn't use any fancy equipment for this. All I had was a v-flat made out of polystyrene panels to bounce the window light. And the camera? (I know someone would ask this) Nikon D700 which I no longer own. I have this photograph printed large in a frame for my studio. My pride and joy. Looking at my earlier years as a photographer and reminding myself of beauty that I could create (when I feel a little low). How about you? What are the things that could remind you of good times so that you can bounce right back up? Sending you love, See more
12.01.2022 What do you do with a glut of lemon and limes? 5+ years ago, I so wished we had enough lemons and limes so that we didn't have to pay for them. They are reasonably expensive to this day. My other half who does most of the gardening work has been diligently looking after our lemon and lime trees over the years.... Since last year, our trees are bearing so many juicy fruits that I don't know what to do with more than half of them. At the moment, we are juicing and freezing most of them after giving away a significant amount. Frozen lime and lemon juice are our summer drink additions. Our brand building is just like this. In the beginning, it couldn't go fast enough. We want to see the result of our effort right away. Patience isn't abundantly available within us. What I can share with you today is that it takes time. Hopefully, you're not surprised by this if you've been following me for a bit. After all, that is my 'brand' - debunking the myth of brand building! As ever, I'm patiently looking after my own brand while helping my clients do the same. Gradually and imperceptibly, our brand grows. How can I say for sure? I only have to look back 12 months ago and think about where I was on my own journey. Oh my, I've come a long way! Take that small action that you've been meaning to take in growing your brand. A little by little, you'll get there. Give me if you're with me on this. See more
11.01.2022 Do you know your colours? One of the biggest challenges for many entrepreneurs is the fact that they have to put their 'face' out there more often than they'd like it. If only we were more photogenic! Well, I can tell you from over a decade of experience photographing people is that knowing your colours can be the quickest and the most effective way to make you feel more photogenic.... Mine is Dark Winder according to True Colour International (12 tone system). Many of my clients are either Autumn or Spring: after working with me; they finally learn how Black is not their colour. And they experience a huge relief & freedom knowing what colours look great on them. That means time and money saved in the long run. My reasons for addressing personal colour before anything else such as logos etc. are: 1/ It's easier to make you look better in photos 2/ More importantly, picking your brand colours should only happen after you know your personal colours. There is very little point picking your Brand Colours in isolation. Those colours you choose for your brand need to go harmoniously with you (your colourways). There are lots of free online tools out there for determining personal colours. Have a play. Find out your colours. Only after that, I suggest thinking about your brand colours. See more
11.01.2022 I don't know where to begin | This is the most comment statement I read from my newsletter readers (Oh yes, you can sign up to receive my weekly personal branding insights - head on over to my website to sign up). My brand-building model shows us where to start. Self Discovery is our starting point in all things personal branding.... Yes, I always tell my clients how personal branding isn't about us. It is about the people we seek to serve. However, the orientation begins with us - who we are, what our story is and what we stand for. The self-discovery process can be different for all of us, but I do recommend starting with: - characteristic assessment - personal strengths - keyword feedback from our supporters With this (re)starting point, we can always re-orientate our brand-building effort when we feel less than clear about our direction. Here to 'knowing ourselves'. Sending you love. x See more

09.01.2022 For many years, I was not aware of how people perceived me. Many people know what Jeff Bezos said about your brand: Your brand is what others say about you when youre not in the room. ... The thing is, whether you like it or not, people say stuff about you when youre not in the room. Would you actively and intentionally try to shape the conversation with your actions and language, or would you instead leave that to chances? When confronted that way, our answer is obvious, but where to begin? That was the question I had years ago. Fast forward 2020, having created my brand & current image, I can now confidently share the secrets and the structured process of how to go about building a brand with others. In other words, it is replicable. It isnt some magic that only some people could have, and others cant. Are you interested in finding out how to build your own brand? 09.01.2022 At the start of any journey, we can be gripped by the invisible force that is fear. In the story of our brand-building often that comes as fear of judgement from others. A quick fix I can prescribe is:... Feel our hearts with the love of our craft and the people we seek to serve. Only the power of love can nudge the fear aside. We can then dance with fear and have fun. It can be truly joyous and fun when we stop struggling. Filling our hearts with love is the antidote. Here I'm giving it to you, take it and have fun. Who would like to try it? Give me if you're ready. Sending you love, See more
09.01.2022 N for New You from my Personal Branding framework SEEN isn't about a makeover or changing hairstyle....what is it about then? It's about the freshness that we experience from gaining new perspective from learning about ourselves and the people we seek to serve.
