23.01.2022 ONLINE SAMHAIN GATHERING 30th APRIL // Hello lovely souls! I have been thinking how to bring you Soul Potion magic online, and I am currently navigating that. The workshops that I run bring me so much joy and I hope they do to you too. I feel they are especially needed in these times. So, with that in mind, I am excited to announce a Soul Potion online gathering for Samhain on 30th April, 2020. An opportunity to honour our ancestors through meditation and ritual. Samhain ...(think a Southern Hemisphere version of Halloween) is the time of year when the veil between the worlds is thin and we take the time to honour our ancestors. It marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the ‘darker half’ of the year, about halfway between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. DETAILS: This gathering will include a guided ritual and meditation that we will do together, as well as guidance for creating an ancestor altar at home. We’ll have the opportunity to respectfully honour our ancestors and share our stories. This will be done online via zoom and you’ll just need to make sure you have access to the zoom app on your phone or computer, as well as internet connection. Date & Time: Thursday 30th April @ 8:30pm - 10pm (AEST) Tickets: $30 + booking fee - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/soul-potion-online-samhain- For me personally, I always feel that Samhain and the few weeks leading up to it is an incredibly potent time energetically. There is a shift in the air as the evenings get colder and darker. I absolutely love the magic that this time of year brings - it’s my favourite of all the Pagan holidays. 21.01.2022 NEW BEGINNINGS // For months this @soulpotion.com.au logo / branding has been creatively brewing I worked closely with my beautiful illustrator @good_morning_moon_ to bring the essence of Soul Potion to life in picture form. Black and gold to represent the shadow and light, the Moon to represent our connection to Source, Spirit and intuition, the cauldron that holds the possibility of brewing and creating magic, and the flowers to represent nature and all that blooms when we... nurture it. The rosemary, lavender and rose hold particular symbolism to me and Soul Potion - as do the dahlias that I have collaged in the background. A new chapter begins for Soul Potion and I am so grateful to have you along on this journey. 18.01.2022 RAINY DAY BLESSING // This rainy weather today was calling me to do a house blessing and clean. Rainy days at home are my absolute favourite form of luxury. There’s something incredibly cleansing about being at home with the grey sky and the sound of rain that makes my soul feel reset. I perform my house cleansing in three parts... 1. CLEANSING // This is physically cleaning the home - vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, putting away clutter.... 2. CLEARING // Energetic shifting, resetting the energy of the home using my energetic tools like burning Mugwort, Rosemary, Lavender. I will ask Spirit to clear away all negative energy. I always follow this with using my singing bowl, bringing that beautiful sound to each room. 3. BLESSING // Using words of intention to bring in the light. I say a blessing in each room as I walk around the house. I also use a beautiful energetic spray as I find it really uplifts the space in a sweet way and seals the blessing. 11.01.2022 // In my instagram stories a few days ago I posted a photo of this beautiful 1920s black silk embroidered tassel shawl that I purchased from @clarafoxvintagem ... I had to move it away from the window so it didn’t have full sun shining on it all day. As I placed it in its new home (over one of my much loved chairs) I realised that this shawl is 100 years old (or pretty close to it)! Imagine the stories it must have witnessed and experienced and the women who owned i...t over the years... each with a unique life, story and history. This is my most favourite thing about vintage. I like my home to be like a patchwork quilt... each piece completely different, but comes together to create something special and cosy that feels like a big welcoming hug. This is much like life in that it’s filled with small precious moments that overall make for something meaningful and special. 09.01.2022 // I saw a post this morning about not waiting until everything is ‘perfect’ before you launch your offering This really resonated with me because I have been working on a product for Soul Potion for the good part of 9 months. I have been sourcing, preparing the packaging - all while in the middle of this pandemic and moving interstate. I have been resistant to actually say what this product is until everything is ‘perfect’! But in the spirit of leaping like ...the fool in the tarot card, I have with me my bag filled with everything I need and trust and believe in what I am creating. So what is this Soul Potion product? Those who have attended the Soul Potion New Moon gatherings #soulpotionsoulcircle know how deeply special the experience is in every aspect. From the music, the organic tea served in lovely vintage teacups, the natural plants burned to cleanse the space and the safe space and energy created. I receive many messages from attendees about the products I use during these workshops everything down to the small details about the bell I use over the oracle cards when we each pull a card. I wanted to create a piece of Soul Potion that you could take home with you something that combined ritual, meditation, joy and comfort. The number one thing people asked me about was the tea I served! So, today I announce that Soul Potion will be releasing two very special organic tea potions! These brews have been lovingly created using certified organic tea leaves and flowers. They have been combined for two beautiful purposes and each come with a tea ritual you can do while you wait for your potions to brew. I am just waiting on some final labels to have their design finalised and printed for the packaging and then I will be ready to launch - which I am very excited about. 