22.01.2022 I have spent the last few days reminding students that one of their superpowers is to 'make', and to allow themselves to be lost in the process of being creati...ve and making. Today I stole a moment to do the same. It has been almost 10 years since I spent so much time at the torch. I was focusing on laying the glass, making hollow glass with a bead inside a bead (the red one) and building points. Later when I looked at them I realised they look like the images on the news of Covid 19. So this is as close to the virus as I want to be. #lostinprocess #lampworking #lampworkbeads #covid19 #covod19glass #thisisascloaetocovid19iwanttobe #hollowbeads #beadinsidebead

01.01.2022 Taking notes and doodling during a 'Covid 19 multispecies reading group' session. The doodle then mutated into a water colour and pencil lesson for my daughter. We decided that the Covid symbols on the illustration had transformed into a raindow of wishing fairies (dandelion seeds) COVID-19 is not an entity on its own, yet people make it an entity as we articulate and process the current epoch.... COVID-19 is popping up in my doodling, last week it was in my glass work and it is also influencing my research and my making attached to my research. So there are some interesting works that will be posted soon. But for now, it is a raindow of wishing fairies (or a COVID-19 head!)
