The change to the speed camera warning signs was announced on Thursday and will be rolled out over the next 12 months.... It means some warnings signs usually seen 250m and 50m ahead of mobile speed cameras will be scrapped. 03.01.2022 SUCCESS STORY: Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, whilst unlicensed and driving over 40km/hr and under the influence of drugs. I recently represented a client who had been charged with 14 offences, with the most serious of offences being Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The objective seriousness of this offence was aggravated given my client was under the influence of a dangerous drug, was driving over 40 km over the speed limit, was driving unlicensed and also cr...ashed his vehicle into a light pole. He was also being sentenced for a number of other serious offences that occurred during a short 2 month period. I put forward a substantial number of mitigating factors that gave the court confidence that my client was rehabilitating and thus addressing specific deterrence. My client walked into court that morning expecting a period of inprisonment and left with an 18 month Probation Order. This was a terrific outcome and my client was extremely happy!