07.01.2022 JOY & GRIEF // I have been grappling with feelings of guilt the past few weeks whenever I felt joy, my inner voice would stomp on it and say how dare you feel this when the world is suffering and midst awakening and revolution! So out of respect I haven’t really been sharing much the highs (moving interstate) and the lows (my granny’s final farewell) and the small moments of beauty in between. But, I was reflecting as I was folding washing tonight We are so awkward as a... society with dealing with grief - whether it’s the physical passing of someone we love, or the processing of grief we have for those who are in need in society. We have been conditioned to think that there can only be ONE - You are either ‘happy’ or you are ’sad’ but what I realised is that joy and grief can walk side-by-side with you each day. To feel one is to not insult the other, it is, I believe, necessary to honour both. To focus only on the joy is to bypass the reality of life and the causes and situations that need help. And to focus only on grief is to spiral our emotions to the point where our cup is so empty that we are incapable of creating action and change. So I made a promise to myself tonight that when I see and feel moments of beauty and joy in the day I will not feel guilty. I will thank the Universe for showing me its magic, so that I am even more determined to support and stand for change. To honour my Soul is to give my body strength so I can effectively help others. The Winter Solstice is this Sunday and marks the longest hours of darkness it’s a rebirth. It also lands on a New Moon, so the energy of reflection is potent. I feel like this time is calling us deep into ourselves, into the shadows, to find our personal power and to begin to create a new world - both internally and externally. I will hold joy in one hand and grief in the other, and move forward creating a path of hope and magic with each step. 06.01.2022 // Lammas is the traditional time of harvest and preparation for the coming Winter months, celebrated on the 2nd of February in the Southern Hemisphere. Lammas brings our awareness that Winter is approaching and is an opportunity to give gratitude for the years harvest. It marks about the halfway point between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox. Harvesting at Lammas is not only of crops, but of all that has been sown throughout the year. As Lammas is the ...celebration of harvest, it is traditionally the festival where the first loaf of bread from the harvest is broken and shared in the name of the Goddess. Lammas ties in with Lughnassadh, the Celtic festival in honour of the Sun God, which is held on the 7th of February in the Southern Hemisphere. Tradition tells that the Sun King gives his energy to the crops to ensure life while the Mother prepares to transform into her aspect as the Crone. Lammas is the time to teach and to share the fruits of our achievements. The baking of bread, the gathering of seed for the next year’s sowing, and the making of corn dolls are all traditional at Lammas. The altar is decorated with loaves of freshly baked bread, corn dolls and wreaths, and fruits and vegetables of the harvest. Lammas is a time to share, be thankful for our blessings, and be joyful for the blessings that are to come. I can definitely feel a shift in the air today, especially after the wild rain we had in Canberra yesterday. 01.01.2022 SHINE // Happy New Moon in Cancer! I have had many people ask when my New Moon gatherings will be returning, and I can excitedly say that they will be returning via Zoom very soon! Today I had the absolute pleasure of being able to treat myself to some New Moon self-care and I attended Pam Grossman’s New Moon gathering that she generously offered as a special Pateron supporter gift. Pam is the host of one of my favourite all time podcasts @witchwavepod - if you love Witchy ...goodness from a Witch who is inclusive and wise, you’ll definitely love The Witch Wave! This afternoon I sat in some reflection and drew a card for the collective for this New Moon - the oracle deck used will be familiar to those who attend my gatherings - The Vision of the Muse Oracle deck by @thelionessoracle - The card that came through is SHINE! I absolutely love this word for where we are at this point in time. I think sometimes we can confuse the ‘light’ with being timid and soft and etherial. But this card has come through to remind us that even through the darkness we can shine our light with dignity and strength (as represented in the lion). We can hold true to our values and be brave and courageous, and this will shine out into the world illuminating hope for yourself and those who need it. SHINE VISUALISATION: 1. Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. 2. See yourself illuminating the brightest golden light from your aura. 3. Sit with this visualisation for as many breaths as needed. 4. Now, think of a lovely and hopeful wish you have for yourself. 5. See that wish sparkle and shine over your entire aura. 6. Now, think of a lovely and hopeful wish you have for the planet. 7. See that wish shine out from your aura - reaching every corner of the globe, shining hope and love on this planet. 8. Take your hands to your heart and take 3 slow and deep breaths. And so it is.