09.01.2022 People often have no problem branding their business because it's just a logo here, some nice photo there and snazzy copy and business manifesto over here. Voila, business branding is done. Why is it so difficult when it comes to Personal Branding? That's because it's not taught at school, yes? There was no subject/class titled:... "How to be our authentic self." I'm coaching highly accomplished individuals on that very subject. They often have double degrees, successful and they come to me to crack that very elusive thing they thought they knew. How to leverage their strengths and get to be who they truly are so that they can move upwards and forwards faster. Once they learn, there is no stopping them. I see my clients change jobs, get promoted and rapidly grow their businesses - more energised than ever. They may say with humility that they were lucky. They may also tell you that they had great mentors and a lot of help. Yeah yeah. They had all that, but only because they are always learning and investing in themselves. For them, almost everything is learnable. And they invest time and money into learning. That's what I can tell you right now with confidence. Brand building is learnable. I know it because I had to put all of the pieces together to build a system from scratch to be where I am today - years of learning. After all, there wasn't anyone who had this thing all worked out for me to learn from. I had to develop it myself and now I use it to coach all my clients. So don't despair that you don't know how and where to begin in building your brand. Can you see now why it's not your failing? Imagine learning to brand yourself step-by-step so that you can join those empowered women? The results you could get to create would be amazing, right? So start learning. 08.01.2022 Hi! My name is Songy. I'm usually behind the camera or at the computer talking to clients via Zoom. Today, I thought I'd show up and introduce myself to people who recently started noticing my quotes and images from my feed. I'm here because I love helping women grow their business by teaching branding and marketing.... While I coach clients one-on-one right now, I'm developing an online program so that I could help more people. That's coming soon. In my spare time, you'd find me playing with my fur baby Lush, or listening to Audible, reading books or lifting weights. Not much time spent on social media, I'm afraid. It's ironic, you may say. Well, you'll occasionally see me stalking you quietly if I'm following you in IG. If you're interested in building a brand (or wonder what it even means) send me a message. I'm always up for a conversation. Sending you love, P.S. My team doll'ed up me for this photo. Makeup & hair by @vikkialdridgemua Styling @h4ppyjilly Photo @jessmeyermedia See more
07.01.2022 SEEN is the Personal Branding Framework I use as a brand-building coach. your Audience your Brand Image... Let me explain what New You means in our Personal Brand Building. It’s not about a style makeover, although you may experience one during the process. It’s not about having a new hair cut or a new logo although you may get to have either or all of those. New You, I’m talking about here is the fresh perspectives we gain after the iterative process of getting to know more about ourselves, our audience and amplifying our brands as a result. Each of us will have different ‘New You’ experiences, and it is not set in stone because SEEN is iterative. It is something we get to experience in our brand-building journey over and over again. 06.01.2022 My heart aches today. I'm feeling it all the way rather than pushing it away. I grew up in Seoul, where season changes are distinctive. I miss all of the fall's colours. I haven't seen my family in Korea for a few years.... Before the plan to travel back to Korea could be formed, the year that is 2020 gave us something wholly unexpected, and we are confined to travel within certain areas (which is fortunate as most people are not even able to do that). My heart aches and I'm facing that squarely, feeling all the way through. It is okay to feel this way. While all are uncertain, what we know with any degree of certainty is that nothing is permanent. Since I'm feeling this anyway, may you be free from heartaches. May you be free from suffering and the root of suffering. Sending you love, See more
06.01.2022 We're only getting started! That very short sentence can be very freeing for my clients. Because we often put so much pressure on ourselves to make the PERFECT design, write the BEST post, and never make ANY mistakes. All these are, of course, impossible most of the times.... When we frame it as 'getting started', it suddenly feels easier because we don't expect to be experts when we're getting started. It goes nicely with the idea that we're always learning as well. If you're feeling stuck today how would you like to say 'well, I'm getting started with this thing so let's see where this step takes me. Give me if you're ready to take that little step (action) and gently shift away from being stuck. Sending you love xo See more
05.01.2022 For us, living in the southern hemisphere, Spring is upon us. Spring means a busy time is coming our way as well. Perhaps, it may not be quite as hectic as last September, but I'm already feeling the change in the air. How about you? How are you, business owners, gearing up for (almost) the last quarter of the year?... I'm allowing myself to be distracted away from my projects. That will make it possible for me to go into the full 'service mode' for my clients. Exciting times! P.S. This image is one of my clients' branding images that we created January this year. Oh, how time flies. See more
