24.01.2022 Was delighted today to visit Knox Community Gardens Society Inc and be given a tour of this fantastic community initiative by the President, Deputy Mayor Cr Susan Laukens Friberg Ward Knox City Council. It was great to hear about the sustainable philosophy behind it and the vision for the Gardens. Run by volunteers, with almost 200 members, the Society has gone from strength to strength and in addition to an orchard has around 150 plots and raised beds, lovingly tended by locals like Vince and Rupa. I even got to taste a fresh strawberry straight off the plant! Yum
24.01.2022 Here I am with my daughter Angie as a baby having lunch in Knox after an appointment. As a new mum, I attended regular appointments with the Knox Council Maternal & Child Health Service. The nurses there did an excellent job & if elected I will support well-funded council services for everyone in Dinsdale & Knox.
24.01.2022 Great start to the morning, catching brekkie with Jackson Taylor MP! This is an exciting time for Dinsdale and Knox. We’ve already hit the ground running, and I’ll keep working with our Councillors and local MPs to get the best outcomes for the community. Thanks to The Hatter and the Hare for the delicious food!
22.01.2022 Two weeks ago was Jean Hailes' Women's Health Week and last night was the livestreamed Comedy Gala to raise funds for that event and for the female comedians and crew who have been affected by the COVID crisis. And what a fabulous event it was! I laughed so hard, my jaw hurt, the comedic talent was A M A Z I N G, culturally and ethnically diverse, but universally funny. I'll always support well funded health services for everyone in Knox.
22.01.2022 It's been another busy week, so decided to get tasty Malaysian from PappaRich Australia at Knox Ozone in Dinsdale, supporting local business, supporting local jobs. I have enjoyed lunches and dinners at Knox Ozone with family and friends many times and I look forward to doing it again in the near future.
21.01.2022 Excited for the full interview to be released tomorrow! Thanks to Mark and Jill for making it happen - this is such a great initiative to keep our community informed.
21.01.2022 Happy Moon Festival! !
19.01.2022 Earlier this week, I viewed via Zoom the last Knox Ordinary Council Meeting in the current council's term. I was very impressed to see our democratically elected Councillors and the CEO + Senior Council staff hard at work over 3 hours addressing and debating 16 Agenda items to improve the lives of Knox residents and business owners. As a hard worker myself, I look forward to joining them, if elected, to contribute to this important work.
18.01.2022 Important update for our local community! These are tough times for everyone, but I'm so proud of the way we've all stuck together. Not long to go until we get to a COVID-normal, let's all keep up the great work!
18.01.2022 Thank you everyone! I started this Facebook page just this year, and we've already reached more than 200 page likes. We're building a community of people who support our vision for Jobs, Prosperity, and Community. This election is a once in a lifetime opportunity to give the Dinsdale community the representation they deserve. I'm so proud to be fighting everyday for us to make that happen!
17.01.2022 This afternoon, I was delighted to attend Orana Neighbourhood House's AGM alongside fellow Councillors Marcia Timmers-Leitch - Councillor Collier Ward Knox City Council and Deputy Mayor Cr Susan Laukens Friberg Ward Knox City Council. As someone who has volunteered at Orana, assisting learners with Everyday English, it was a pleasure to see the organisation's progress reflected in this outstanding AGM and also have a write up about my class published in the Annual Report. ...I was also moved by former student guest speaker Simone Power, who said that to her, Orana meant not only learning new skills in a friendly, supportive environment, but also the opportunity to meet people and make a difference. Simone now gives motivational speeches to schools about car safety and she delighted everyone at the start when she told us she spells Orana with S-M-I-L-E. There's lots more to do to support our community houses through COVID-19, and I'll always stand up for these vital services as your Councillor for Dinsdale. Thanks to Councillor Marcia for the photo!
16.01.2022 Today is National Police Memorial Day. We honour and remember all those police officers who have tragically died in the line of duty. Thank you for serving our communities. Thank you for keeping us safe. ... We will remember.

14.01.2022 Shree Swaminarayan Temple Melbourne have been holding their amazing Knox Diwali & Ankoot e-Festival this weekend. I made this video which was livestreamed last night to show my support.
