23.01.2022 From 26 September, motorists will no longer need to slow down to 40km/h on roads with speed limits of 90km/h or more when passing stationary emergency vehicles ...with flashing lights. Drivers will need to slow down safely and move over to give them as much space as possible. In speed zones of 80km/h or less, motorists will still need to slow down to 40km/h. The rule will also be expanded to include stationary tow trucks and breakdown assistance vehicles displaying yellow flashing lights. Find out more: http://bit.ly/slowdowngivespace

15.01.2022 CUSTOMER EMAIL TEMPLATE Dear Customer, As of 1 February 2018 the NSW Government will start collecting a $1 passenger service levy on all point to point transfers in NSW. All taxi, ride share and hire car providers must comply with this new legislated tax.... Effective 1st February we will need to charge an addition $1 + GST (total $1.10) on all NSW trips and pass this onto government. The money collected by the government will be used to fund a $250 million dollar taxi compensation package to compensate the industry for the impact of the introduction of ridesharing. If you feel this tax is unfair please let your voice be heard by emailing the Transport Minister, the Hon Andrew Constance, on [email protected].

07.01.2022 From 1 July 2018 drivers can be charged for using a mobile phone when driving via camera detection The Road Transport Legislation Amendment (Road Safety) Act 2018 No 15 has provided the power for speed camera style technology to detect illegal mobile phone use from 1 July 2018 Drivers who are caught using a mobile phone while driving will receive a fine of $330 and will lose 4 demerit points.... If drivers are caught using a mobile phone when driving in a school zone, the fine increases to $439. All mobile phone offences are also subject to double demerits penalties. NSW is the first jurisdiction in Australia to introduce this legislation. Once the camera detects that a person has been found to be using a phone whilst driving, the footage will be reviewed manually prior to an infringement notice being issued. The revenue raised from the camera detection technology will paid into the Community Road Safety Fund, which allows community organisations to develop road safety projects in their local areas. Such projects include: 1. Driver mentoring assistance for disadvantaged youth; 2. Awareness campaign targeting driveway safety; 3. Road safety workshops targeting culturally and linguistically diverse communities; and 4. Road safety seminar series and newly arrived migrants. It has been reported that during an initial test on Sydneys Harbour Bridge, the new system detected 750 drivers in six hours. This is contrasted with NSW Police having issued less than 100 infringements per week using the current methods. In justifying the new technology NSW Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight, Melinda Pavey, reported that from 2012 to 2017 there were 184 crashes involving illegal mobile phone use and those crashes resulted in seven deaths and 105 injuries

04.01.2022 This post has come from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Very good information. You should consider your child's size - not age when restraining them. Th...ey are precious cargo. We receive many inquiries about restraining children in vehicles. Please remember the most dangerous place you will ever place your child is in a vehicle. Crashes are the #1 cause of injury and death for children. Take child passenger safety seriously. Remember, dead children don't cry. The decision isn't up to them. Pics - Misty Blades
