20.01.2022 ATTENTION LADIES OF THE MIDWEST: After fixing 4 sets of eyelash extensions in the last week I urge you to read on! The top 2 photos are of work I had to remove- these ARE NOT eyelash extensions- they are a damaging mess. The below are after shots- what eyelash extensions should look like. The reason for this post is not to 'bag' any other businesses in town- it is to educate, as I fear that with jobs like this becoming so common there will be far too many ladies ending up wit...h irreversible damage to their eyelashes. So how do you know if you're getting a 'good' set? Here are some important tips: - Don't be afraid to ask to see the extensions before they are applied- they should look fine like your natural lashes, have a feel- they should be soft and fluffy. Extensions that are thick and heavy will put stress on your natural lash and may cause them to fall out. - While being applied the glue should have no smell and you should feel no stinging. - When you open your eyes you shouldn't be able to feel the lashes on your eyes, they should be light and feel 'normal'. - When the job is done, they may look dramatic and full from the front angle but ask to see a photo of the base of your lashes with your eyes closed- like the ones below. There should be NO visible glue like below. There should be 1 natural lash per extension- no chunks like below. - The extensions should look and feel light and fluffy, just like your natural lash and should be easily brushed with a mascara wand. - Cheap isn't always best- these are your eyes we are talking about! I can not stress enough how damaging extensions can be when applied like below- eyelashes are hair, just like your eyebrows and just like ever plucked eyebrows, continual application of damaging extensions WILL cause bald patches in your eyelashes! 12.01.2022 Wow, it's been a while between posts, but that's because we've been so busy! Especially the last 2 weekends with the start of wedding season! On the 6th September I was lucky enough to spend the morning with Stefanie and her gorgeous Bridesmaids on her special day. Here are a few pics... 11.01.2022 LASH RESCUE! First set of refills for the week- on a new client- and the pictures below are what I am faced with. I run the risk of sounding like a broken record, but this has to stop! Again, let me reiterate, I post this not to 'bag' other businesses but to educate! So what is happening below? This set didn't look bad from the clients view in the mirror but lets take a closer look: Picture 1) This is a chunk of extensions held together by large amounts of glue- this was all ...throughout the set. This is terribly damaging for lashes as it interrupts their natural growth and the incredible weight and stress on the lash simply causes them to fall out! Picture 2) This is 1 extension stuck onto about 4 natural lashes with a large glob of glue. Again incredibly damaging to the natural lash as they cannot grow out normally- the result, you guessed it, they simply fall out! Picture 3) These are the extensions after being removed with glue remover- any natural lash that is still attached to the eyelid remains behind unharmed. But notice some extensions have 2 or 3 natural lashes stuck to them, these are natural lashes that have already given up and fallen out from reason caused above. Also notice how thickly the ends of the extensions are covered with glue- this is what causes chunking, stinging and thick heavy extensions. Picture 4) How Eyelash Extensions should look! The Result? After months of damaging and stinging extensions, my new client has unfortunately suffered thinning and shortening of her lashes. We are now working together to grow her lashes back to a healthy set with light, fluffy, non-damaging extensions and some good after care. Contact me today for more info- Paula 0429 341 323.
