22.01.2022 Sorry everyone for the lack of updates! This whole COVID-19 drama has definitely made life crazy and stressful for everyone. I have never needed downtime and my days off so much in my working life, always thrived on a busy life but this is something else. Today, sadly was advised as of tomorrow I will be stood down temporarily while Flight Centre navigates this storm. ... Definitely mixed emotions but have reasons to be thankful for. I know there are so many people is worse situations than I am currently. It is by no means forever, it's temporary until we can start booking travel again whether it's domestic or international. Your bookings will be looked after as there is still great 3 leaders working in the business in departure date order to get the best outcome possible for everyone. My biggest emotion currently is the feeling of letting you all down, especially those with upcoming bookings but in the end it's all out of my control as much as I want to change the outcome. My work has been my life for so long! Travel has been everything to me. I will be getting all possible bookings up to date, actioned as far as I can and credit letters to those that have accepted credits already by tomorrow. I will leave detailed notes for every booking to make this process as stress free as possible for everyone involved. 22.01.2022 Just a quick lil update As of today my availability has changed slightly at work, I will be working 5 days a fortnight, alternative weeks of 3 days, then 2 days. This week is Monday to Wednesday... Next week is Monday to Tuesday, If you are unsure if I am in, it is best to email on [email protected] and I will get back to you when I am working. I still do not have any access to my emails or work systems out of these times. I feel I can slightly see the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of refunds (getting more done every day but still slow process :( ) but sadly with border closures the bookings and recovery of the industry, no light yet. Even planted a veggie/herb garden to keep me busy ... It still breaks my heart for all the holidays being cancelled this year and I wish I could still assist you all. 20.01.2022 Need a holiday? I know I do Here are some tips to remember in our current COVID world ... - Book in advance Don't leave things until last minute if you need to fly! It can prove costly or difficult (think numerous connections or nothing available on the day you need to go) Airlines are not necessarily flying every day between cities and a lot of direct routes are not operating. Especially in/out of Adelaide. Less flights also means the cheaper seats sell a lot quicker. Yes it could be a pain booking early and experiencing changes however usually the closer to departure the less flexible you can be and options will be even more limited. - Be flexible Expect changes and having to shuffle your plans. If you need to go for something important, give yourself a few days to account for delays. Never plan to do anything on the travel day just in case! - Book with an agent It keeps people in jobs and most of the time it doesn't cost you more! Plus with constant changes happening, why not have someone else to help you through it all? Even as demand increases airlines are still needing to constantly change flight schedules. We know the policies and will always be there to get you the best outcome. The biggest bonus is you deal with an actual human who cares! - Keep updated and do your research Every single state has different rules and it can be costly if you break them! Even with borders open some states still require you to pre-register to enter and you can be denied entry if you haven't. Each State Government has very detailed information on their websites of COVID19 restrictions and border crossings. Be aware businesses are also operating different than usual so do your research to avoid being disappointed. So many things have to be prebooked now due to restrictions on numbers allowed in venues and spaces. Lastly my email is still [email protected]

Luckily Easter Bunny is still able to visit us all Thank you again for your continued patience while we navigate this crazy time together. It's so unknown but as hard is it is, I still have so many things to be thankful for ... I am continuing to work through bookings in date order and once Easter is over, I will be in store working through bookings on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I won't be working on any days off going forward, the balance is needed to stay sane Lately I have had a number of days off owed so been trying to recoup after an extremely stressful March. 04.01.2022 One of the biggest challenges since Covid hit has been getting people home from overseas. Its heartbreaking having so many people stuck due to flight cancellation, flight caps or hard border closures. One thing so many people don't realise is how tough it has been for people to come home! So often I hear people say "who cares they should of come home in March when they were told or that they have had plenty of time to get home". I wish it was that simple. - imagine not havi...ng $2k - $10k just sitting in your account to book a new flight to get home and having to wait until your original airline to have a seat for you at no additional cost - or having your booking cancelled constantly by an airline as they have already reached capacity on how many people can fly into Australia (some flights are literally only coming in with 20 PEOPLE!!!) - the prospect of quitting your job in another country, breaking your lease and coming back to Australia with no job? - or rushing overseas to get to sick or dying family member, and then being bumped off your flight home only to find out the next available flight home is 2 months away? The unknown is bad enough for us here in Australia on when State Borders will open or when our hours will increase or when we may finally get a job. Let alone those who are stuck overseas and wishing to come home so bad. Yesterday I had the relief of another customer getting back to Adelaide. Their original booking cancelled, so only option was to rebook another flight home... Each person we get home is another day we can rest easier knowing they are back on Aussie soil. I do this job because I love helping people. Its not the usual excitement at the moment but outside of this year it is rewarding to help people create memories and even better reuniting families. These beautiful flowers arrived instore for me yesterday, it was a lovely surprise and just shows even though this is the toughest year of my working life, I am working the job that is meant for me and I couldn't be more grateful for my customers. I definitely do not expect it but getting these flowers made my day after a tough few weeks

03.01.2022 6 Months! It's been 6 long months undoing so many holidays with so much uncertainty and change in life. It is so sad cancelling all these amazing trips I hope everyone is staying safe and checking in with loved ones It is a constant wave of emotion navigating this time for everyone so don't forget to check in <3... I am still working Monday to Friday processing refunds, credits and cancellations. As soon as we receive funds back I am working on getting it back to you as soon as possible. I totally get the delay is frustrating with how long it is taking but I honestly appreciate the patience. <3

03.01.2022 4 Open and 3 to go for SA Residents. Slowly but surely state borders are opening which is exciting for those wanting to travel for leisure, business or to see family. South Australians can now travel to/from NSW without having to quarantine as of tomorrow! ... Means we now can visit Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and ACT. Be aware this can change at any time but for now its good news

It would mean everything to me to be able to get back to work! Travel is all I have known. ... Throwing your support behind your local agent for your Australian holiday will keep more jobs in Australia and help more people/businesses survive in the tourism industry. Think before you book online and know where your money is going! Your local agent has just as much knowledge and expertise on Australia as they do International. So the more support will save more jobs in the long run.
