Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-B-80EBvUk4 About the movie: What are we without our memories and most-treasured possessions? Thats the question that were invited to contemplate in CLAIRE DARLING, the thoughtful and affecting new film from Julie Bertuccelli (Since Otar Left), based on the best-selling novel by Lynda Rutledge. On the first day of summer, reclusive millionaire Claire (Catherine Deneuve) lays all of her worldly objects out on the front lawn of her mansion, impulsively determined to sell everything. As a horde of curious bystanders and opportunistic neighbours fight over the ridiculously underpriced antiques, each object stirs vivid memories for Claire of her flamboyant life. But soon, her long-estranged daughter Marie (Chiara Mastroianni) arrives, determined to stop these proceedings by any means Emotional, subtle and elegantly directed, CLAIRE DARLING is a deeply personal film for Bertuccelli, filmed in the estate of her own grandmother, and Deneuve is remarkable as always as the larger-than-life heiress, playing opposite her real-life daughter. This is a poignant story of emotional attachment, misremembered pasts, and the complexity of mother/daughter relationships. The ending may surprise you, and packs an emotional punch.
23.01.2022 Another beautiful Soul Food program today. The theme was 'Syllables and Sounds' and explored the power of words, speech and sound, and how their inspired usage can touch and transform the human soul. Special thanks to Lisa Throssell who relaxed us with the healing sounds of the ceramic 'singing' bowls and also to our lovely readers Elaine and John and of course the amazing Moira and Farah for the yummy refreshments! Here are a couple of photos from the program.
22.01.2022 Much trouble has come from people forgetting the land, the spirit. Many people are sick and have lost their spirit. The white government has cut their culture; we grieve for them. But we can all learn and make our spirit strong. My teaching is about opening your spirit, working together to build understanding. Opening our way, opening our hearts to share the spirit of the land with all who want to learn. Nganyinytja an elder of the Pitjantjatjara people of Central Australia
21.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who attended Soul Food today. The last program for 2015. 'Mountains of Life' explored the significance of challenges and adversity and how we can overcome them. Here are 2 quotes from today ... 'There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet' - William Frederick Halsy Jr. 'When everything seems going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it' - Henry Ford

18.01.2022 A reminder about Soul Food today 5-6pm. The theme is 'A Sense of Time' Just wanted to share this story. Troye Sivan was one of our featured artists at Soul Food when he was just 10 years old. We knew back then that he was destined for great things. Why? Well, he had extraordinary vocal talent of course but what stood out the most was his professionalism and dedication at such a young age. He performed magnificently at Soul Food even though he had a cold and wasn't feeling very well. So happy for Troye and how far he has come!http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au//story-fnii5tho-122752443
