With many people working from home, the daily connections and energy exchange between people is almost non existent. This lack of interaction can influence our thoughts and feelings into a downward spiral. We begin to feel anger, frustration, depression, fear, anxiety a...nd often despair. These feelings are very challenging to deal with let alone when the physical body becomes impacted. Which inevitably it does as we simply can not seperate the two. . The physical body or pain body as Eckart Tolle calls it, will give you the message that the fear has been heard by every cell in the body. . So one of the best ways to manage both the emotional and physical discomfort is the breath. Conscious breathing. Focusing only on the breath, rising and falling. We have seen a-lot of stress response symptoms present in the clinic in the past couple of weeks. Some complaints include, headaches, tooth and jaw pain (clenching teeth), restlessness, insomnia, flares of old pains returning, sensitive digestion, loose bowels, reflux, muscle cramps, increased levels of irritability, rumination, intense period pain and exhaustion. We have been very fortunate to stay open and provide support to our SoulPod community. Over the last few months the littlest members of the family have certainly showed resilience and adaptability. Like all of us, they have been challenged, thrown out of routine, lost connection with friends, and unable to visit family and loved... ones. Not all children will be able to bounce back into the new normal without bumps and scratches. Many will feel anxious, worried, uncomfortable, angry ect ect. Hopefully in time these feelings will dissipate, however if not try some energy work. Kids respond really well and quick to energy medicine. 03.01.2022 A little Gua Sha to help relieve shoulder pain. It is quite extra ordinary how a small amount of treatment can provide huge relief. This sort of treatment is really helpful when pain is niggely and causing restriction, especially when there is central nervous system tension. The more red or Sha that comes to the surface indicates more stagnation there is locally. We also do Gua Sha for the onset of a head cold, of fever. Its something you can do @ home too. Use eithe...r olive or coconut oil as a carrier and then use a porcelain spoon (metal spoon will also work, just a little more painful) as pictured. Gently run the spoon along the muscles until some red comes through the skin (pictured). Scrapping or otherwise known as spooning over the tender area should take no longer than 5-10mins.
