23.01.2022 Update on flu vaccines: Our first batch of flu vaccinations have arrived. We are taking bookings for flu clinics for Monday 27th April to the 1st May. Health authorities recommend that all Australians over the age of six months be vaccinated against seasonal Influenza (the vaccine does not work against COVID-19). If you are not eligible for a free vaccine, please contact SFP to organise a private prescription and book your appointment at the flu clinic. Take your flu shot ...to that appointment. Under the Federal Governments National Immunisation Program, some people are eligible for a free flu vaccine, including: - children 6 months to 5 years - pregnant women - people aged 65 years and over - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months or older - people aged over 6 months with medical conditions putting them at a higher risk of flu complications (e.g those with diabetes, severe asthma, lung or heart disease)

21.01.2022 We apologise but due to delays in supply causing unpredictable delivery dates of vaccines we are unable to provide flu clinic appointments more than one week in advance. Whilst we have increased our flu clinics five-fold over the last few weeks and are experiencing a high demand for this service, due to the minimal numbers of flights into Tasmania supplies have not kept pace with the demand. This is out of our hands. Flu Clinics will continue for many weeks yet, and we ask that you please be patient and appreciate that our reception and nursing staff are working hard to deliver a high level of care for each patient. We would appreciate your understanding when speaking to our reception team, abuse will not be tolerated. We would like to thank all our patients for their ongoing support and understanding during this difficult time.

18.01.2022 Doctor changes at Sorell Family Practice Sadly we have had to say goodbye to Doctors Astrid Baker and Rosie Mollison, and will also be saying goodbye to Dr Virginia Baird at the end of October. We wish them well for the new changes in their life. We are very excited to welcome Dr Amanda Felmingham, who will be working 1 day a week with us from the 10th of September.

The BreastScreen Tasmania Mobile Screening Unit will be in Sorell from 24 August to 4 September 2020. 04.01.2022 Dear Patients We have made changes to our practice in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. These changes are to keep our patients, staff and Doctors safe and we appreciate your understanding during this time. We will keep you regularly updated here and on our web-site at sorellfamilypractice.com.au We have disabled our online booking system for the time being and ask that you call the practice directly to make appointments with the Doctors or Nurses on 62652341... We are able to offer Telehealth consults for patients that are classed as high risk or who do not wish to attend the practice. Your Doctor may also still need to see you, and will organise a time that you can come into the practice. They will give you instructions for when you arrive. We ask that if you have a fever, any flu-like or respiratory infection symptoms that you do not present in person at the Practice but instead give us a call on 62652341 to organise a consultation. Your health care is our primary concern so please do not hesitate to contact the Practice for normal as well as acute care. The Practice is monitoring the situation very closely, and will make any changes necessary to ensure your and our safety while remaining open for your medical needs.
