25.01.2022 Fantastic news - laying of the new green is now complete! Line marking will occur tomorrow. Official handover of the green and sign off on completion of the project with Berry Bowling Systems will occur within the next couple of days and then it will be open for members to give it a try. . Hope to see you on the green soon, the garden is also looking beautiful thanks to Anne’s hard work.

19.01.2022 Help raise funds for bushfire relief this Australia Day! We would love you to come and join us on Sunday 26 January for this fabulous (and free!) family fun day. Our special guest is our Australia Day Ambassador Alison Harcourt AO, 2019 Victorian Senior Australian of the Year. Gates open 10am, ceremonies 11am, barefoot bowls and family activities all day.

18.01.2022 As part of the ongoing projects the Sorrento Bowling Club wrought iron sign above the entrance is on its way to be sandblasted, repainted and will come back looking like new! Thanks to Brian McGrath for organising and to Melbourne Headstones for their support.

14.01.2022 The new green construction is under way! The boys from BBS have been working on the surrounds today and are expected to start on removing around 250 tonnes of turf and soil from the green later in the week. Great work Troy, Travis and Ash!

13.01.2022 The sand layer caps off the crushed rock layer and is the final step in completing the base. Hoping for fine weather next week for the area to turn green with roll-out of the new surface.

12.01.2022 Work to connect to main sewerage continues, a couple of days to go to get to the finish line then work can continue on lighting installation for the back green.

12.01.2022 Latest progress instalment of the new green - the edging is complete, levelling of the crushed rock base is continuing and the rolls of synthetic material have been delivered and are sitting greenside ready to be rolled out upon completion of the base. Fingers crossed for fine weather over the next three weeks.

11.01.2022 This is the latest from Bowls Victoria - -: Today we received advice from Sport & Recreation Victoria (Victorian Government) and Vicsport regarding use of greens, and can now advise clubs of the following...... & : As per the Premiers advice on Tuesday July 7 and confirmation from Sport & Recreation Victoria and VicSport this afternoon, the following applies for all clubs located in the Metropolitan Melbourne & Mitchell Shire areas, for the next 6 weeks (until August 20, 2020) - . Indoor Bowls facilities in Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell must remain closed. Members must contact their local club as to when they are open. Maximum of 10 people per green, and a maximum of 2 people per rink. 1.5m minimum distance must be maintained between each rink. All Jacks & Mats must be cleaned and disinfected before and after use, and only handled by one person. Club houses must be closed (other than bathroom facilities). Clubs must receive approval from their local council to open their Club. Further information will be posted on our website and emailed to clubs as soon as written advice is received from the relevant state authorities. Please continue to stay safe and healthy, and thank you for being patient as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 situation. Look after yourself. Look after your mates.

05.01.2022 We are currently unable to accept bookings for barefoot bowls due to Covid-19 restrictions but are hoping to welcome Barefoots back on the green from September - so stay tuned for updates in case we are permitted to open earlier. .

03.01.2022 Good news and bad news - bad is that foundation works for the new lights damaged the old septic tank system. Good news is that the old system is going and we are being connected to mains sewerage. More good news is that we'll be back in action next week and the clubhouse and bar will be open with the latest relaxing of restrictions.

02.01.2022 Thank you so much to Scott and Arrianne from Swing Patrol for an amazing night of dancing. We even created history with the largest number of dancers to perform a group Charleston in the history of Sorrento! Not only are they amazingly skilful on the floor but they are also very talented bowlers. Hope to see you soon!
