24.01.2022 Blind Date with a Book is back again Don Hall Market Sunday 30th August 8am until 2pm. Funds raised will go towards Primary School and TAFE Scholarships a local project.



23.01.2022 Left some flowers at Devonport Cenotaph from the club lovely display of poppies that have been handmade. Then had a social distancing chat with Robyn Glen.

22.01.2022 We had a lovely service this evening by Archdeacon John Tongue at St Johns Anglican Church followed by a delicious meal. We also were able to thank Andrina Fay for all her help to our club. Thank you Andrina!

22.01.2022 Hopefully the weather will be on our side this Saturday as we dedicate our seat at the Devonport Cemetery Lawrence Drive st 2pm 24th October.



21.01.2022 Today we finally dedicated our seat at Devonport Cemetery acknowledging babies in unmarked graves. The idea was first mentioned in 2012 by Anne Thomas and today Anne was able to join us for the dedication. We thank the Devonport Council for the community grant we received to assist us with this project.

20.01.2022 Despite the weather, we had an excellent attendance for our Walk the Talk event. We had a shortened walk, an inspirational speech from Mike Gaffney. Thanks to Maritime Union, 7AD, SEA-FM. Great to have Inner Wheel, Zonta & CWA working together.

16.01.2022 Last night we hosted a function for International Womens Week with our guest speaker Crystal Garwood President Tasmanian Law Society. A wonderful evening shared with 66 women.

11.01.2022 Today I was guest speaker at Sheffield Probus Club and I was asked to explain about Soroptimist International its origin and how our club works.

10.01.2022 A week of celebrating I W D has come to a close with the Diamonds of Devonport a wonderful event at the Paranaple Centre. Margaret Fay spoke about the joy of being a Soroptimist and a few tales thrown in. Leanne Distill was given a Diamond award for community service.

09.01.2022 This morning we presented Maddison with The Devonport Soroptimist TAFE Scholarship. Very interesting to hear her story on the road to becoming an Enrolled Nurse.

09.01.2022 We will be hosting an evening to celebrate International Womens Day. Our guest speaker is Crystal Garwood a partner at Dolan and Brothers and recently elected President of Tasmanian Law Society.

08.01.2022 Devonport Soroptimist along with Zonta and Inner Wheel working together to promote our Walk Against Violence walk this coming Sunday commencing at 11.30am Market Square Providore Place walking to the Cenotaph for a sausage sizzle. Please join us to say NO.

08.01.2022 What a great day we had raising funds for Presidents appeal. Started with two of us getting bogged and needing a tractor to save us!! We could not have asked for better weather and many thanks to the people who came to support us and my wonderful helper Nevaeh ( my great granddaughter)

08.01.2022 For the past 15 years we have been able to enjoy the lovely display of many types of daffodils at Aileens place with all proceeds going to the Federation Presidents Project which is a shelter for women in Fiji.

07.01.2022 After having consulted Covid Information Hotline we can go ahead with our daffodil day but we can only have 20 at any given time even though we are out in a paddock with 48 acres around us. We will have a sign in sheet to be signed on arrival, hand sanitizers will be at entry point. Hoping to see you there.
