21.01.2022 Hey all. Just wanted to put a quick update in regards to our last post which gained a LOT of attention. All of us here at home (Melvin, Kayla and little man) have had our Covid Tests come back NEGATIVE. Which, apart from being a massive relief, means we're now just in the same boat as everyone else in regards to the six day lockdown. ... We'd like to thank everyone who sent msgs of well wishes and support in the last day or so. We hope everyone is dealing with this situation well and we look forward to making plenty of coffee when we're advised it's safe to do so. Melvin and Kayla x

We'll be open again from this Sunday from 8am - 1pm following the guidelines set out on how we can trade (1 person per 4sqm - Max 10 booking) We make most food items in the café fresh so please be aware that some menu items will be unavailable until we get a food delivery on Mon.... Given the events over the last week we will actually be OPEN this coming Monday 23rd Nov from 8am - 3pm as per usual to try and recouperate after several lost days of trade. After that we will still be CLOSED for the remaining Mondays of the year while we try get this Wine Bar up and running. What a rollercoaster! Dont worry, it's confusing for us too. 01.01.2022 Hey everyone. So, we need to immediately address something that we know will be of concern to a lot of you. This morning we shut the Café at around 10am. We shut because the advice given by SA Health had changed in regards to the Parafield Covid - 19 Cluster. ... Yesterday, while we were closed, Kayla was notified that her son had been present at the Aquadome in Adelaide on Sat with his father in the times outlined by Health SA as being 'at risk'. Obviously this information was of great concern to us both and we discussed at length what the most suitable course of action was. We rang around to several different sources including both local medical centres, the covid hotline, and hospitals in Adelaide and the consistent advice was in line with what Health SA was telling us at the time - only to monitor and immediately get tested if symptoms arose. We discussed it at great length and based on the information given to us - decided to accept that advice and carry on with our lives as normal albeit with a deep sense of apprehension not only as business owners and community members but as parents. Today that information was updated at around 9.30am on the SA Health Website for those present at the Aquadome to immediately isolate for 14 days and to be tested. The moment that information was relayed to us we shut the cafe and have taken Kaylas son from school. Subsequently - we have all been tested and are now in quarantine pending the results. The tests should take 24-48 hours to get back. I have been on the phone and spoke at length to the communicable diseases branch who have assured me that upon recieving a negative test we are free to carry on and live our lives as 'normal'. As secondary contacts we are at very little risk and only need to isolate until such time. That being said, SOUL Café will remain closed until we have more clarity. We're telling you all this because we know how quickly information can become distorted and we would prefer to face this head on with a full sense of transperancy. This has been an incredibly difficult 48 hours. Not only have we been hit with new restrictions but we are also now facing something that could directly impact the health of our immediate family so we really hope for your understanding on this.
