25.01.2022 New look for Overton Merino and Poll Merino Stud.

25.01.2022 I often get asked, where do you get your inspiration from? Sometimes it comes naturally, other times you will find me scrolling through Pinterest or reading a book in pursuit of finding it. I find that people who are inspired can work tirelessly for days, most of the time that's me but occasionally I'll take a day or two off to refill my energy cup. ... We all have different inspiration sources so I am interested to know, what does inspiration look like to you? See more

23.01.2022 Launching soon... Kloster is an events styling business offering a selection of services at your fingertips to help you create a unique event with a personal touch.

22.01.2022 A cute concept that never made the cut. One day I’ll forgive my clients who have gotten rid of my favourite concept. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll adopt the one concept method!

21.01.2022 If #invasionday was a logo. #changethedate #alwayswasalwayswillbe

19.01.2022 Brand jargon can be confusing... Mission statement, positioning, vision statement, user persona, messaging, voice etc. BLAH BLAH BLAH, it's overwhelming and boring which is why I have introduced brand strategy into my service mix. Sessions will be available from January 2021 and are aimed at business owners who would like some help articulating what their brand is, the purpose it serves and how they can best communicate it. More information will be available on my new website which is launching later this month, if you have any questions in the meantime please don't hesitate to touch base.

18.01.2022 I am still in awe of Emma Jane Industry, her work is stunning especially her prints if I do say myself. Sadly I haven't had the chance to meet Em yet but fingers crossed 2021 is the year for us! I have now finally added her website and brand identity to the portfolio section on my website, only 50+ projects left to add. Does anyone else put updating their Portfolio on the back burner and then get to a point where you know you need to atleast refresh it and then question why you do this to yourself? I swear I only update mine once a year if I'm lucky - maybe this year I'll learn from my mistakes!

17.01.2022 I recently had the pleasure of putting together some wedding collateral for a lovely client of mine who is getting married in March 2021. Before starting a design I always provide a project brief, mood boards like this one are helpful in giving the client an idea of the direction I am heading in.

17.01.2022 Monday Thought... Learn from people who are ahead of you. In other words if you are a website designer then learn from another website designer. Interested in learning about graphic design? Learn from an expert who has scaled their business. Looking at hiring a biz coach? That's fine but remember to look at people who have 'been there, done that'. I personally have learnt a lot from @wayfarerdesignstudio, @quillandco.design and @squarestylist over the past few months, I highly recommend their courses!

16.01.2022 I'm calling it - I am officially booked out for 2020! Thank you so SO much to all my beautiful clients, SMD has come so far in the past 2-3 months. With only a few spots left in January I encourage you to get in touch sooner rather than later.

15.01.2022 My latest submark creation.

14.01.2022 Madam Vice President. History has been made. 144 Women elected to congress and the most diverse cabinet in US History.

14.01.2022 Elegant Submark detail kicking off my Wednesday morning. What are you focusing on today?

13.01.2022 Kloster Submark.

13.01.2022 Minimalist doesn't mean boring, easy or bland. Minimalist is elegant, curated and effortless.

09.01.2022 Deep forest green colour, layers of texture and luxurious typography. Sophisticated visual ideas surfacing for a #jewellery brand I am in the early stages of developing. Meaningful branding has always been a passion of mine. There is nothing I love more than creating an identity for a business that marries up delicately and organically with the intent of the brand and the harmony of the product and audience. The psychology of it all is what motivates me every day, and it’s essentially why I do what I do. Those moments of joy when you’re first unearthing the brand, and the client reaction is excited, proud and ecstatic. That’s the kind of feedback and experience I work hard for.

08.01.2022 I'll be out of office from Monday 21st September - Monday 5th October. If you contact me during this time please be aware I may take a little while longer than normal to reply but either way I will get back to you.

08.01.2022 My favourite font this month! I am loving a number of serif fonts at the moment but Americana has been my go to recently.

07.01.2022 Have a great weekend everyone!

06.01.2022 So you are looking to DIY your own website or brand? Let's touch on what you are ultimately risking: 1. Credibility. Your clients are smart and they know the difference between a brand that looks professional versus others that don't. You risk losing their trust before they have even contacted you and when they do touch base they might struggle to invest a lot of money into something they already have doubts about. 2. Memorability: Ahhh this old gem. When your client is sho...pping online (HELLO 2021) they will leave your website and sadly forget you exist, especially if your website is a generic template (the truth hurts). 3. Confusion: You have 0.3 seconds to capture the attention of a potential client and strategically inform them how you can help. If your website causes confusion, makes them feel frustrated or is hard to navigate then they are going to bounce right outta there. I could go on and on but for now let me summarise: DIY does not save you money. DIY cuts corners and costs you sales. DIY does not put you in a good position for growth. Please do not DIY.* *Worried about the financial investment? A lot of designers offer payment plans, we are here to help after all!

05.01.2022 I have had the pleasure of working with Sarah from The Twisted Tea Tree since January this year. We have had so much fun re-branding her business, designing fresh packaging and are currently in the process of building a new website... All of which is launching soon! We often have a weekly phone call which tends to last 1-2 hours, half of which is business talk whilst the other half is just randomly chatting about what is going on in our lives. Sarah has grown from a client into a friend and I feel so lucky that I get to work with talented rural women like her every single day!

05.01.2022 A sneak peak of some new Brand Identity for The Wild Scale.

05.01.2022 Popping some colour into your feed to finish off the weekend!

02.01.2022 I have a couple of exciting announcements to make over the next few days! In short this not so little business is expanding... I'm talking new services, new people and hopefully new clients! I can't wait to tell you more.

02.01.2022 Colour vs No Colour. Which version is your favourite?

01.01.2022 So I haven’t posted on Insta since October 11 which is slightly embarrassing but that’s what happens when you are so busy you don’t even have time to show everyone what you are doing. I’m very lucky that 99% of all my clients come to me through word of mouth so to be honest I have never really felt the pressure to regularly update my social (incase you hadn’t already noticed). Here is a quick preview of a website I launched about a month ago for the Young Agricultural Profe...ssionals Network in Tasmania. Okay see you in another month! Just kidding, I recently hired a very talented graphic designer who is going to be helping me get on top of my workload so hopefully I’ll be posting a little more regularly from here on in!
