17.01.2022 COUNCIL WORKS UPDATE Recent, current and soon to be commenced Council works and projects as at 1 October 2020: Gypsy Bay Boat Ramp dredging Work will commence in November due to breeding season of threatened species on site. Levelling the Playing Field Unisex Change Rooms Mechanical ventilation, electrical installation, civil works, internal fit out and plumbing are all nearing completion. ... Pembroke Park Stadium The tender has been awarded and work is expected to commence shortly. Stage one of the new access road and car park from Montagu Street has commenced construction. Sorell Skate Park The old concrete shelter has been removed and is currently being replaced with a new concrete slab, shelter, seating and solar lighting. *Pictured below Dodges Ferry Skate Park The old timber shelter will be removed and replaced by two concrete slabs, shelters and seating in the coming months. Stormwater Minor upgrades, storm damage repair and general maintenance on stormwater infrastructure is occurring around the Municipality. Fulham Road Stabilisation, sealing and associated drainage works on the final unsealed section of Fulham Road are complete. Road Resheeting The tender for the 2020/2021 program has been awarded to Hazell Brothers and works will be carried out in the coming weeks. Road Resealing The tender for the 2020/2021 program has been awarded to Fulton Hogan and works will be carried out before Christmas. Lighting at Jetties Solar lighting will be installed at the five jetties across our Municipality in the coming months. Woods Road The bridge on Woods Road has been replaced. Minor tidy up works are still to be completed. Burdons Road The bridge replacement on Burdons Road has commenced and should be completed early this month. Sorell Memorial Hall The exterior is currently being repainted. See more

16.01.2022 WESTON HILL ROAD CLOSURE Weston Hill Road, Mercer Court and Barclay Court are being resealed. Weston Hill Road will be closed between Cole Street and Gatehouse Drive from Monday 30 November to Thursday 3 December 2020 between working hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm. Detour will be via Devenish Drive during the works. The Gateway Shopping Centre remains accessible via Station Lane. Immediate residents and emergency services vehicles will be permitted through. A Map of the detour is available on Council’s website - www.sorell.tas.gov.au/weston-hill-road-closure Please observe the Contractors road signage and drive carefully during the works. We appreciate your patience.

15.01.2022 GYPSY BAY BOAT RAMP DREDGING UPDATE Due to threatened species requirements, dredging at the Gypsy Bay Boat Ramp is unable to be undertaken until November. The dredging will be carried out as soon as possible so it's completed ready for the summer boating season. Thanks for your patience!

A discussion paper, incorporating feedback from a recent survey, has been released for public input.