05.01.2022 . Let me draw an axiom from a far-out place - The author of a classic book, The Story of Philosophy, Will Durant, writes: "They think they are led on by what they see when in truth, they are driven by what they feel." By and large, our customers make their buying decision not logically but emotionally based on how a brand makes them feel.... So, our customers pay not for the quantity nor quality of a product or service. Rather: . How does your brand make you feel? How does your brand make other people feel? What would you like them to feel when they come across your brand? It can be a lot of fun creating a brand this way. If you're interested in creating your brand with this method, first check out the link in my bio for a FREE resource. Sending you love, See more
04.01.2022 How do you get your "A" into "G"? It's been particularly hard lately since my body's been saying no to sleeping. I'm otherwise fighting fit. So now I wonder how all of you are doing. I did promise a photo tutorial the other week. We were out filming and shooting so watch this space for something fun.... Sending you love, See more
02.01.2022 Opening up a draw or a pencil case or a makeup bag, we'd find lots of things: Individual tools for different tasks. Having a brand is very much like that I learned. There are many moving parts to your brand. Your brand message is the case that holds them all. Are your tools driving your brand (aimlessly)?... Is it time for you to have a case (overarching brand message - what you stand for) so that you can have a sense of direction? Today, let's take a break and think about what we stand for together. 02.01.2022 Repost on: Personal Brand vs Personal Branding What’s the difference between brand and branding? Are they the same? Confused? ... They are used interchangeably, but they shouldn't really. Your brand is how you're perceived. Your branding is really a collection of your branding assets and the process of you building your brand. Your brand is about what others say about you. This can only happen by showing up with your message and keep talking about what you stand for. Your branding is about your assets. Devices you use to represent your brand. These are photos, websites, your youtube channel, your Linkedin profile and so on. My clients work with me on both fronts. They see their brand clarified as part of the strategy sessions. And some of them also choose to work with me to establish a series of branding assets. This gave me so much clarity on what I do and what I’ve been creating with my clients. So remember. You need both. Building branding assets in isolation is not enough when establishing your brand. What do you stand for? Can you articulate that bravely and succinctly? Your answer to those questions will help you to create a sustainable brand to grow your business. If you are not sure how to answer, tune in next Sunday as I’ll be providing tips on how to answer that fundamental personal brand question. See more
02.01.2022 [DIY Branding Photos by my Clients] by @monpanama My client is based in Thailand, and I'm based in Western Australia. I could have travelled to Phuket to take this photo, but it was not possible because I'm not planning on any travels let alone international travels any time soon.... So naturally, I taught my client how to do it on her own. After she sent me a couple of batches of photos and my feedback on those, she was able to produce amazing images for her brand Mon Panama all ON HER OWN using a tripod and a remote trigger. Here's what Annie said about her experience. It is the best to do this alone (except if you have a very patient and skilled photographer); otherwise, you will not feel relaxed if someone is pressuring you with time and with a comment such as "now you have enough pictures, don't you?" So, yes, it is possible to do your own branding photos. You just need to learn how to do it. :)
01.01.2022 End of the month approaches. And the end of the fiscal year is here for us, Australian business owners. It feels as though it would be good to wash off all that was negative, worrisome and anxiety-ridden. Reset and restart.... That's what's called for I think. I'm cautiously optimistic for the second half of the year. With renewed energy, let's have a good one, shall we? Who's with me? See more
01.01.2022 @h4ppyjilly and I had a wonderful time dressing/styling @chiletsocoach. Look at the harmonious colours. It's not that we planned the couch and the cousins to be those colours before the shoot. They happened to be that way when we turned up at the location. Serendipity mixed with our ability to see and use what's there. Ah... feels just so good to share this with you. If you're looking for a team of personal brand experts ... we are here in Western Australia. Let us make you sparkle and shine inside and out.
01.01.2022 Thank you Women in Technology, Western Australia (WITWA) for having me & Caro Monroy last night for the 2020 celebration sundowner. It was so amazing to witness all that was achieved in a seemingly difficult year. Really appreciate everything that you do and sending huge hugs to all of the members for your generosity....