13.01.2022 Remembrance Day in Australia commemorates the sacrifice of armed forces and civilians during times of war. At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, one minute of silence is observed across the country to mark the end of hostilities on the Western front during WW1 after over four years of warfare. Today we observe Remembrance Day to remember all the members of our armed forces who have died in armed conflict since WW1. Lest we forget. Thank you to RSL Victoria for the graphic.
13.01.2022 To all the businesses in Dinsdale Ward and Knox, make sure you look at applying for the available grants! If elected, I will seek to expand this type of economic support as we recover from the COVID health and economic crisis. Thank you to Knox City Council for their fantastic work!
12.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC week, when celebrations are held across Australia to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek
11.01.2022 Thanks for the update Jackson Taylor MP! We need to be doing everything we can to support the most vulnerable. Bravo to Knox Infolink and Orange Sky Australia. This is a fantastic example of the type of work I want to dedicate myself to supporting if elected to Council.
11.01.2022 Just picked up some campaign signs printed right here in Dinsdale by Advent Print Media at 18 Parkhurst Drive Knoxfield. They did a great job, with prompt and friendly service - always happy to support local business and local jobs. If you'd like one at your home or business, please get in contact!
11.01.2022 Congratulations to new Mayor Lisa Cooper - Knox City Council and new Deputy Mayor Cr Susan Laukens Friberg Ward Knox City Council on their election last Monday. It's been great working with you and the other Councillors over the past week and I look forward to what we can achieve for Knox together in the future.
10.01.2022 Now that the results are in for Dinsdale Ward, I am happy to share that I have been provisionally elected as your new Councillor-elect for Knox City Council. The official results will be published on the VEC website pending any recounts or challenges, and the successful candidates for all wards will be officially sworn in on Friday 13 November. I look forward to the opportunity to work collaboratively with the other Councillors and serve our community.... I’d also like to acknowledge the other candidates, Lance Cadman, Rosemary Lavin and Robert Williams for the democratic contest. I will work hard for our community and, from November 13, endeavour to be a Councillor who represents everyone in Dinsdale.
09.01.2022 A MESSAGE TO YOUNG PEOPLE This upcoming council election is all about vision. I want to help create a better future for our next generation. We all deserve to live in safe, healthy, and happy communities.... I hope to earn your support!
08.01.2022 Thanks again to Jill and Mark for the interview! This election is such an important opportunity to set our recovery from COVID on the right track. If elected, I'll continue listening to the Dinsdale community and be a strong advocate for Jobs, Prosperity, and Community. Watch the interview to see more about my plans and priorities!
07.01.2022 Dinsdale residents will be seeing these signs around our community for the next few weeks now that they're up! It's always a weird feeling seeing your face on a sign, but here we are If you'd like to have a corflute up in your front yard or at your business, feel free to get in contact! I'm immensely grateful for all the support I've received.
05.01.2022 One of the great joys of this campaign has been meeting locals and chatting about their priorities for Dinsdale. Thank you to Neranjana and his lovely family, your support is greatly appreciated!
05.01.2022 Gender equality matters, and I'm proud to be one of 13 female candidates running in the Knox City Council October 2020 Elections! If elected to Council, I will push for proper consideration to be given to the gendered impacts of policy decisions. Especially as we are recovering from a pandemic which has disproportionately left women unemployed, I will fight for continued funding of maternal & childcare services, and a jobs-led COVID recovery which benefits both women and men.
05.01.2022 Delighted to share that last night I was sworn in as the new Councillor for Dinsdale Ward at the Knox Civic Centre. I look forward to working collaboratively with the other 8 Councillors to make Dinsdale and Knox a better place for all of us to live in.
04.01.2022 Well done to all Victorians. Our hard work is paying off. Let's keep staying safe so we can stay open!
03.01.2022 We're getting there, Victoria! My condolences to the families of the two lives who were tragically lost. Let's keep up the fight to honour their memory.
03.01.2022 Two days ago, it was World Tourism Day! Here are some photos I took a few years back in the Foothills of the Dandenongs to the East of Knox, not far from the Thousand Steps, as well as one other in a beautiful floral garden. Although not in Dinsdale, the Foothills are part of Knox and if elected, part of our post-COVID recovery needs to involve support for tourism and tourism operators as one way of stimulating business and jobs in Knox.
03.01.2022 Busy day letterboxing in Dinsdale lucky weather's been so lovely
