08.01.2022 Julie Saunders Bio A little background intro: Being a child of the 60s from a little country town out west ,I was raised on meat and veg and everything home made, home cooked , home grown and home sewn . Always had a garden and my Dad was a Shearer and my Mum a Cook , so we were always well fed . Dad would bring home the meat and mum would cook it to perfection . I learnt to cook and sew which has stood me in strong ground .... I guess I was destined to become a vegetarian as I ceased eating meat when I was 15 , my body was telling me then that I didn't need it . As I found out in my later years that I have heamochromotosis which is high iron , I knew way back then that I was intuitive to what my body needed. Then finding out I had both the MTHFR genes only made me more determined to be healthy and to understand more about the gut ,colon and genetic lineage we carry . It still astounds me that we can do everything right in our lives , good food, good water , exercise , live a good life , be positive , create a good environment and all the right ingredients for the cake ,but still become ill , which is attributed to your blood lines , microbiome and genetic lineage that ultimately determines our outcomes . So at 15 began my journey into mung beans, lentils, sprouts and everything green . Being a vegetarian for such a long time and conscious of eating healthy led me into Health and Wellness . I read many books and listened to radio talks as there wasn't a lot of talk about vegetarians when I was growing up . As an adult I had 3 children and enduring post natal depression with 2 of them , a child with Herschsprungs which is gut and colon related , no assistance or more to the point education in this field it also led me on a path of finding out as much as I could to help my child . It began another journey of not taking medication for the depression but understanding and listening to my body with what it wanted , feeding my body good nutrition and relearning self love , self value and self worth helped me through the turmoil .
